Wow, I'm absolutely amazed by the incredible work you're doing with visual effects on your channel! Your videos really look like they came straight out of a Hollywood film. The visual effects are incredibly realistic and fluid, and they add a fantastic dimension to each video. I'm also impressed by your talent for editing and storytelling. Your videos are always engaging and entertaining, and I can't wait to see what you'll produce next. Additionally, I want to point out how clear and understandable your tutorial explanations are. You're really great at conveying your VFX expertise to your audience. Thanks to you, I feel much more comfortable exploring VFX techniques in my own projects. Again, congratulations on your excellent work and keep inspiring us with your creativity!
I’ve been doing after effects for quite a while, so I know how to do most of this, but… Most after effects tutorials suck! Yours is a master class on how to give a tutorial. Close to perfection. You explain things simply, succinctly, no stupid rock music playing in the background… you can actually annunciate… and elements You even offer up many of the elements. You are a breath of fresh air.
yup and he doesn't skip any steps so even if im stuck i can comfortably seek back the play and find the part where i was stuck and learn from it. That's how a tutorial should be.
I am loving ur tutoria now bcos bfor d way ur other crew teach is too fast but now u teach us slowly so i realy enjoy dis, pls tell d other crew to follow ur teaching step, infact u re super in teaching unlike ur other people
@pixylstudios1084 were you able to follow along with the same base footage? I can't find where to download it even though he said everything was downloadable.
VFX producer here, I can guarantee you aren't getting anywhere near 95% by "winging" it. Saying you get to 95% by winging it is a massive insult to the thousands of VFX artists working 40+ hours a week
thank you for this tutorial i learned motion tracking importing assets and matching it with source footage thanks for the immense knowledge thank you gigachad
Hell of a job man. Absolutely amazing tutorial. Thank you for explaining everything in detail and making it make sense. Been trying to work on my compositing and making the cgi or 3D objects look natural has been my issue. Thank you again. Subscribed!!!
@@ProductionCrate Yes, we need some 3D tutorials for assets used in AE. Plenty already for Blender and Cinema 4D, but hardly any for AE. Keep up the great work, you guys make such user friendly tutorials.
Na frl tho👏🏽 Very good explanation with clear instructions. Even how face paced you explained this it was clear understandable to the point useful and all around great tutorial. Thank You for not wasting my time. 👍🏽
There are a lot of people out there that thinks after effects it's not good for compositing. But the truth is that this is not a software issue. It's about compositing skills. Compositing is not just a puzzle. Stuck in layers above another. It is a difficult job. There are so many mistakes in that tutorial. Your camera footage change in position and rotation but you tracked only position and in a tree far away when the robot is closer to us. So you have wrong Parallax. You are doing color correction with srgb values instead of linear color space and based on your eyes. There are tutorials out there on how to cc different footages. You thing that a good roto is obsolete and you use that silly rotobrush. There is a nuclear blast out there but the lights on your character dosent change at all. Layers with opacity less then 100%. There is not such a thing in the nature. There are also tutorials how to achieve that. And so on and so on. A nuke artist would work on that shot for at least 2 days and you have managed to completed in a half of an hour. You passed to people the meaning that compositing is an easy stuff. It is not!! Try to learn from professionals nuke artists some compositing skills and try to replicate them in after effects.
Can you paste a link to your composition in nuke that I assume you've done, and done better, if that's the case? Would be great to see a comparison from a pro such as yourself. 😃
Oh yes, this dude should upload a 48 hour tutorial on complete in depth nuke compositing ☠️, pretty sure this tut was more aimed towards beginners and to show off their assets
Hi! I really liked the video editing tutorial. Could you please share the link to the original video footage you used in this tutorial? I’d love to practice with the same clip. Thank you!
this is brilliant. Please can you make an animation tutorial of how you done the drone and mech as thats what really sells this :). Was it blender by any chance and imported with element 3d?
Curious, when you did the time remapping on the dirt layers, all of those remapped clips were slowed down, right? Instead, could you have just left the end keys in their place and extended the layers so they "hold" the last frame? That way they stay at their original speed. Or was the intention to also slow them down? Great tutorial, I hope this helps the majority of people who submit their work to your contests.
Very cool idea, but. What annoys me the most about the realism of the clip is the shockwave... shockwaves travel at the speed of sound and yet here the character has time to react, turn etc for the shockwave to travel barely 20 meters (btw, at this distance you wouldn't even see the shockwave, but oh well). Similarly, the initial part of the explosion should be much much faster (at least at the speed of sound too). My brain screams "fake", and these are details very easy to fix/get right.
only problem I have with this video is the fact that it's all self promotion, I'm happy with the video that I made but I had to spend money to make it and it does not look at good at this video, as there are specific assets you can't use with the basic plan for production crate. I know there are alternative websites out there and I'm going to look through them, but production crate was appealing with their visual quality. In short, cool outcome, don't like the money I put into it, nor the fact I need to put more to make it look "cool"
Forgot that the shock wave has stronger effect on character, his clothes, hair, and of course grass and trees, robot made of solids, should have debris.
Great video! I have a question for you to take this one step further. I notice you're downloading the explosion animation that someone else created. What if I wanted to make my own? I'm currently making my own film, and I'd like to have a smoke VFX. I want to film smoke over a black background, and then compose it over my actual film. Do you know of a way I can start learning how to do this? Keep in mind I have almost 0 experience with video editing software, so I'm not even sure where I should start my research
This is by far the best Ae compositing tutorial since VideoCopilot
The soothing voice, the teaching techniques, the stuff i learned, all are amazing!!
Ig this is one of the best tutorials for compositing explosions on youtube.
True
Honestly these VFX not only look but feel incredible, amazing work!
thank you so much this is all my work composing all the music and the video edit thanks again

The most easy to understand AE tutorials. Thank you.
Now THIS is how you do a tutorial. Easy to follow. Great explanations. Instant subscribe.
Sir Jacob Dalton - you are a Wizard.
Lendon!! Hope you’re doing well man❤
Jacob is one of the best VFX artists and teachers in the world
Fantastic tutorial! Your comprehensive guide to compositing in After Effects is incredibly informative and well-structured.
Curves is always the hero of any comp work!
This is probably the best introductory video to VFX. I loved it.
You must have been editing these most watched and interesting movies and series we normally watch. I like this😍😍
please link the main footage in the description so we can practice it by watching
this is the best tutorial i watched so far
That intro gave an Andrew Kramer vibe.. 😅❤❤❤❤❤ great tutorial, great work

Best VFX Channel and Teaching Quality
I'm an idiot for not subbing a very, very long time ago. Here now! Great stuff.
Amazing tutorial, clear and easy to follow. Thank you so much! Keep em coming!! 🤩
were you able to follow along with the same base footage? I can't seem to find it even though he said everything used is downloadable.
I cant find it either 😅😅@@musictopics7218

Amazing Tutorial And Looks Ultra Realastic🥰
Please bring back Saturday morning tutorials
Big fan of Jake tutorials 🔥 Thanks
I like the pace of your tutorial.
Brilliant tutorial. It looks like some film scene. Very natural and real. Keep it up. 🤩
A really good one but what could take it to the next lvl is some of that robot debris scattering in the sky and then falling down
Absolutely! That’s a cool idea
this is by far the best AE tutorial! so informative, easy to follow and practice. thank you!
Thank you so much for free stuff on production crate
always appreciate these videos of compositing
too much things that makes look cool but also cheap at the same time. but great job helped a lot your technic, thank you.
Oh great! This is what I need to create my next video! Thanks a lot!
Awesome tutorial. But rather than use the time remap have you ever thought of using the freeze last frame. It automatically extends the clips for you.
well so many layers of stuff, not for beginners but super usefull!
Tiktok creator here. I’ve been winging it and getting 95% without looking at tutorials. But the 5% extra that I picked up from here is golden.

Looks great! However, the tutorial page doesn't seem to have a link to the Explosion Tutorial Clip itself.
this was hell of a tutorial man

That was cool! Fancy giving us a tutorial on how to composite that drone? cause that looked awesome
Jake is planning a drone tutorial!

You're damn right 👍💯

I would like to know the PC specs needed for this kind of work? Looks incredible!
This was uploaded in May. Hopefully he will answer soon. I'd like to know this as well.
