Bro. KILLLLLLLLED it today at the dealer. He about lost his mind when we said we arent paying the doc fee. We had been there hours. He said there was "no way...every dealer has a doc fee...." I said it's a nothing fee, take it off or we leave. He snatched the paper off the table and we got up and drove way. He called within 2 minutes....we went back and he said we would split it. I said no we wont. And he took it off. He was big mad
Hey can you put up a list of dealerships/sales people both of you recommend, something like that would give the public a huge resource. Personally I live in San Diego Ca and can use a referral to a dealership that will do me right, thank you
Could you do a raw video of you going to a random dealership or even trying to purchase a used car from a private seller and use tatics we could use to haggle down prices
Great video....i do have a question i have 5 payments in my 16 challenger its a lease..so i went to the dodge dealership today they have 2016 challenger scatpack shaker..the is immaculate has 6000k and they wamt $36995..so they make me an offer the breakdown thier accessorie fee ..for 399.. fee just didn't say anything for another$499 and they say thier ganna pay lease off just to get me out early on my lease and guess what they. Added that 5 payments. ..its just unbelievable..any inputs ...and how much should i pay for that car....thanks...
"You can go to any other 4,000 Chevy dealers in the country" is so easily forgotten. People get stuck on one lot and forget there is another dealership within an hour drive in any direction. Thank you!
Except the fact that new cars are harder and harder to get. Often you can go somewhere else, but have to compromise on color or trim or something else. We sell at msrp, and do not have a bunch of hidden fees, but if someone comes in on a new car and doesn’t want to pay the price of the car, we may move just a bit, but for the most part it’s “see ya later”.! Someone else will buy it. And there are ways around the survey too. A lot of the tips either aren’t true anymore or never were. Especially not in smaller areas
@@drethom087 SO right it is a sellers market now and the biggest joke is the Market Adjustment that manufactures are allowing ALL dealers to use with Toyota and HONDA both coming out and saying how happy they are with their dealers making more money and not having to inventory cars on their lots for months anymore.

Weeeell it just speaks volumes on his lack of integrity. Man is figuratively pooping where he eats! For him to say that his dealership works in tip top conditioning and they are not ripping off anyone is BS! The chair blocking the nitrogen machine is a joke to say they don't use it, give me break! His $300 document fee IS a ripoff and if you stand your ground as a consumer, you should walk out of the dealership WITHOUT that fee on your paperwork! I am surprised he didn't get fired for doing this video while he was working! He is double dipping on pay (YTube pay and dealer pay) and again, his lack of integrity makes him a sleazeball salesman like they all are!
@@pageroo9644 Within the means of respect toward your comment, I say "Lack of integrity my a**!" I understand what you mean [why work there if you're gonna rat them out?] Out of anything, he has great integrity just for providing this video for we people! @@Mr_T_Abe I agree that I don't think he is a bad guy, but the fact that they have a nitrogen machine in the corner means that they were at one time promoting the nitrogen filled tires. Why would they go though the trouble and expense to buy that machine otherwise? I would even suspect that most dealers that upcharge for nitrogen filled tires use nothing but regular air and just add the green valve stem caps.
Dude. Thanks. My son is serving on active duty in the Army and is wanting to purchase a new vehicle. Your tips have saved him and I from making a $10k dollar mistake. The local dealership that “caters to active duty soldiers” added a $5k fee to the msrp because of a “shortage of inventory”, another $1800 fee for dealer prep, another $800 for processing fee, $899 for “ceramic coating”, $999 for nitrogen filled tires. All of this while advertising on Car Gurus for 10k below MSRP with manufacturer rebates. Once the buyers order was presented, I began to ask questions about each fee and what that fee was for. This sent both the sales person and his manager into a scramble. The dealership refused to negotiation beyond removing the nitrogen and the ceramic coating. I then presented them with the Car Gurus snapshot that even showed them the exact vin number for the truck we wanted to purchase to justify what my requests were to remove the additional fees. Needless to say we walked away from the deal. Dealerships are on every corner in towns surrounding our military bases and it’s sad to feel that they are almost bordering on predatory lending to our service men and women. So I wanted to say thank you for the content you provide that allowed me to know when to walk away. Greatly appreciate what you’re doing.
Notify the base or the command so that they can add that dealership to the "Off-limits" list where members of the US military will be prohibited from entering.
They do target young military members away from home. It’s very predatory. But like the comment above you can notify the base and they can issue an alert about the business or make it off limits.
Never buy a car within 20 miles of a military base and if you do and they pull that kind of stunt, you report them to the base and ask for them to be considered to the Off-Limits list.
I bought a car Saturday and used all of Chevy dudes tips (I watched almost all of his videos). I negotiated for hours, got $5000 off by spotting bullshit fees and bringing up the survey, and walked out with the car I wanted at the price I wanted
I didn’t quite understand what ChevyDude meant by “The Survey” could you elaborate please. I am a 20 year old looking into buying my first car and I’m just trying to be as informed as possible. I appreciate any help! 🙏🏻
If you mean @ 12:06, that’s like making sure to meet manufacturer standards. So it’s like a normal survey you take where you give your opinion on things. They want to make sure they’re meeting the standards of the car makers and such so they have positive responses/scores on their surveys, which is good for their reputation and thus makes more money. If something else you were referring to, I don’t know where in the video you mean. :)
Okay note for later.. Don’t pay: destination fees (unless you have the car shipped directly to you), advertising fees, vin etching/theft protection, nitrogen air, minor enhancements (pinstripes) for used cars, additional dealer markup (don’t pay over msrp), unwanted accessories, credit life insurance, dealer prep
@@AdrianA-yo8jd Yes. Do it in an email to the dealer so you can document that you did it within the 3 day cooling off period. And copy yourself. They will likely not return your money directly to you, but take it off the principal of the loan if it was financed. Be prepared for them to talk you into keeping it. They must, if you document it in an email, cancel it if you requested to cancel. And also contact the company that sponsors the theft protection to notify them, too. If there's a website, go there and make the request. Do it soon! BTW, how much did you pay?
Hey man, I really appreciate this video. It was extremely helpful as I was a first-time car buyer. I just bought a car at a Toyota Dealership two weeks ago and they tried to sell me everything that you mentioned in this video. I told them exactly what you said. They then walked me over to a car and tried to show me "See this car has tint, it has this door handle protection, and the nitrogen aired tires which isn't free for the dealership. This is stuff our customers usually want so we put it on every car and therefore that's what those fees are." I respectfully told them "I truly believe that should be included with the cost of the car, and therefore I won't be able to make a deal unless those fees are taken off." He then said "Well let me go talk with the owner of the dealership and see if I can do that." He came back within 5 minutes and said "You're lucky, we got them taken off for you." This video seriously saved me 4,000 dollars off these crazy bogus fees! Yes seriously, FOUR THOUSAND! I could tell by the look on their faces that they weren't happy with it, but I guess that's how I know I truly got the best deal I could've gotten. So thank you so very much for this video!
apoajok obang $4k was all the bogus fees they had tacked on to top of the price of the vehicle. Such as a $2k “Security” package and a $2k “Toyota Premium Package” which was the tinted windows, nitrogen aired tires, pinstripe, etc..

Keeping my Nissan Altima 3.5 SR until 200K miles for sure. This car salesmen like 15 yrs ago..what are you willing to pay for the car?" asked me. Literally watching all your videos before i go get a new car, and LEARNING SO MUCH!!! Dealerships are the most intimidating thing to me, as a 23yr old young woman. I feel like they can absolutely tell i have no idea what im doing and will try to take advantage of that. Ive spent the last week comparing deals online, doing my research, talking to my bank, and watching these videos!! I feel more prepared but still nervous lol. But so excited to get a new-used mom car😄
Went Awesome! I got a 2019 rogue for a great deal. And i was able to knock off a few bogus dealership fees, one that was $600!!! thanks to these videos!
I'm a woman and I'm buying my first car ever and I just know already that I'm going to be taken advantage of by some sales dude. 😫 This is the kinda guy who I wish I had with me!
Do yourself a big favor. Only buy a 3 - 4 year old car. It will look very new and you will save thousands. Cars lose value while real estate goes up in value. Now you saved a down payment on a townhouse. Good luck and have fun.
Don't talk in a test drive. You will be distracted. Drive in silence as if you are with yourself. When you're driving by yourself you notice things more and when something seems a bit off. Concentrate.
I always ask to take it for a solo test drive, and the first thing I do is take it to the local mechanic and ask them to do a through top to bottom, inside and out check (even if I have to pay the mechanic yo do it) and have them give me an itemized list (on paper) of what's wrong with it, that way I know if I want to deal with that issue (or those issues) and it helps me look up an appropriate value of what the vehicle is really worth... for example, my little brother was looking at a car we found what he wanted, took it for a solo drive and took it to the mechanic, we found out it had been in an accident on the passenger side, around the back door, the frame was bent even though the outside of the car looked fine, we took the car back and told them it wasn't what we were looking for (since it really wasn't after finding that out), we also paid the mechanic $50 for looking at it because we told them we were planing to buy it if it was worth it, and apparently the mechanic normally charges $150 for the check we had done, but because we were only checking to see if it was worth buying it, the mechanic gave us a discount (please note, not all shops will give a discount for that)
Dude I just bought a new truck with this advice. Saved myself thousands. Thank you for the advice. They didn't want to take off some stuff so I walked out. They came out after me and said they'll work with me to make the sale.
So let’s say based on the scenario you showed us is legit. My trade in VS the negotiated price with all the snake oil taken out leaves me with a 3500 -4000 balance. Now I’ve not told them whether I’m gonna finance or pay cash no matter how many times they’ve asked me. Instead of financing let’s say 4000 can I use my visa or AMEX to pay that balance as if I were giving them 4000 cash. Perhaps I get some points or some card benefits from purchases and that how I wanna pay and walk out with the keys. Also if there’s no balance then there’s no reason to run my credit correct because even though I’m in the finance office and I’ve now said I’m paying off the balance after all number have been agreed to by both parties.
Ha! I had a guy literally throw the keys to my trade in on the dealership carport roof once. I started to dial 911... manager came out, lot guy got them down. I got my deal.

I owned and ran Midas Muffler between 2011 to 2015. Peter, good idea. When I came to FL from PA I was shocked at how corrupt these dealers are. I tried to stay in the business but finally left. It was that or drink myself to death. They all read from the same playbook, if you know what I mean. Proof that you are a good person........

Just stumbled on your channel and videos today and wow… per your advice, I did not disclose any information that I had regarding fees because I had a trade-in. Waited for them to give me a good trade in value and then hit them with the “We’re not paying accessory fees or prep fees” and it’s like the life just left the salesman. Ultimately everything you suggested worked. Thank you for taking the time to make these videos.
This confirmed my suspicions. Ford dealer in VA tried to nail me with 900 in processing an 1200 in Prep. Told em I couldn't pay 2K in fake fees. Guy acted like I was crazy and I backed out. Glad I did.
Jonathan Barker a car dealership tried to get me only $500 for my 04 mustang that was in excellent condition. The only mechanical problem was my tie rods needed replacing. The guy said “I tried to get my manager to bump it up to $800 but he wouldn’t let me” I walked right out of there

I HATE buying a car from a dealership. Hate the whole haggling process. BUT If I was buying a Chevy, I’d buy from this guy. Seems very professional for a car salesman!
Haggling isn't as bad as people make it out to be. It's as easy as walking out the door, literally. Be willing to walk away. There are a zillion car dealerships out there with a zillion and a half different vehicles. If you aren't OK with the number presented to you, walk away. Tell the Chevy guy, "I'll think about it, but first I'm going to look at Ford." Suddenly things are $2,000 cheaper.
I didn’t see this video before I bought my truck, but I did exactly what u said and I’m so proud of myself. P.S. if you’re negotiating a car always say you’re going to lunch and think about it, they will 95% of the time call u and give u the price u want while you’re at lunch.
Getting up and walking out is the best leverage. Also I have no problem giving them my phone number cause I know that every time they call and leave a message I am further in control of the deal.
I can somewhat agree but some dealerships can care less about your money they mostly care about who can pay first. I took a weekend to get a check for the car I wanted and they sold it to someone else when I told them I’ll have it ready for Monday. I was so pissed off but luckily they had another car like the one I wanted so it all worked out.
Things are different now with the shortage, but I had a dealership try to gouge me with a $4500 "market adjustment" fee. When I told him he'd have a sale if he removed that fee, he refused, sat back and crossed his arms, and said. I walked and picked up my the identical car 2 weeks later for about $5000 less.
My wife and I are going to attempt to trade her car in next week. I'm glad you brought up NADA. I completely forgot about them. I was going to ask a lower price for our car, but since you brought up the NADA, I valued our car on there and KBB. I'm averaging the average amount for the NADA, and the low end amount for KBB, and that's what I'm asking for our car. Given how much I've seen them priced on the internet at other dealers, I don't think what I'm asking is too much. The dealer we're going to, with a little cosmetic work, will make a nice profit on it. Something else I wanted to add, is I bought a truck in 2018. The price was $19795. I asked the salesperson if they could come down on their price. He went into this whole schpeal that "Well, we've had people come in from New York and Utah to buy our vehicles because of the prices because we have the lowest prices. We're confident this is the price." I pulled out my cell phone and responded "I screenshot this truck last night at another dealership about 30 miles away. It has less miles than yours for a lower price. If you can't come close to it, I'll drive over to that dealership, and buy that truck today for that price." They went from $19795 to $17500. Knowledge is power.
Because if you don't wait till the end to get rid of those bogus fees, the dealership will make them reappear in a different place under a different name.
theres only ONE WAY to buy a car. Out the door price! You give them an out the door offer. They take it or you walk. They can put numbers on any line on paper and call them whatever they want! The time that you present your offer, beginning or end, means nothing! You are in control, not the dealer. If you arent, you lose, every time.
There's a saying in business. He who speaks first loses. Let them lay out all the figures in front of you, then cross off everything you refuse to pay for. Doc fee is usually the biggest scam charge. Its pure profit. Don't let them tell you otherwise.
@@Mach141 thats good advice I follow too. They rig numbers in all kinds of ways to confuse and overcharge the consumer. If you sit there trying to understand it all, you'll leave hours later exhausted and ripped off.
That's how I work it. Give me the out the door price. If I like it, I buy, if not, I walk. I make it clear to the sales jerk that I am not going to haggle and play their numbers game. I have walk from many sales people. Virtually every one of them is a lying shyster.
Brucev7 anybody can sell a car to someone that says “I want that one” my grandmother don’t speak English and spot people like that. It takes skills, art and hard work to make gross
Amen to that! Sales people need to deliver like in the old school days deliver what is promised. @@Wanda_Jannette because being nice and honest won't pay the bills, simple. I used to do the same thing when I worked for At&t selling phones. I appreciate all you shared and said with the exception of the "girls in the back". Yall, this why women dislike dealing with car salesman...it is the mansplaining misogynisy always on display.
I’m nervous on getting my first car and as a woman with 0 knowledge of cars it makes it overwhelming, with this information I learned today it made me more confident. Thank you! I really appreciate this information !!
I’d bring someone with you to get your first car, preferably someone with more experience with cars and buying them and such so you won’t be scammed. I noticed dealers don’t try to pull as much bs if you have someone there who knows their stuff
Don't go by yourself. Unfortunately, and it's sad that I even have to say this, it's better if you go with a man. Also, don't accept the first offer. They will always lower the price for you. Just have them give you numbers and say you'll consider it, that you have a couple of other options to look at and then they'll call you and give you a better price. Another trick is, have someone drive you there. Don't have them look at your car. I got more for my car than it was worth by doing an online appraisal. Had I taken it to the dealer they would've given me nothing.
Maybe because he’s not gonna let his kids get jerked around by other sales people when it comes to making big decisions, like buying a car 🚗 or a house 🏡. That’s awesome 😎
Thank you for your honesty- something rarely seen in a car dealership. People hate being deceived and that's exactly what most sales people do. All "fees" are dishonest fees. If people were honest it would be included in the price already. People would rather see the price be the real price and not a lie in order to deceive people out of more money. Everyone who does this should be ashamed of themselves. I don't know how they can look themselves in the mirror and feel like a good moral person. Karma will come back to bite all deceivers. Enjoy!
Why? Because you are a female? Because you are single? That's the problem right there. It's not hard to buy a car. People like chevydude make you think its hard. Literally anyone with an internet connection can scan the web for a good deal (car gurus, truecar, etc) and if you've got good credit, check with a couple of online banks to see what the going rates are. It's not that hard. Just because you are a female doesn't mean you lack common sense. You can do this, don't let people sell you on the hype that everyone is out to get you and that women can't make decisions for themselves. Don't let the Man brainwash you. You go girl!
Call at least five dealerships and then choose. I saved over $5,000 on a brand new car bought after January 1st. Let the dealers worry about why they didn’t get the sale. You can do it. Also, when you walk in the door tell them right off the bat that you want the lowest rate they can offer or you will walk out. (Just make sure you have places to go.) I got an awesome deal and don’t even worry about the woman thing. Today it doesn’t matter. Women can be even tougher than men these days when buying a car. Guys usually have more money and they don’t always bargain with the dealership. You actually have an advantage! Good luck with your purchase!

I own a small used car dealership in NW WI. I can't believe that all these fees even exist! We, my husband and I, started our dealership to provide a buying experience we wish we had been able to get from other dealers. We are only 2 years young and we are slowly growing on that concept. I am glad to see other dealerships, bigger dealerships use honorable practices to treat people right. My hat off to you, sir!
My brother doesn’t have the best credit and they gave him a 14% interest rate lol and they said they can get him to a 12% the next day but he can buy the car right away. He was sketched out and told them to make sure but they kept trying to convince him to buy. For that reason he said he was out, the next day they got him down to a 7% interest rate lol, 2 days later they texted him that they got him a 4% interest rate. Dealerships are snakes always taking as much as possible.
I had a dealer near me pull shit like that. I ran my credit and had pre approval but did not tell them. My credit score is very good. They started the payments out at 14%. Acted like I would not know. It made me so mad I have not went back to look at vehicles anywhere at this point.
It was opposite for me. They told me I can get a 6.9% through their lender. I was approved by my bank for 7.9%. So I took their offer. Approximately 10 days later, they said I was denied for 6.9% and the best they could get me was 10.9%. At that point, the offer from my bank expired. So I told them that won't fly since it upped my monthly by appx $85. So the only option was to return the vehicle, where they tried charging me a "restocking fee" of some sort of $900+. I eventually got it waived after giving them hell, but I'll never do business with them again.
@@jamaicasfinest8 I joined a credit union few years back and it didn't work out so I am wondering is there a big difference between Credit Union and a Bank you have been with for 25 years..
Hi Linda the main difference is a credit unions have lower interest rates compared to commercial banks because they are not for profit organizations. Other than low loan interest rates (auto, personal, mortgages) a credit union operates pretty much like a commercial bank. Go to a credit union if you are looking for a loan but for your regular banking needs definitely go commercial because they are more customer service friendly.
I totally disagree with you on the dealer processing fee! I was buying a used F150 and the dealer wanted $200 "documentation fee" explaining that it paid for the girls in the office to process the paperwork. I asked how many cars per month this dealer typically sells and the reply was 200-225. I asked him who makes $45,000 a month in the back office? (225 x $200). I got it reduced, but they refused to eliminate it. I believe "dealer processing fees" or "doc fees" are a complete rip off!
They are a big rip-off. They will tell you the state mandates them. Yes, sales, tax, registration, and title fees are set by the state and are non-negotiable, but the processing of those things - submitting forms and such is negotiable. Why should a buyer pay fees for things that should be covered in a workers regular salary? No one pays a bricklayer a course-laying fee. it's his job to lay bricks. The cost of the car can also be reduced to eliminate the dealer processing fees.
VERY well done ! I say this with 40+ years in mortgage finance & banking working with credit bureaus. Different models and parameters are used by different industries but *850 FINANCIAL ASSESSMENT* info is pretty much universal. If you're trying to max your credit scores, there is a happy medium between too many credit cards and none. Too many cards with zero balnce may actually hurt you in some cases. Even if you do not use them, you have a potential. To always pay cash & still have cards doesn't help your scores as well
So this guy works there and is just trying to be the good guy and act like his stealership is different than the rest and you should buy from him if you can. He is just trying to advertise for them. That is all. Nothing more. Don't paint him as anything else than just one of the rest. I am sure they are just doing things like others just in a way that you do not know or realize. In the end their goal is the same. They are a 3rd party and only look out for themselves. That is why they are a Franchise and why the Franchise model should disappear and will be gm and others downfall in this new age. Out with the old and in with the new.
Well you might want to re think that thought, wait at least another year. GM is not only giving steep discounts and offers due to low sales from the covid19 which crippled most Brands equally but GM is really producing low quality vehicles these days like PONTIAC was doing right b4 the end of that business. Most parts are being produced in Mexico not only by cheaper labor but also by cheaper materials. You would think a smarter company would pass the savings on but GM is not. We all understand business is all about making money so on the labor savings that's business but on the cheaper materials that's just plain foolishness in my opinion. most people with any sense want quality merchandise and with the costs of new vehicles being what they are we should be getting quality. I personally have been a Chevy man my whole life but refuse to buy their new junk. The truck line is really experiencing a lot of mechanical issues and there is no reason for it other than corporate greed.I am not talking about a tire blow out either, I'm talking about motor and rear axle failures. Like I said wait at least another year and see what the engineers do or as much as I thought these words would never come from my mouth GO BUY A FORD!!
I'm a Chevy guy, and I can't afford to waste money on a new Camaro or truck. I've been hearing bad things about quality control on the vehicles built outside of the US, it's not looking good. If you pay 45 to 65 grand for a Chevy it needs to be a high quality product.
Calvin Evans well then what does it mean that I have a 2007 Tahoe with 230,000 miles and no problems whatsoever? I think people just talk to be talking.

I don’t care what fees they charge, I tell them what I’m willing to pay tax and tag included, and if they can’t meet i walk. I don’t care what they call the money I give them.
I should add, if they accept your offer right away you offered too much. It always takes at least 15 to 30 minutes of them telling me they can't do it and going back and forth and going out of the room etcetera. And usually takes me leaving the room or getting up out of the chair at least and starting to walk away. I am willing to walk away
secrets2youth that’s why you have to do your research before going into the dealership. It’s so easy now in the internet era. You’ll know exactly how much you should be paying, and that’s the number you stick to, probably go a couple grand lower just to give yourself some wiggle room ;)
Right, in all honesty this video just seems like appropriate and inappropriate language in fees, which just teaches the dealers what to call fees that can't be justifiably argued with..

@@davehill5806 Yes, we do actually. It goes into our front end gross, and we get a percentage of that. Typically 20% of the total front end gross. I'm a car salesman myself, and don't enjoy explaining fees to people, but sometimes thats how we eat. Getting paid on a flat (car with no gross) doesnt pay much and when you work solely on commission, it starts to hurt. Especially during the slow times of the year. Ive heard stories of back in the day before the advent of the internet of people making over 400k-500k a year selling cars, in the 80s! Now the typical salesman makes about 60k a year, and the bulk of that is during the summer. Maybe 100k+ if they are in a busy store and have lots of clientel. Thanks for your video! But, why go through all this ? I went out and test drove and researched and found what I wanted was a new Mazda. I then emailed 12 Mazda dealerships in a radius of 150 miles of Charlotte NC where I live and asked for a price from each one of them including fees and taxes for an “out the door” offering price. I gave them all the exact make and model same trim level, I wanted. After a few days I received all 12 quotes. I then sent the lowest quote to the other 11 dealers. They all responded back with lower quotes and I took that lowest quote and sent back out again to them. I went through this for about two weeks and at the end of that time there was only one dealership out of the 12 that was willing to go the lowest because the other 11 walked away from that price. This is how I know I have gotten as close to what they have paid for the vehicle as they’re willing to sell it for out of 12 dealers. It worked like a charm and I saved thousands. Best, Mark
It's exhausting but I love that we can text dealerships and have them compete with each other at the comfort of your home. I did that recently with five dealerships and dropped one immediately because one didn't even want to disclose asking price.
Well today I took your advice and I got a great deal. They took the $720. Fees off the asking price AND $1000. Because I knew the blue book value. Took a test drive and I knew it was a bad wheel cylinder , they replaced that. Thank You many times over.😘

There is wisdom in your comment. I bought a used Scion iM last month. I knew most of these and asked them to remove the Dealer prep fee ($400), destination charge ($850) and advertising fee ($250). The first dealership gave me some BS about it being against the law to remove them. I walked. (And reported this to the BBB) The second hemmed and hawed but removed them. (They also didn't have the advertising fee) Having a check from my bank for the full purchase price helped. Unless you live in the sticks, there are many, many dealerships that need your business.
They don't want to sell you a car, they want to sell you financing, extended warranties, and service plans, which of course this guy doesn't talk about. Notice how on that sales sheet he doesn't include the actual interest rate? Do whatever you can to get the original price of the car down first, and give up some interest and extend the term if you have too. That will also bring your taxes down. Then once the deal is done, go online and refinance the loan in the 2-3$ range if you have decent credit.
No joke. I told the dealer I recently used to not include ANY extra shit in the deal. They came back with the numbers and $4335 was added in shit. I walked, GM called me the next day, he had all the right answers and we bought a few days later.

Walked out of a local Toyota dealership two weeks ago with a 2014 Prius V. Only added fees I paid over the asking price were the sales tax, doc fee & registration fees... all mandated by South Carolina state law. Regarding the other 7k in add on's... I crossed them out, circled the asking price, and said... 'Cash or Check?' Sales manager... wasn't happy! Salesman however, asked if I'd ever considered selling Toyota's.
You've got to be willing to walk out the door, if the dealer knows that you have no other options, or they feel you are too emotionally committed to the car, they will take advantage of you for sure!
Just dealt with this at a dealer on a used vehicle. The salesman thought I was attached and they would not budge. I told him I needed to think about it. 3 days later he calls and says so where are we at? I told him I was looking at options. Salesman literally says "well it seems this is definantly the truck you want, I know you and your wife loved it". Jokes on him, after 4 days of them not budging on the price, I bought the same truck from another dealer for 3K less, with less miles.
Johnathan McNabb that’s hilarious!! I was at a dealer in the finance office buying a car that I didn’t really LOVE. I liked it, but it wasn’t the car I went in to get but since I was in the “buying mood” I was in the process of signing papers that I was about to settle on. Luckily, they offered me an extended warranty. Earlier in the evening, the salesman was touting this new “free lifetime warranty” that comes with every car. So.. with this “free” warranty, why would I need this extended warranty? I asked them to furnish the printed version of the included warranty several times and that never happened. I didn’t feel good about the deal, so we walked out. As far as they were concerned I would be back the next day to finalize the deal. Little did they know that the next day I’d be at another dealer, standing in front of a newer, lower mile better version of the car and for less money. All of this with an included prepaid extended warranty that was bought by the original owner and it was transferable. For me, being willing to walk away from a deal that wasn’t right bought me enough time to buy the right car.
@@RyanHenderMedia absolutely. Years ago I probably would have bought the more expensive one because "I had to have it". But walking away, and looking at other options saved me thousands. Dude.
Capitalism doesn't care about nothing but capitalizing
Notify the base or the command so that they can add that dealership to the "Off-limits" list where members of the US military will be prohibited from entering.
They do target young military members away from home. It’s very predatory. But like the comment above you can notify the base and they can issue an alert about the business or make it off limits.
Never buy a car within 20 miles of a military base and if you do and they pull that kind of stunt, you report them to the base and ask for them to be considered to the Off-Limits list.
Why not buy it from Car Gurus then?

I respectfully told them "I truly believe that should be included with the cost of the car, and therefore I won't be able to make a deal unless those fees are taken off."

Straight up I went to BMW to but my first car and they sent a super smoking sexy hot girl to take abuse me I already knew the game plan tho.....
You can do this, now that you know how to play the game!

The dealer is not in the business of doing cosmetic work. Your car is purchased and will be sold as is.

theres only ONE WAY to buy a car. Out the door price! You give them an out the door offer. They take it or you walk. They can put numbers on any line on paper and call them whatever they want! The time that you present your offer, beginning or end, means nothing! You are in control, not the dealer. If you arent, you lose, every time.

Thank you for your honesty- something rarely seen in a car dealership. People hate being deceived and that's exactly what most sales people do. All "fees" are dishonest fees. If people were honest it would be included in the price already. People would rather see the price be the real price and not a lie in order to deceive people out of more money. Thank you for this video! I’m a single female buying a new car and I know that most sales people would take advantage of that. I feel so prepared now!

Absolutely. They use different terms but it is just a rip off.
To always pay cash & still have cards doesn't help your scores as well
Two or three a good amount? Does having a debit card help your credit?

Well you might want to re think that thought, wait at least another year. GM is not only giving steep discounts and offers due to low sales from the covid19 which crippled most Brands equally but GM is really producing low quality vehicles these days like PONTIAC was doing right b4 the end of that business. @@lieslwise3294 absolutely! Aside from collectors, used cars don’t go up in value and they have gone through the roof in the last year. Vehicles will be fully stocked in 1 year which will push both new and used prices down considerably. Some people are paying 10-15k over msrp, all those dollars will be smoke 💨. You shouldn’t even consider buying in today’s market. More reason below
1. Stimulus checks are going towards cars, those will be gone in 6-12 months
2. Pent up travel demand will get back to normal, decreased need for new rides
3. Rental cars will be used regularly providing the used market with a good flow of rental cars

I admire the financial independence of people, But you can live better if you work a little more. After watching this I think there are people out there, on the extreme, who plan to die early just to be able to retire early. To each their own but to me, retirement isn't just about not having to work, it's about having the freedom to do whatever you might reasonably want, such as travel, buying things, enjoying life, etc. I don't think I could retire with less than $3m in income-generating investments, maybe $2m at the very minimum. Thank you so much. Just left dealership on Saturday pending a lease purchase. Your video is such a deal breaker when I go back. Again thank you. 😊
I purchased a new Acura MDX yesterday using many of your tips from your videos. I understood the process and what to really pay for and what to negotiate. I told my wife, as we sat down at the F&I guys desk, to watch for the 4 box trick and understand that I was not going to listen or watch it. Mine was a cash deal so when all of his tactics failed, he took out a piece of paper and drew the 4 boxes and began with his extended warranty hype. My wife looked at me and said "The Boxes" and we both laughed. I cut him short and our time in his office was less than 5 mins. By the way, I used your strategy on my trade in too. Cut the deal on the car then deal with the trade in. Thanks to you, I saved a ton of $$$.
Hope your car broke down immediately the 2nd day the warranty ends.

Best,
Mark
It's exhausting but I love that we can text dealerships and have them compete with each other at the comfort of your home. I did that recently with five dealerships and dropped one immediately because one didn't even want to disclose asking price.

You are sadly mistaken. Dealerships kick out roaches all day. If you cant afford it... walk your happy ads home..
Just the fact that this video exists is a bad sign. Dealerships are sketchy

At the end of the day, I walked away with what I felt was a great deal from a small local dealer, than what would have been a horrible deal from a dealership.
