You got most of it to be fair. The guys with the suits are from Pollock in Glasgow. Just replace ‘Pollock’ with the Bronx and you’ll get the gist. Kirkcaldy in Fife is so poor ‘even the Ethiopians held a concert for them’ (to raise money). The guy from Ireland was here ‘on the brew’ (meaning unemployed and on welfare) hence the boo’s from the crowd. England has historically had a beef with Ireland (tried to invade them and currently occupy the north of Ireland) and Scotland (remember Braveheart?) so Frankie, being Scottish said they’d have to team up and fight their way out as they were surrounded by the English. Also, Frankie meant, “if you stayed in a hospital too long with that face, they’d switch your life support machine off”. Anything else you didn’t get- drop a line and I’ll get back to you! And yes- everyone hates lawyers! lolz
"England has historically had a beef with Ireland (tried to invade them and currently occupy the north of Ireland) " The British did invade Ireland in the past. Also, Northern Ireland isn't occupied. It is a part of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. ;)
The fighting comment to get out was not because they were surrounded by English . That clip was filmed in Glasgow , the clue comes when he asks the guys from pollock , what are you doing walking around glasgow in a tailcoat . Glasgow has 2 very strong distinct cultures with much sectarianism .
“You’ve got a blank face there pal, if you held that face for long enough in a hospital, you’d get switched off”. Basically comparing him to someone on life support, quite a lifeless face 😂
Scottish pronunciations for Hospital sounds like Hooos-pa-til and I'm 10 minute drive to Glasgow. I travel a lot and I love to through out my accent so nobody understands just to se people's faces.
I like that you admit when you don't get a joke. I've seen american reactors laugh to the "2002 celtic away top" line as if they have any idea what hes talking about.
This guy's laugh its contagious and its great that he seems to get and laugh so heartily at our British/Irish humour. In these times especially, its so important to have a good sense of humour. And to share and be a part of it.
The Ethiopian joke you got right. It’s making fun of how we normally have concerts to raise money for starving Africans, but instead it’s the roles reversed 😂
@Birdman Junior Heh. I jus today was watching an American series where a woman said "I spent some time in London when i was younger. My parents told me to stay away from Islington and the bad boys around there. We went anyway and smoked cigarettes with them and stuff" Islington ?!.. Reputations for Bad Boys ?! WHAT?!!! Early 90's... Shoulda been down the Brixton love with some REAL Bad Boys. Same series, someone impersonated Banksy in an American art gallery and didn't even put on a English accent. Everyone knows he's a Brit !... Like a high end Gallery would be fooled by someone dressed slightly "Street" saying they were Banksy but SPOKE with an American accent?! Annoyed the shit outa me.
Josh, I’m chuffed to bits I found this channel. You’re great to watch and intelligent with it too. And don’t apologise for things like too many uploads or talking too much - people must enjoy what you do either way. You make people happy! Thanks for making the last few miserable months a lot more fun!
Glasgow used to have the highest murder rate in Europe and the most gangs of any city in the UK. It’s the biggest city in Scotland and home to Frankie Boyle himself
09:38 he said if he made that face for long enough in a hospital, he’d get switched off, as in they’d turn off the life support machine because of his dead expression.
It’s currently 5:25am in the UK. My sleeping pattern is terrible and my mental health is taking a battering but watching your channel has been a massive distraction during this pandemic. I must of watched this Frankie Boyle video a few times prior to you reacting to it but you laughing made this even more hilarious than I remembered it to be. Keep up the videos man and thank you!
I can commiserate! My depression/anxiety keeps me up and I love these comedy reaction videos for taking my mind out of a big negative spiral, helping me relax with a little 🌳😉, and eventually get to sleep. My nightly routine now and the guys are one of the probably only 3 channels I'm a regular at. (If Josh and Taylor are reading this, you guys are awesome!) I think you'll continue to find this a big relief! It reminds me of watching funny stuff with my cousins! ❤
I love the effort and willingness you have to "get" a joke instead of just dismissing it. Wish more people were like that, the world would be a happier place
The guys in the suits you basically understand, Glasgow is the rough city in Scotland. So it’s surprising to see people from Glasgow in suits, rather than tracksuits 😂
Love your reaction.... Spot on with the assessments......keep enjoying! What you will realise about British comedy is that ' taking the piss out of each other is a national pastime '! We love it...
Funny how some of our Scottish shows need subtitles in England, but Josh can understand most of what Frankie Boyle says. Glad you liked him, he makes me laugh hard too 😂❤ Also - I live about 20 miles from Glasgow, it's got a good side and a bad side, very diverse, but years back it was all tenement houses and rough areas. People from round glasgow and where I'm from are known for being very self deprecating and down to earth, which is why we can laugh at ourselves so easily. Some of the best are from Glasgow, Billy Connolly and Kevin Bridges. I'm also a fan of Limmy, but a lot of people say his comedy is too surreal, he's a marmite kind of guy, you either love him or hate him. 😁❤ Also - at 12:40 he says arseholes are attracted to him the way store detectives are attracted to a 2002 Celtic away top. Celtic and Rangers are the 2 main rival football teams in Scotland, and both sides have a lot of bigoted fans, as apparently Rangers fans are Protestant, and Celtic fans are Catholic, there's a lot of religious bigotry in football, and both sides have problematic thug fans. It's getting much better than it used to be, but its still a problem unfortunately.
jeremy kyle show is like the UK version of jerry springer....the joke about ethiopia holding a rock concert was exactly how you described it.....like Live Aid in 1986, just backwards haha...loved the vid dude
To me, the best part about the "Benjamin Button" segment is that this interaction took place less than two minutes after he walked onto the stage at one of his live shows. Two minutes! No easing into it, just that segment.
If you haven't already checked it out, maybe have a listen to Prometheus 2, which is a collection of articles that Frankie wrote for The Guardian (UK daily left of centre broadsheet newspaper), and narrates himself. The whole thing is 5 hours long, but each article can be heard in isolation. There are some jokes, but they're more of an adjunct to the points he makes on current affairs topics. He's a bright guy, as you've probably realized... well worth a listen.
Spent the last week or so watching your videos dude. The laughter is so infectious and really upping my mood during lockdown. Keep up the good work fella.
Glasgow is the most friendly and beautiful city on Earth where we hardly EVER stab our neighbours, OR leave them lying on the sidewalk. What I like about Frankie, as another Glasgow Boy, is how he keeps his material moderate by our standards. Also, he said about that Guy's soulless expression was, if he was in a Hospital long enough with it, they would switch him off. Finally, LOVE your Channel, now a subscriber. My advice, is all the toys to attract children ? In Glasgow we use a net. When they are not stabbing YOU ! .
just found this channel... dont normally watch reaction vids... but FRANKIE .... and your laughter.... the universe makes perfect sense now... thanks for this :)
Love your reaction to the woman in the audience at @9:00. It’s like you’re laughing at her reaction, and I’m laughing at your reaction to her reaction 🤣
Glasgow's a great city. Frankie will always find a wonderful put-down for any city, town or village named. I am not going to mention my home town, though... I fear the worst! Great to see you enjoying Mr Boyle so much.
My girlfriend and I have been watching so many of these vids in the last few weeks. So good. Really loving your reactions and little insights to your life and upbringing. Will watch more!
You're great, kid from Birmingham. UK. This 'research' of yours is going to make the world smaller and nicer. I'm jealous I never thought of it. I've put it on Facebook.
Hey Josh. Glasgow is the largest city in Scotland and has some deprived areas. Frankie Boyle was born and still lives in Glasgow. His comedy is very UK based (as you can a test with not knowing the references he uses in his jokes).

The brew joke... wasnt it cause he was on the piss????
@@paulg5811 nah on the brew is basically on the dole
This man has the most contagious laugh I've heard in forever. Love this!
Pure joy!!
It's sooo good to have a laugh !!! You deff have a contagious laugh...my face aches from the smiling. Stay safe ol' mate !
That's main reason I watch 😂
Hes the first thing i watch when i wake up and im good to go for the day 😂
his laugh is great, sometimes I laugh at him laughing
Saw Frankie Boyle live once.
There was stampede for the back seats in the club before he came on lol
Fuck that! I'm a 6ft 20ish stone guy, id be right up the front letting him rip me to shreads 🤣🤣
😆😆
Those dreaded words of 'what do you do for a living?' lol fuck that
“You’ve got a blank face there pal, if you held that face for long enough in a hospital, you’d get switched off”. Basically comparing him to someone on life support, quite a lifeless face 😂
I guess it's the accent...
"Horse pool"
Scottish pronunciations for Hospital sounds like Hooos-pa-til and I'm 10 minute drive to Glasgow. I travel a lot and I love to through out my accent so nobody understands just to se people's faces.
Man, Frankie Boyle makes me proud to be Scottish. The man is a comedic SAVAGE

Basically jeremy kyle show is like the jerry springer show and hackney is a poor area in London like the projects in usa.
He did do a US version too
Hackney has been gentrified to shit now lol, it ain't poor anymore
Lol hackney's full of little posh girls that don't wash nowadays. Nothing ghetto about it
@@lloydymk2013 THIS!!!! ^^^^^^

Now, the real test: Frankie Boyle - Michael Jackson's Children's Hospital.
eeeheeee
Omg😂😂😂😂👌
😂🤣💀
The greatest bit he's ever done 😂
Classic joke

You're doing unbelievably well at understanding as much as you do, dude.
I’m from Glasgow, it’s a great city but we have a dark history of violence, drugs and murders that we’re trying to shake off.
Frankie's not really helping with that lol
@Bob Dobalina it's a sign of affection. That's Glasgow cleaned up.
Glasgow's only half the scary city it used to be or at least the centre of it is.
Bob Dobalina think yourself lucky, most people would of been stabbed too. But we would phone you an ambulance
Gaz could agree more😂
Glasgow used to have the highest murder rate in Europe and the most gangs of any city in the UK. It’s the biggest city in Scotland and home to Frankie Boyle himself

After Work Reactions You’re welcome. Really love your videos, keep up the good work!
Never sit in the front row at a Frankie Boyle concert
It’s great to see someone over the other side of the pond find a real enjoyment from watching UK comedy.
Your laugh is so infectious! Ten out of ten for getting Frankie Boyle, he is absolutely savage and never pulls his punches.
“If u held that expression for long enough in a hospital you’d get f***ing switched off”
If he made that face for long enough in a hospital, they would switch him off 🤣
Yeah, basically turn off life support. 😂
Love that he heard it as “horse pool”.
Mate, your laugh is so infectious. You never fail to bring a smile to my face and that is hard coz I'm a miserable swine

crying with laughter at your response to the mermaid gag!

Luke Hodgkinson and pollok is a large housing estate in Glasgow which is also considered a rough area of that city

Love your videos mate, good to see a yank enjoy British comedy some of the best in the world
Thanks so much bud I've been really enjoying it for sure .
I don't think Frankie would define himself as a brit.
@@peterjessiman7005 doesn't really matter what he'd define himself as, Scotland is in Britain and therefore he is British.

"if you make that face in a hospital long enough, you'd get switched off".
Well a Glasgow kiss is a headbutt to someone's nose.
"How did you get here? On a raft made from turnips. "
That's kind of overstating the resources available in Paisley. They probably had to leave Renfrew just to find fresh vegetables.
The joke about the guy from Belfast is that religious tensions between Protestants & Catholics in Northern Ireland is exactly the same in Glasgow.
To me, the best part about the "Benjamin Button" segment is that this interaction took place less than two minutes after he walked onto the stage at one of his live shows.

The Jeremy Kyle show was like Jerry Springer
Your laughing is making me crack up even more 😂 great reaction!
"people of Etiopia is holding a rock concert for them" is refering to Live Aid from 1984 with Bob Geldoff
You did well to understand this,I’m from the U.K. and there’s bits I find hard to comprehend.
Love your reaction to the woman in the audience at @9:00. It’s like you’re laughing at her reaction, and I’m laughing at your reaction to her reaction 🤣

I'm pretty sure this man was so smart he couldn't be matched he got low
2:50 they brought it on themselves bringing their kids to a grown up comedy show :D He was amazed there's kids in the audience so he nuked them
The Jeremy Kyle show is like Jerry Springer only if it was somehow actually trashier and Jerry shouts abuse at the scum on the show.

Jared Young no he doesn’t, he still lives in Glasgow - I am his neighbour, I can see his front door from my kitchen!

The joke was : "if you held that expression long enough in a hospital they'd switch you off" the man has a blank expression like a comatose patient.
This is so funny. I would absolutely recommend "life's too short " it's Ricki Gervais working with Warwick Davis. I promise you will love it!!
