Very cool been enjoying my 0-coast as first step into west coast type modular. Now looking to see that and get a full Make Noise Black and Gold system!
Probably my next buy... Does this sequencer also react on keyboard note change? I mean...does the whole sequence shift with a key which I press on a keyboard...not sure how to ask my question :D
For more info about René, see this video playlist: ua-cam.com/play/PL980BA0B8E062C7E0.html The short answer is René's sequence changes location when it receives a clock pulse in one of its inputs.
guys I've been a lover to the arp 2600 from arturia for 2 yrs...after that loved moog...still do...but I LOVE more and more Make Noise as do the mentioned above...your stuff looks sexy as well ;) Thx for the link!
Probably the Cartesian as it has most of the classic modular synthesis functional blocks. You could add the echo, reverb and etc... to build it out later.
*this is to much expensive for the thing itself...2.600€!!!???if its 1.600€, not bad, cuz this synth is very good, but with 2.600€ i can make a very good modular rack, with much more things, and with quality too! i bet if makenoise drops the price of this modular in 1000€, sales increase at least 60%, dont you think?*
Hello, sorry to confuse. Unfortunately we do not have any control over exchange rates. Make sure you check our dealers page makenoisemusic.com/dealers for the dealer closest to you. We also sell direct.
MAKEN0ISE yes, i saw that in your site its only 2100$, for this price i can buy it, but if i order, if the item go to customs i have to pay a percentage over the price, on 2000$ i think i have to pay 30%...unless if dont came with the shopping paper on the packaging, (if i bought, you can send that paper straight to my house)i said its a gift from a friend, it happens with a friend of mine, he tells its a gift, over a dr dre beats, and he tells on customs its a gift from his girlfriend, and maybe the item costs 60€ to her, and they ask him only 15€...or if the packaging go straight to my house, better, but i think thats not possible, i have to pick up on customs (i think).to be honest, i have a big desire to buy the Black & Gold Shared System, cud you tell me how many voices this modular have?in your site costs 4.495$ (4.030€!!!!!), but in europe costs 5.600€, its less 1.500€!!!!!!for sure i buy it! well, if you knows a better way to make this purchase, tell me please, thanks!
Hello, again I apologize, but we do not have any way to control customs costs or exchange rates. We try to bring our products to market at the fairest price we can. The Black and Gold Shared System has two dedicated VCOs and also recording/playback using the Phonogene. There are other ways to make sound with it too, for example the Erbe-Verb can be set into self-oscillation. I'd suggest watching the intro video on the Black and Gold Shared System for a quick demo of every module it contains. Thanks!
I may be wrong, but I feel like that's sort of the point and philosophy when it comes to Make Noise and their modules... Theyre not exactly designed to be the most musical; they aim to spark an interest in experimenting with very unconventional sounds. Personally, that's why I love them: it's so easy (but still fun) to patch with conventional modules, but with Make Noise's modules you're lost all over again with a whole new set of options and parameters you aren't familiar with (at first). To me, that's one of the elements that makes modular synthesis so stimulating. I ended up filling a 104hp with solely Make Noise modules, and I never at any point had an expectation to make anything musical with it.
LOVE your approach to demo videos. Seems simple, but explanations accompanied by associated sound output is critical. Not many do this. THANKS.
Thanks for the feedback!

Ok, I think I'm in. Will probably be calling you guys either Monday or Tuesday.
useful patch! always learning a lot from your videos!
Please, please, please, more System Cartesian videos! :)
perfect example of why modular is amazing..
Glad you enjoyed!
Wow - what fabulous sounds - thank you :-)
Thank you for the video. I'm inspired.
+ghettowinnebago that's what we aim for!
Probably my next buy...

serious awesomeness!
Wild. Thank u
Does any of the modules have adjustable clock, as in settable by integer bpm, or only by tapping like in 0-coast?
The TEMPI is tap tempo or clocked externally; MATHS and Wogglebug are set by knob and/or voltage control, or can be clocked externally.
good stuff man :)
so transformers sounds are all different variations of ring mod?
+Nicodemo Lalli not always. People have used Karplus Strong, Granular and other forms of synthesis to do those classic sound effects.
+MAKEN0ISE
A lot of that stuff sounds like a blend of all these styles layered and mixed in various ways. At least that's how I do:)
As a starter for Cartesian or Concrete?
Cartesian for generating electronic sounds from scratch, and the Concrete for manipulating external sounds into new ones.
+MAKEN0ISE I wondered which you recommend as a starter as a basis for building a bigger system eventually.
Probably the Cartesian as it has most of the classic modular synthesis functional blocks. You could add the echo, reverb and etc... to build it out later.
Ur components makes nice sounds... but its not cheep ....

As ever: brilliant modules. But ever again an insanly unmusical demonstration. Wake up, this is like a booth presentation.
That's what I think about every time I watch a new module video. Play some damn music, a bass riff we all know...
I don't know what you were listening to, but I was headbanging at 3:17.
