On my wrist watch journey my initial goal was to own a vast collection. I never considered downsizing. Eventually I ignored several watches I thought I wanted.. Eventually I made the decision to sell watches I wasn't in love with or gift them friends and proteges to begin their own wrist watch journey (Inspiration I got you). Congrats again on the Breguet.
"I ignored several watches I thought I wanted", that is a very profound and disciplined realization, you have my respect. I spent years and so much money coming to that point, maybe too late. I also love how you gifted watches away to start others on the journey. Very noble and wise actions. Great comment, thank you for sharing that. Pinned until something shameful comes along! 😅 Have a great holiday season and catch you in the new year. Onwards, upwards and best regards, TGV
Your state of the collection is one on the few out here that I enjoy the most because of all the history that you know about your watches and how passionate and insightful you are about your collection. I wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas TGV.
Never commented in my life but you're the only one I watched every video of, for years now, sir. So I absolutely got to say, congratz for the grail, thank you for your work, and merry christmas TGV !
You inspired me, thank you so so much for the support and taking the time to share that.. Onward, upwards and have a wonderful Christmas! The very best of regards, TGV
I live in the north of Italy, but Firenze is the Italian city I love the most. My grandfather was from there, and it was also the last trip I made with my mother before she passed away. I still remember her enthusiasm in explaining the history of everything surrounding us....The kind of enthusiasm of a teacher who was passionate about her job. Great collection Tristano, davvero dei bellissimi orologi👌
Have a great Christmas TGV. I've been a long time viewer for about 6 years now and I get more enjoyment out of your videos than most TV shows and movies released recently.
Wow, that really is pure class of you to say. Thank you so much, that means the world to me. Here's to hopefully another 6 😎🥂 Have a wonderful holidays and new year! Best regards, TGV
Such a varied and well thought out collection. Every watch had a story and a reason, and it was telling that you had as much passion for your Casio as your Breguet. Aiming to hone your collection down to 12 is a great number to aim for. It'll give you focus and pleasure. I will follow suit. Thank you for entertaining and informing us. You always get me thinking, TGV. Keep on keeping on.
The OG wrist watch youtube channel. You bring so much nostalgia of some of the best times of my life. You have a special place in my heart TGV. Don't ever change. You've always remained honest, true, and classy to your viewers and it's so refreshing. Happy Holidays! 🎄 🎇
I've been following the channel for several years, and I think this is the best your collection has ever looked. Collection may have had more watches in the past, but the selection here is a fantastic collection of brands and watch types, superb.
A truly authentic and impressive collection Tristano. My grail watch is the Neo-Vintage Omega Seamaster 300 Mid Size watch circa 2005. I purchased this watch from my twin brother. Grail watches are not just about their monetary value but rather the stories they tell and their significance on our life journey. Thanks for sharing this beautiful collection.
Brilliant stuff as always. My collection grew to an unrealistic 20+ watches mainly thanks to the low yen ( almost monthly a watch arrived from Japan this year ). The best moment was. Wearing my Breitling Colt A17035 while flying on on a Douglas DC3 from Amsterdam to Groningen.
What can I say that hasn’t been said? A pure class collection from a giant in this space and just an overall standup gentleman. Your videos, knowledge and insight have impacted so many at every stage of their collecting journeys. All the best to you and yours, TGV. Onwards and upwards!
TGV, another great moment to share where your collecting journey has taken you. Thanks for another superb year of genuine enthusiasm. Onwards and Upwards!
You are the reason I started collecting. Couldn’t be more happy about all your success across your journey. Also wish our paths crossed while you lived in Philly too. Wishing you best of luck going into 2025!
For me, there's Breguet and everything else. I love the style, the heritage, the hand-made artistry,,,the buying experience appears to be worthy, too. Very impressed with your grail. Congratulations on the purchase of a lifetime...for now. Cheers!
Awesome collection! I love watching SOTC videos and seeing/hearing collectors' thoughts on why they selected and continue to own certain watches. Especially enjoy yours each year, thanks for continuing to share these.
TGV, I’ve been following your State of the Collection videos since 2021, and while your collection size has scaled down over the years, one thing I deeply admire about you-both as a watch reviewer and as a gentleman-is your steadfast commitment to what genuinely brings you joy. You’ve never been one to chase trends, and that authenticity is what makes you my favorite watch UA-camr. In fact, I’d go as far as to say you’re one of the best content creators out there because your content often extends far beyond watches. As a university student and budding watch enthusiast, it’s inspiring to see that you always include staples like a Casio and a Seiko in your collection. It reinforces the idea that watch collecting is personal and subjective-buy what you love and never feel the need to impress others. (Of course, as I always say, just steer clear of fakes!) Thank you for being a role model for collectors and for always staying true to yourself.
Hello Tristan, thank you for sharing your collection with us. You have greatly influenced me during my personal watch journey. Hoping you enjoy the holiday break and look forward to seeing you in the new year.
Awesome collection, TGV! Every year when you do the SOTC, I again realise how many watches that I have bought were inspired by you: Seiko Willard SPB237J1, multiple Squales, Casio DW290-1V Mission Impossible, Dan Henry 1972 Maverick, and so forth. I am still gutted that I missed out on your collab with Hanhart… the unobtainable Hanhart 417 ES Red Lion, which I had in my cart but failed to pull the trigger. Such is life, eh? Hope you had a happy Christmas, and may God continue to bless you in 2025.
A great 'sensible' collection, few overlaps and a great range. It's great to see the Mission Impossible Casio remains, this is a true modern classic that I also own. It might mot be my most worn Casio as my F-91W has than honour but it always makes me smile on the occasions that I have it on my wrist. I should consider downsizing my collection as I have a lot of overlap but that would mean letting go of some memories. We shall see. Thanks for sharing.
I own a large collection Of course I don’t ware them all. But now and then it’s great to re-discover a piece! I too, gifted several pieces and will sell many others. But, I am, at least for now, of the view that collection is just that - a collection and should be large enough.
Desperately need some top tier advice just received a xmas present from wife, beautiful Seiko snk366k1 gave it the usual Seiko shuffle to kick start and nothing.... I have that same Willard. I love that watch so much. My second favorite next to my Sinn UX which has more sentiment attached due to being a gift from the love of my life when we were in Frankfurt.
One often under appreciated aspect of TGV’s watches is his choice of straps. They always manage to help the watch pop while remaining understated and classy.👨🏻🍳💋
Funny, how this small channel affected me as a watch collector and fore most as a human being . Thank you so much ! Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

The collection is looking great. Thanks for adding the Victorinox Diver on your top ten. Added it to my collection last month….fantastic watch….Thanks, Lee
Love your content, it was (for better or worse) instrumental in my watch habit/addiction. Probably got 20+ now & they always symbolize a point in time, whether it be the day I got married, going on a trip or just a fun watch that me & my wife can jointly share. Keep up the good work. Bravo.
You have a great SOTC. I have had the luxury of watching your videos on your journey. To include the beautiful Breguet. Congratulations on getting there! 🤙
Merry Christmas! What a fantastic collection of watches! So many wonderful pieces but if I had to choose just one of them, I’d go with the Tissot and on that leather strap it just works! Yes I’m a pushover for a vintage inspired watch ever since you stated featuring them on your channel years ago.
I never "got" the appeal of explorers till this year. Now I just love them. Can't stop googling them and the Nivada super antarctic tropical. Merry Christmas from Australia TGV🎄
Class TGV, a great collection as always. Mine zeroed out this year selling my Lorier and buying a Grand Seiko leaving me with five. Thanks for the entertainment this year and have a great festive period. Looking forward to next year already.
Happy Holidays TGV. A very nice collection you have. The Grail is fantastic! I’ve enjoyed your videos for a couple years now and always look forward to what you are producing.
Love that Tissot Janeiro. Not typically my kind of watch but just something about it - the complex detail of the dial, the gold on black, the telemeter scale. Overall a very cool collection - interestingly eclectic as you say. Merry Christmas!
Thank you so much TGV for all of your wonderful content! Have a happy and restful holiday break as well! “Onwards and ever upwards”! Your watch enthusiast, (Nick L)
I’ll be gifting my first automatic watch to my brother and I am extremely excited. That love for watches and for sharing the passion to others is inspired by the community and The Urban Gentry! Happy holidays TGV and watch lovers!
Started last year with a SARB033, Tissot PRX, and a Cocktail Time. The SARB033 was influenced by your videos but unfortunately had terrible positional variance (6R15C) so it had to go. Ending the year with an SKX007, DW6900, and soon-to-arrive White Shadow :) still have the Cocktail Time as well. Needless to say you’ve inspired me a ton, Merry Christmas!
I think you pointed out everything great about the Explorer for the past ten years and many have caught up: classic design, incredible versatility, and it keeps the proportions from the original watch without giving in to some of the bulked up steroids and bling of other contemporary Rolex.
Your best SOTC yet! The collection has come so far TGV. I just wanted to leave a thank you to you for inspiring me to start a watch YT channel this year. My journey with watches this year has been taken to another level thanks in part to you! Although you dont know me all the best and wishing you a very happy new year 🎉
Amazing collection For me - this year has been a downsizing process. Always thought I liked having more, I realised I actually prefer wearing all my pieces. Down to 10 total including family pieces. Leaves me room for 2 more in 2025 🤣 12 is the max for me now
Great collection. A lot of depth & very diverse collection. Look forward to upcoming videos. All the best to you & your family for Christmas and the new year.
I find that this year I realized I no longer prefer digital watches over analog watches. I find my analogs are simply easier/faster to read for me and that I prefer that ease of use over the weight/looks/function any digital watch may in fact have. It is first thing in looking for future watches. Cheers Urbangentry, you are my favorite youtube channel. Nice taste!
@@jonathangriffiths2499 Subconscious. Interesting. I like that how you can just tell what time it is, without having to interpret as you mentioned.. cheers to you.
Well wishes to you and yours TGV! Busy times permits me few moments of leisure to visit one of my favorite channels. Am very pleased to pop in like this every once in a while, and it's almost like meeting that old friend, where you just pick up where you left off years ago. Great stuff as always, cheers!
Merry 🎄 and Happy Holidays ⌚✨. I still have my G-Shock Mudman from 2009, all worn and beat (it wasn't until 2018 that I got a GW-B5600 Tough Solar after watching one of your vids discussing your love of G-Shock 👍). Onwards and upwards 🥃.
Thank you Jessica!!! Lovely to hear from you. How you doing?!?!? My best to you this holiday season, have a great Christmas and New Years. T. P.s. Now I am doing live shows, we gotta get you on the channel one day. I owe you!
Lovely collection, TGV! I certainly get a lot of inspiration for your collection. I also like that it is not the conventional collection. I’m guessing that it’s a taste you refine over years of collecting :) Love it and looking forward to viewer collection videos again. I would definitely love to submit my video!
Happy Christmas fella x Hanhart 417 on the wrist, on the bund and I've not taken it off since getting it 7 weeks ago; so comfy and such quality. but I keep forgetting to wind it!
Your SOTC is an annual must along with Miracle on 34th St , Die Hard, Scrooge & Gavin & Stacey Xmas Special. Thanks for all the fun, info and expensive influences 🎉
A friend of mine got the Santos with the dark grey dial. The range of character from dressy to sporty with this piece is astounding. Merry Christmas and a happy new year TGV! Best regards Klaus
Let’s have a great Christmas 😊 Thank you TGV for you’re video’s! See you next year! Salut from Romania! P.S. On my wrist I have a little Casio square, Cartier Tank reissue! Just love it!
And so we are in the Middle of Hoilday sprit indeed. Your channel is always a pleasure if not just down right Urban Gentry and T Rex to attempt to insult your holy Grail purchase was a most masterful touch . And so thankyou for the true expression of watch collecting in pure class form and so a Happy New Year from Nashville TN 🦖
Love the video TGV. Been a fan of the channel for a long time, and appreciate what you do. I am closing 2024 out with 6 watches, and couldn't be happier. Two G-Shocks (soon to be one), two Bond-Omega divers (older SMP 300 and first gen Planet Ocean), a Seiko Arnie, and a vintage Tag quartz diver with a fully lumed dial. I realized that a small collection means a well-worn collection, so I aim to keep it minimalist. Happy holidays, and again, thank you for all that you do TGV.
You’re living the dream! O&U, I’m with you on the minimalist approach, especially with those awesome watches! Enjoy and thank you sharing that, I love reading comments like this. Happy holidays my friend! Best regards, TGV
This is my favorite form that TGV's collection has taken for a few years. Some very interesting watches there. And that Breguet definitely adds to its appeal. Just to point out one aspect he discusses here - he says about his Nivada Grentchen that it wears nothing like a Royal Oak, based on his experience as a Royal Oak owner. If my memory serves, TGV owned a 33mm quartz Royal Oak. So, of course, that Nivada is much bigger and heavier than the RO he owned, and will wear completely differently. However, it may wear very similar to a mechanical 39 to 41mm Royal Oak.

Everything about your collection screams class , well done Fratello.👍🏻 Rubber straps are dominant in my humble collection as well.
Happy Christmas. Your collection has a lot of soul; some really nice pieces you've got.
Lovely collection. Breguet classique is my grail. Happy New year tgv
What a classy collection my friend.
Thank you Jessica!!! Lovely to hear from you. How you doing?!?!?
My best to you this holiday season, have a great Christmas and New Years.

P.s. Now I am doing live shows, we gotta get you on the channel one day. I owe you!
Lovely collection, TGV! I certainly get a lot of inspiration for your collection.
I also like that it is not the conventional collection. I’m guessing that it’s a taste you refine over years of collecting :)
Love it and looking forward to viewer collection videos again.
Love you buddy. Merry Christmas!
A great collection. Always on the very TOP, TGV❤. Have a wonderful time! Merry Christmas ❤
A friend of mine got the Santos with the dark grey dial. The range of character from dressy to sporty with this piece is astounding.
Merry Christmas and a happy new year TGV!
Best regards
Klaus
Let’s have a great Christmas 😊 Thank you TGV for you’re video’s! See you next year! Salut from Romania! P.S. On my wrist I have a little Casio square, Cartier Tank reissue! Just love it!
I've kept steady at 8 watches. I have a number of microbrands I like but am waiting to see what they come out with in 2025. Love your videos! 😍
Best regards,
TGV
