It's good when Brits and Yanks can laugh at ourselves and each other and take it in fun. I remember Bob Newhart's 'phone call' sketch, where it was Sir Francis Drake ringing back home and proclaiming he'd discovered tobacco... pretty much the same thing and very funny.
Fianna @After Work Reactions reacted to the video and liked it, and as far as I know they are not ‘Brit’. So you’re theory is wrong I’m afraid, good day.
"To an American woman a period probably means something like Full Stop", much the same thing for american geezers. I think that one passed over your head.

Love to see you enjoying British comedy, and to see you laughing, we try to get on with anyone, except the French of course. Don’t know why, but we have tried our best over the years and they still are a hassle, my uncle used to think it was because they couldn’t understand each other. I’m from UK and think it’s really great that you find Al Murray funny, your own laugh is intoxicating. I can understand how some lines are difficult to understand, British humour. If you want a UK comedian for ladies try Sarah Millican. She is fantastic though you may find her accent challenging.
Sir, For American you really understand some British/English humor as I do with American humor I love Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In with Goldie Horn. The was a scene with American Troops all line up and the sergeant or officer was addressing them about a spy in the camp, there was this German round Specials on, in German uniform on the end of ranks saying the word “Very interesting, but stupid” that show had me in laughter.

@After Work Reactions, Love your reviews of Al and Micky Flanagan. I know this episode was recorded about a year ago, and your vocabulary of British/London slang will have expanded a lot since then, but Al's reference to 'At least we admit to being pissed!' at around 2:50 did seem to slip by you from your face. Separated by a common language, this slang expression refers to being drunk!!!!
Al Murray is brilliant highly intelligent, erudite and funny in a very British hard-hitting comedic way😁! He is a very observant person who sees humour in everything, even the most challenging topics/situations! Enjoy the humour and try not to be offended as that would be missing the point!
As some have mentioned, Al Mrray does most of his comedy via his comedy character The Pub Landlord. Seeing him live is a bit risky, especially if you sit near the front as he likes 'audience participation' !. They made a short lived sitcom on SKY TV here in the UK back in - I think- the late 90's or early 2000's called 'Time Gentleman Please' which was set in a pub and was basically a comedy vehicle for the Pub Landlord. I often think he's partly based on a much older, 1960's British TV character called Alf Garnett who was an outrageously bigoted for the time. A brilliant caricature, he was played by the very talented actor Warren Mitchell in the sitcom 'Till Death Us Do Part. The parallels between the two are obvious but Al's version is a bit lighter & more surreal at times.
Warren Mitchell was a pioneer but unfortunately too many people were fans because they agreed with his fictional satirical character's bigotry. A portion of both Mitchell and Murray's fans get uncomfortable when they see them in interviews talking about the characters they play. Both comic geniuses though IMO.
Alf Garnet in - To Death us do part - was then adopted to American TV and he became Archie Bunker. They could not be quite the same as the interracial conditions were not and are not the same, so Archie could not be so close to the edge on racial issues (Alf used the boundary as a tightrope). Booth men both very talented as previously stated. For Al Murray he plays a somewhat stereotypical character of a know it all Londoner in the form of a bar owner. In reality he is far from this and attended Oxford (EnglishEnglish for he went to a top end university) as Alister Murray. The interesting part for us is that we are in turbulent political times where Alister Murray would be typically on one side of the divide and the pub landlord on the other, so he keeps far away from that dominating subject. Almost a Berny Sanders voting ventriloquist and his Trump supporting dummy.
Great to see you laughing at British humour, you made me laugh as much as Al Murray it was so infectious. Try watching Micky Flanagan, this guy is so funny.
