Man my son has a kt196 go kart that’s been sitting a year. Couldn’t get it to crank for nothing and was about to sell it on fb marketplace until I came across this video. I did everything you said and it fired up on the first crank!! Your awesome man 🎉🎉
Thanks for the tip. I was too lazy to check the manual. For me i had to open the fuel line. That reminds me i should close it now. Thanks for the video!
I cleaned the carb and it still wasn’t starting then I cleaned the spark plug with carb cleaner fluid and it started after that. My spark plug was pretty much brand new but it was dirty and had a lot of carbon buildup
Not sure yet.... I checked mine and it looked pretty clean but I cleaned it up anyway... going to watch a couple more vids and see if there's anything else that might work... thanks!
Getting spark and fuel. It starts up on choke for one second then turns off . Then it won't start at all, then I leave it sitting for 10 minutes it will do the same thing. Start for only a second then die.
Hey Victor, I'm having the same problem. Has yours been sitting for some time? I'm researching about what I can do. I'll let you know if I find a solution
I have a ct100u that won’t start. I am getting spark, I cleaned the carb, I changed the oil, and I put fresh gas in. Any suggestions? (I checked the needle on the float and it is clean)
I have a 208cc Troy-bilt motor in my baja heat mini bike it has no compression and also backfires when I spray starting fluid in carb I checked float cleaned spark plug new gas new oil set the timing check the valves but nothing yet
Quick question so I replaced the carburetor on a Coleman minibike 200c & it runs fine but when I full throttle after a few mins it just turns off any ideas what I could do?
@@scott2hot I was wondering about that too there’s a paper gasket and a thicker green gasket and I’m not sure how both of them are supposed to line up together
Here’s another video that may help and also may eliminate the need to remove the fuel float. ua-cam.com/video/A-Urz7n874E/v-deo.htmlsi=hDVAgjMG5ThtJlJh
Mine starts but it’s really hard to start. Seems to be getting good spark. Tried putting starter fluid in the cylinder and it makes a pop but doesn’t start up. What do u recommend doing?
I know right. Mine was out for 7-8 months. Was pissed, cause it was a year old, and no videos found the problem. Figured if it helped 1 person. It was worth making.
curious ran out of gas while driving and put new gas finally today started up but ended up turned off on me I am curious do you think it’s because there’s air in the line? I am newer to mechanical work but I would love to fix my bike
what if it was stored for 1 year , with sta-bil , btw it's a 2 year old tilly 212r mk2 motor , fresh oil change after storage and brand new tilly carb ? Still wont turn over... what next ?
Has anyone done this and it still not start? My pin was pretty clean. I've cleaned out the carb and changed the plug. It kicks over but dies immediately
Swap out the entire carburetor with a Amazon one. Only like $30- $40 ). No more problems Also the gasket embetween the carburetor and housing could be barely of center
new spark plug using plug recommended in manual with gap verified (2 new tried actually just to be sure), new ignition coil, drained all and added fresh fuel 93, oil level good. Fuel comes out at bottom when screw is removed so flowing. All wiring and other components appear in great shape and connected. Carburetor is clean like new because this bike has not ran really since I got it for my son. Does starter fluid make a bug difference trying to start? I don't think there is anything else to troubleshoot.
@@scott2hot In my case it's not luck. I just go to extremes on certain maintenance items. I have two of these bikes. End of season is coming. They will sit for months with no fuel in them because I remove the carb bowl and gas tanks. Both are treated with oil which makes it impossible for rust/corrosion or any other fuel related problem. This year I started using non ethanol fuel. It's just better for all of my small engines. And it's higher octane is better for the higher than stock compression ratio 224 I'm running.
I’m really getting pissed off my ct200u predator 212 won’t start I installed a vm22 but when took it off cuz it wouldn’t work and everything is back to stock the way it should I replaced oil spark plug carb nothing will happen and it was just running great a few days ago
@@scott2hot ya I think so I’m not sure it just doesn’t make sense the bike is completely installed correctly I’ve checked everything and I can’t seem to see why it’s not starting
Mine rolled on its side recently and won't start again either. Think there's some chamber near spark plug flooded. Bout to drain everything at different angles. If I find a solution again. I'll let you know asap, bud.
@endofsearch hey mine is pretty much brand new been used once. i got it from a friend. it will start and run for a little then shut off. i checked the carb and it’s like spotless. the gas is clean. but it seems like the governor with engage the throttle body. it doesn’t move when i use the throttle on the handle. i’m new to bike and could use some ideas on what is the cause.
My man!!! Thanks so much, I went through it all just like you, never would’ve thought to check that pin! 😅😂
You're a lifesaver got my Coleman back up and running thanks to your video keep up the great work your newest subscriber 👍👍👍💯
Thank you for this technique it worked and saved the day. I'm now on my way to the holiday party. Now I don't need to see the mechanic no time soon.

Totally welcome. I had it happen multiple times. Best to buy better carburetor on Amazon for like $25

Appreciate it big dawg!! I was going to sell it but not anymore!! GREATLY APPRECIATE YOUR VIDEO.
EVERYTHINGS HE'S EXPLAINING IS 100% CORRECT.
Man, I was totally there too. Glad to help
I had mine sitting at the ranch for a year and and only used it 5 times this video helped alot
Thanks for the tip I just pulled my baby out of storage and cleaned the carburetor it started up one pull
so very glad to find this boy ill fix mine tomorrow
Golf tees work great as plugs for fuel or vacuum lines with a small clamp
Use rec fuel only and it is ethanol free and you won’t need to clean the carbs after it sits.
Thank you very much for this video very helpful I got my bike crank up thanks again
I cleaned the carb and it still wasn’t starting then I cleaned the spark plug with carb cleaner fluid and it started after that. My spark plug was pretty much brand new but it was dirty and had a lot of carbon buildup

Glad I could help. Drive on brotha
Worked right away, thanks!
Glad to help
Man I’m hoping this is the same issue I’m having, about to go do this.
Tried to pull the fuel line and it broke 😭 I’m livid
Twist it side to side with pliers first so it can unstick then pull out learn that the hard way😭😭😭
Thankyou so. Much
Great information, thanks!
Figured learn from my mistakes. Lol
I thought that I had this problem, but I just sprayed it with starter fluid and it starts up every time now

@ruoazquara6070 gasket probably little offset embetween carburetor and housing
i got a gk200 that i got started and ideling better after cleaning but when i give it throttle it wants to bog down. still a clogged jet somewhere?
Gasket not lined up good. Better carburetor on Amazon for like $30

Yes

Make sure you float isnt set to high or too low
i have a coleman ck100-s & after it starts it stalls , i need help !
I have the same bike and it some time starts but it turns off and the pull start recoil doesn’t pull
Honestly I dont know, but guessing the pull start rope is of track or pully for pull start rope is disconnected.
Does it work with the ct100u
Not exactly sure. But they're probably built the same
My mini bike I have been riding and then it shut off so I do not no what to do
Same

Yes, starter in air intake helps. You will have it sput for awhile after it runs
@@scott2hot Thank you!
Does this work on cc100x
I'm not sure, but should have some of the same working parts
Won't happen if you drain the bowl at the end of the season. I'm going on 6 years with my Colemans and never had this happen.
Your one of the lucky ones. Thousands of people have had this problem
