Wow, how'd I miss this one the past two days? No matter, it found ME, and that's a good thing! Lovely set Bob! Just as good as the day it was made almost 50 years ago, and isn't it fun when you find something you'd forgotten you had, it's just like a mini-Christmas! Now, on to the Hudson lamp video! Thanks for posting!
When I was partner in a hobby shop we had the opportunity to buy, st s huge discount, a Lionel Service Center CSX Freight set. It was a figure 8 up and over set with a CSX SD-20 loco. I ordered one for myself for under the xmas tree. It is one of the reasons I switched from HO to O3r. Nice Amtrak set!!! Thx
@@bobsworkshop5181 Yep....ran a number of years under the tree....then packed away in all the original packaging. Back in the day Service Station sets were valuable but now just trains! thx
I got that set for my son when he was anout two. I showed him how to operate it. He was very careful with it and we often played with it. He is now 40. I still have it and its not. Iver the years Lionel added a combo, baggage, diner, dummy A and dummy B and I have them. He and his wife are still in the sciences and PhD's. One of these days I.hope to give it back to him!
That is really nice. I believe that i also have all the pieces from that set, along with a B unit, baggage, and diner. I still want a dummy A unit. Thanks for sharing!
Fantastic Bob.! I agree wit you about the front of the Locomotive. I often look at my 2003 F3 and wish it was more realistic looking solid like the real thing. Beautiful Set and thanks for sharing.!
Thanks Frank. I’ll check it out. I was mainly just curious about using the car carrying train for 1/43 scale cars I already own. I hope you have a great week! Bob
What a great set to find again in your own home! I haven’t ever done that with a boxed set, but, I have found single cars and an engine I forgot. Seems at 67 I keep finding more and more forgotten trains lol! Have a great week ahead! Enjoyed the video as always! Thanks, Chris. Cbtrainnut
That is a nice, little set. Clean and the cars look excellent. I wonder when, or even why, they removed those threaded bolts, disguised as air vents, from the top of the 2400 series car? They made it so easy to replace the bulbs and straighten the window inserts, if they got out of place. Cost cutting, maybe? Either way, that is a very good set. A fine video, as always.
Sharp looking Amtrak set. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Very nice. I have that same set without the box. Glad you found it.
Thanks Paul!😀

That sounds like a cool set Dave. Do you still have it?

That’s a great looking set! The original Amtrak paint scheme is classic! Great video!
Thanks so much! I think you’re one of my earliest subscribers and I really appreciate it!
Great set Bob. Neat unboxing.
Thanks Hunter!

Nice set. I have the same set with everything but the track. I believe there was an add on car for this set.
There’s a dummy B unit too. 👍🏻😀
@@bobsworkshop5181 Might need to start looking for one, Thanks Bob.

Thanks for watching Mark!
What a beautiful MPC Amtrak set Bob! I really like it and I will keep an eye out for one. 👍
By the way I’ve upload that information for you. 😊

That’s the exact size Bob. I went online and purchased 12 cars after finding this information for you.😆 👍

@@Cbtrainnut thanks!
AWESOME, a blast from the past🔥🔥🔥👍👍💪🙏❤️
Thanks!
A very clean, nice train set Bob! A B unit would look great behind the A. Hmmm, I bet you’re looking for one to repaint.
I usually leave the Amtrak Alcos alone because they are some of my favorite paint schemes. I might repaint an old UP Alco this summer. 👍🏻😀
Nice and nostalgic...👍
Thanks Jim. I pretty much live in the past. The here and now is good too but I tend to get pretty nostalgic. I hope you’re doing well!
@@bobsworkshop5181 Doing well....

Agreed, that is one thing I really like about the PW Pullmans.
Thanks John. I remember those little fasteners on the roof. But I never had any passenger cars that old. Thanks for watching. 👍🏻😀🇺🇸
This is a truly beautiful set. Does it have an E-unit or a forward and reverse switch?
I believe the switch sticks through the roof. 👍🏻
Nice!
Thanks Carl. 😀
Everything on Ebay is overpriced, especially trains
