Although the lume could be better, I agree with you that this watch has very few weaknesses, when considering the price of the watch. I put my Bluro on a blue tropic strap and it suits the watch really well, as giving a great weight balance. Overall, I think its the best watch that I've ever bought for under £50. for $42.00, I can deal with lume not lasting too long and maybe the second hand not hitting the the marks, but it is a very accurate watch and does look rather good on a handsome metal bracelet.
I just received the "gold" version of this watch from Amazon, last weekend. $40 USD. I didn't care from the "feel" of the rubber strap, that it came with, so I changed to a "Bond" type NATO strap. (black, and green, with red stripes)...I have a 7-5/8" wrist, so it fits well.
I have the new Duro MDV 107 without the Marlin. I think it is truly captures the essentials of the watch. Clear dial without any Marlin logo, they also improved the watch by give the applied indices in the dial which we can't see in the Marlin. Both of them are cool, Marlin is iconic, MDV-107 capturing the essentials of this type. But I need to replace my strap to a tropical rubber strap, it's totally a perfect beater watch now.
Just threw a black leather crocodile patterned strap on my my black Duro. Highly recommend adding a leather strap to your rotation if you haven't already 👌🏽
You really do get a lot for your money here. I think this deserves a premium strap, and if you can the sapphire upgrade makes it just that much better, at least to me. And with the low price, the lume is excusable.

I have the same watch. It's a good looking watch that is durable and does what a watch is suppose to do, so what's the down size? One can pay more for a similar watch if their looking for status but I'm past that stage in life.
I do not wear anything but orient. I just am very drawn to orient. An their orient star line. I just love a japanese timepiece on my wrist. I have had quite a few different orient models, an i will never want or need to buy a exspensive swiss watch. Orient is just so right for me.
I always see people saying good things about the citizen eco drive . My favorite watch is the orient star diver. An i had to replace it , also. Lost mine.
I picked this one up from eBay, for the money I think you’re better off with an aftermarket bracelet. Now there are plenty of offering that even have screws for the links. That would be way better than the original pressed metal bracelet.
I actually have owned invictas in the past. They currently don’t interest me much but if enough people request it I wouldn’t be against showing them on the channel. I would just need to find one that would interest me enough though.

I have this watch. I love It. Looks so good in person. Lume is horrible but not a big deal at all for me tbh
