I always enjoy MPC related items. Great presentation.
Thanks Steve!
Love the MPC era...and I wish I was just beginning my teen years back then. 😂
I’m in good company then.
I bought most of my Lionel stuff back in the MPC days. Still like it today. It reminds me of my younger years. Then I sold most of it to buy More S Scale which I love the most. As an adult I have bought back some MPC that I sold of and a little prewar things. So now my wife runs more 3 rail than me on her Halloween Village. My S Scale on a Christmas village layout.
I just heard you say something about the Disney MPC. I have the 50 year anniversary MPC set if you need pictures of the real thing. Glad to share it with you. Cbtrainnut, Chris
Thanks Chris. 😀
I have recently acquired a Southern Crescent set and Blue Comet set. I had a Santa Fe 8900fkr a while. They are all great. As my wife and I had children I picked up most of the Disney HiCube cars. All great pieces!
Sounds good
Thanks for posting this. Mpc is a great period. I have the Conrail rectifier and the lifesaver tank car from both lionel and the recent Menards one.
I think that there is a connection between Lionel and Menards. 🤔
@@bobsworkshop5181 menards just announced a Pennsy engine and line today
The Milwaukee RR SD-20 is cool. I have one in CSX paint and is pretty much scale. Thanks
That’s a nice unit! (That’s what she said).
An interesting look back Bob!
Certainly there's a lot of Lionel snobs (for lack of a better term) who look down on the MPC era but in my opinion if General Mills hadn't seen value in the Lionel name and bought the company (which became GM/MPC/Lionel) the Lionel brand would have been dead. And we can imagine what the O Gauge world would have become without it.
At any rate there's plenty of MPC out there, and the prices are pretty good too. MPC's still a great entry point for the hobby!
Thanks for posting!
I agree with all of that!
I got that catalog Bob. I also have the UP stock car which you can see in some of my videos.
I know we are both fans of Lionel’s MPC era. 👍🏻
