    Since your supposed to be able to pay off a loan with out penalty, you should talk to the finance company your going with and see if they want to take over the loan just after the purchase. That way the finance person can think they'll get their commission.

  • @okjd159

    The finance guy gets a kick back for those who do the financing and a percentage of any thing they sell on top of your purchase.
    From your conversation with your DMV and the finance guy, people should contact the local DMV before purchase of the vehicle.
    Also contact your insurance agent prior to the purchase of the vehicle to make sure you have insurance on the vehicle as soon as the ink dries on the deal.

      Usually all insurance, if you buy a car or truck, the first 30 days is covered automatically

    Got my 2018 2500 Megacab 4x4 from the same dealer you did after seeing your videos. Paid cash. Got it for $1k more than you paid off MSRP. Still waiting for my title, Registration and plates, was told Oregon can take up to 6 weeks so i drive with a expired OR Trip Ticket until they are mailed to me. Chris George was a awesome salesman @ Lithia Spokane, would recommend him! Lovin my new Ram Cummins!

      BADASS! Congrats man. Apparently no one cares about expired trip permits on brand new vehicles.

      PNWreckage no worries now, just saw today when the title plates & regis. were mailed and will be in my mailbox any day now. Put a Not For Hire plate on our 1500 was passed by CHP he didn’t seem to care either. Maybe you are right, new vehicles like a rental keeps the road bandits with badges and guns from harassing one.

    The best line is “The lender wants you to protect the purchase so you need the extended warranty and gap protection.”

    the finance guy knew all of this, it was his passive aggressive way of pissing you off because you didn’t know the in’s and outs of his job and he didn’t make any money. i had a finance guy do the same thing.

    Do you feel you should have bought the single wheel 3500 to get the better transmission? Or do you feel because you use the truck as a people transporter not a work truck that you got the truck you need.

    • @PNWreckage
      @PNWreckage  7 років тому +1

      +John Davidson Valid question. I thought long and hard about it before going with the 2500 instead of the SRW 3500. We tow weekly on average and sometimes several times per week. I wanted the 4x4 Off Road package and could not get that in the 1 ton segment, or the multi link coil rear because I like the ride (yes, I'm a baby). The tipping point for me was A) The additional cost of the 3500 and B) The additional cost of the Aisin on top of that. A built 68RFE can be had for less money and without the compromises in my situation.

    I've seen documenting fees at $1800. that's so somebody at the dealer can go to dmv and stand in line to register your vechicle, What?, there's no line at my unpopulated county in Texas. it only cost $75, taxes on a new truck $800, be ware of doc fees.

    unless wa dol changed the policy, the dealer should have given you a 30-day temp. but the cross-state thing may play into it but it seems like someone being lazy

    • @PNWreckage
      @PNWreckage  7 років тому

      +Shane Morris I agree it seems like laziness and I actually thought it might have been the finance guy's final middle finger since he didn't make any money on the sale of my truck. OR DMV confirmed that WA is only allowed to issue 3 day temp permits if it's not a WA vehicle.

    I'm an ex sales guy and I hate talking to sales people. Most are morons and when they say they can't move much, I'm like I'm outa here. I bought my dodge laramie 2500 for five hundred over cost (canada prices) cause I knew the manager. Bought a toyota after that, like five years later, and the screwed me good. I fkn hate dealers.

      I'm a Starbucks fanatic. I've had a Gold Card for as long as I remember. Nowadays I just get a bag of their coffee and make it with the drip at work. It's the smoothest coffee I've ever head, no acid, very little tar, kinda sweet depending on the concentration.

    Did you have to pay the WA sales tax. When we moved here in WA, we bought my wifes car from an Oregon dealer. Since we still had property in MT(which also has no sales tax),and we were planning on moving back, we put MT tags on it. Long story short, some WA dickbag turned us in for having MT plates on it and we ended up having to pay WA sales tax, and put new WA tags on the car, which we bought in Oregon.

      +jason 3MP People are so great... As an OR resident I did not have to pay the WA sales tax, thankfully. That sounds like a pain in the ass.

    • @SpetznazSamson
      @SpetznazSamson 7 років тому +1

      You don't have to pay sales tax in WA if you bought your car 90 days prior to moving it (car) into state of WA. Car must be registered at the address outside of WA too. If you live in WA and bought car outside of state you HAVE to pay sales tax. It is crazy but even businesses if they bring heavy equipment (bulldozer, etc) into state to do work they have to pay sales tax on it too!!!

    I think he just screwed you. It's standard in Washington to give a 30 permit. The three day is a trip permit and generally not used for new car or even used car purchases.

      Having purchased through them in the past, like two years ago, they are really proud of their oil packages. STCU gives the dealer a flat fee of 125 when the dealer does the paperwork. I generally like to get a purchase order and deliver a check when I shop for cars. I also purchased a Ram Rebel a week ago through that other dealer you were speaking about in Idaho. Lithia would not give me any numbers for my trade and did not have any incentives for using them again. The other dealer went about 1800 above Kelly Blue Book for the trade. I did use the other dealer for financing, they tried to get me to use their lender (BOA) but I declined and insisted on my CU. I went in on the next work day and got the preferred rate.

    All dealer finance people are liars and sharks that I have ever dealt with. For the last ten years I've enjoyed the hell out of playing their games and working the shit out of them to then say "just kidding, I don't need your loan because I'm paying cash". The look on their face is priceless. It's my revenge for all the times I got screwed before I got smart with MY money.
