I just bought the 0-coast mainly because of your walkthrough and now im pretty sure I need this in my life because of your video. Your videos are really superbly done sir.
This video convinced me to get a Morphagene, and it added a whole new dimension to my setup. But more importantly, this is a video that I can just watch for fun or in the background, because it's well-made and informative, and the sounds and examples are just plain nice. Well done, Mylar. :)
it's just incredible. I am still in the planning stages of my eventual eurorack, this was the first I added. Really beautiful module. thanks for the video
I watched this video like 20 times when I first got a morphagene 5 years ago. Sold it a couple of years ago but got another one on the way again, time to watch this 20 more times :)
The Morphagene is just too cool. Thanks for such an entertaining overview of another amazing module from Make Noise. Pure modular fun. The efforts from the marriage of Erbe and that very clever gang in Asheville are simply incredible aren't they?
Just got a chance to watch through. Great job explaining what this thing is about. U just got me thinking of a skiff based solely around my Rhodes. Also. I thought the has a great charm to it... beautifully done.
Best and most-tape-music-ish demo I've seen of this yet. Even better than over on the Make Noise channel, and they do pretty consistently good demos! That piano is fabulous. Have you heard Julianna Barwick, or better yet, been to one of her hypnotic gigs? This seems like her kind of vibe too
Hello thank u for your video!!! Enjoyed a lot! I have a question, I can’t see the signal output blinking, don’t know why and couldn’t figure out whether The problem is input or output. I connect my interface with mic and the input on morphagage, output to make noise Rosie mixer module and then headphones out. Do you know what’s the issue here~? Looking forward to your reply!
From being a module that I’d quite like one day, this has become a must-have piece of kit. I’m already imagining how it would be controlled by Pamela’s New Workout- interestingly is my guess…
I've been looking longingly at this thing forever. I keep thinking, "yeah but at that cost, I could almost get an MPC one or some full sampler workstation" At 8:13 though, okay you win morphagene!😄
NIce chords and piano sounds i just wish it cost £250 then i would really consider buying one but it is high quality for sure 32 bit wow! I have experimented with my Edirol r-09HR 96k 24bit recordings and speeding them or slowing them down, its great fun for finding weird sounds like slowing birdsong down for example, they sound like dinosaurs lol, having all this functionality plus cv and more in one box is amazing, Cheers
I would love to have a Morphogenetic, seems to be just the thing for the way I want to work with sound. There’s no way I can afford one however, so, I plan to adopt the approach you mentioned in a more recent video. I have a modular, I have modules, in particular Disting Mk 4 for delays, clockable etc, and Clouds. I can use this video as an inspiration for ways to use modules I already own. Thanks for the guidance and inspirational videos Alex, keep up the excellent work! 😎
Great demo. Now then, I have the Strega, the 0 ctrl and plan to get the 0 Coast ( when available) but no Eurorack set up at all. I really want this type sampler but I see they don’t make a stand alone unit. Can you advise on a basic Eurorack set up to at least get me started with this sampler as I am new to modular ? If not, perhaps the Black Box 1010 ? cheers.
the best demo on morphagene ever, im a newbe, morphagene arrived today, batumi and clouds on the way, ripples and uscale later, just love musique concrete and ambient drones,
@@aeropilot4419 thanks, but i changed my mind and got wogglebug and function instead of uscale, have,nt got a clue whats going on but i,ve had some amazing sounds coming through.
What a beautiful musical demo! I also have an old upright piano and was thinking about how to mount a modular case to it. Would you mind to share how you did it? Looks like a metal frame - custom-made?
This is incredible and again the obsession kicks in..but I own a Kaoss pad 3 sampler with granular sampling and a Mutable clouds..Im sure If I combine the two with some modulation, can get something similar...gives me some time to save for it :)
i am a modular junkie just because of this thing. i said no to modular for years and after i played this lil fucking thing for 30 minutes , my whole fucking life became fucking modular....literaly!!!
Actually, the granular feature isn't really necessarily a nod to modern sampling. It was first implemented in the tape medium, albeit as a very painstaking and slow process.
Can you imagine, going to a room with an array of speakers, and hearing little tiny snips of Xenakis music all around... in 1960?! Crazy. I’m sure most people weren’t even able to parse what it was.
I know it’s a fairly old video. But i recently got the MG, and I’m getting a lot of white noise or like straw sucking sound from the input. Ive got the latest firmware and I’ve tried multiple gain stages. Even with nothing plugged in I still get the noise. Have you ever ran into a really high noise floor on your Morphagene?
One of the best Eurorack channels on UA-cam
THE best
+1
without a doubt
“One of ...” don’t insult the man !
At 13:30 the song sampled is "Jaat Kahan Ho" by Surshri Kesar Bai Kerkar, an indian raga song. Very cool transformation!
I friggin' love the combination of the gorgeous old piano and the modular tech. It's a match made in heaven. I needs me a Morphagene.
I just bought the 0-coast mainly because of your walkthrough and now im pretty sure I need this in my life because of your video. Your videos are really superbly done sir.
Seriously, every single module that you review turns into a module that i want to get.
It's because skills.
Soooo tru 🙂✨
That's never good in modular. It's an easy way to lose your bank account.
@@reedtrygd4277 it's how you invest in future fun jam you
I thought that by having Clouds, I didn't really need Morphagene. You really changed my mind sir...
I think the low mic quality when you were making the piano samples only added a dreamy effect to it instead of making it sound like crap.
I agree
William S Burroughs would love this thing

Love my Morphagene.
YOU NEED TO MAKE A MODULAR YOU WOULD HAVE SO MUCH FUN
you have the money to afford a virus indigo and a op-1 so you should be able to make a modular

ah shit you beat me to it lol
That business in the 16:00 range was double-plus ace!! Thanks for your take - always of interest.
I'm a returning viewer coming back for an innumerable time because this is quite simply the greatest demo video of anything ever made
Ooookay.
I experienced this unit in person at the MakeNoise HQ today, mind blown. Great folks in there, too, an overall wonderful experience.
Reminded me of Steve Reich too - the violin piece has parallels to Different Trains. Nice.
It's also used in Carl Sagan's Cosmos. It's probably famous but I am too thick and uncultured to know it.
Still one of my favorite module demos of all time!
🙌😘
one of the only people on UA-cam that understand the purpose of the Morphagene.
It really has been a life changing module. And I love your video. Ace.
Fabulous video. You do such an amazing job of breaking these modules down. That piano sounds wonderful.
it's just incredible. I am still in the planning stages of my eventual eurorack, this was the first I added. Really beautiful module. thanks for the video
I love the combo of really old and really new. And that piano sounds fantastich.
I gave it a thumbs up before I've watched it. A review A LOT of people have been waiting for. Thanks in advance!
Excellent vid! Can't go wrong with the pentatonic scale on a piano.
SD card ships with NOTHING on it - now I defintiely want one :)
dude i cant tell you how much i love your module demos! you sold me when you started playing the piano
it's just so magical. especially the piano reel. reminds me of some old fourtet tunes
Wow this piano sampling. Never actually thought I needed to build a eurorak set up, but now I may need to build one just for this.
The stuff you did with the piano gives me extreme tim hecker vibes
15:45 Woah, straight fire.
Incredible channel, I think this will be my next module purchase.
loved the bit with the piano. can't wait to get my hands on the morphagene
Lovely! When you were sat at the piano, I could tell you were back up here in Yorkshire coz you sounded like you had a cold!
I watched this video like 20 times when I first got a morphagene 5 years ago. Sold it a couple of years ago but got another one on the way again, time to watch this 20 more times :)
🙌🙌👍 thanks m8
The Rode NT-3 mic works nice with the Morphagene (because it can be battery powered).
Great tip on the shift button/cv I was trying to use the organise cv to do what you are doing there with the shift.
The Morphagene is just too cool. Thanks for such an entertaining overview of another amazing module from Make Noise. Pure modular fun. The efforts from the marriage of Erbe and that very clever gang in Asheville are simply incredible aren't they?
Really wonderful demonstration. You nailed the soul of this machine.
Like your Metropolis review, this one is fantastic.
Tomorrow never knows and it’s here! Great demo and otherworldly soundscapes

15:44 .. even too dark for the most underground bunker party ..omg that's just sick! Should have been put on a record my friend :D
This is the sort of demo I love seeing. I cant wait to buy one of these
Great demo! So looking forward to exploring this module once it arrives. Will be great for adding manipulated organic elements.
Great demo, Thanks! Cleared up a few mysteries in my head!
Man, what an amazing module .. can't say other than ACE!
Just bought one based on the piano section of this video! Stoked for it to arrive!
Around 14:30 you had that thing making some of the funniest sounds I've ever heard come out of a synthesizer.
Brilliant! Love you videos. Just sat down to build some modules, timing couldnt have been better.
It's good to have a new review from you! Beautiful!
Very good indeed Sir. I'm part way through a project where the piano is feeding the modular. Key module for the job!
As soon as you clocked it with Pams, it came to life....Might end up with a Morphagene soon.
What a journey! Thank you, my friend.
The SOS with the piano is wicked, nice work!
"So how does it work, mate?!" That needs to be in the next mylarisms pack!!
Loved it, especially the piano part. Thanks for the great demo! Now I know why I see this popping up everywhere. :)

Have you heard Julianna Barwick, or better yet, been to one of her hypnotic gigs? This seems like her kind of vibe too
John Slee Thanks John, heard of Julianna but not heard her tunes, will check her out!!
Start with "Nebula". Crank it up!
That’s the best module vid I’ve seen for a long time.
Well this demo is just awesome.

And there was me researching a Make O Noise and this pops up, Thats 2 things ill have to buy now lol
Timmy Mallet just emailed, he wants his watch back. thanks for another awsome vid...
Black keys are the best keys! Also those candle holders make excellent cord rests :)
edit: 23:27 those candle-holders apparently also sound great!
Robert Syrett The catch which holds the sheet music holder on this makes one of the best sounds ever when you flick it - BEOWWWP

Great channel! The 0-coast demo is ace as well
Its gonna take me awhile to buy all this stuff... Oh boy, I need a raise...
Been looking into this. You've convinced me. Thanks for the demo.
Amen break into it please :)
I am totally sold: I need an old piano!
The opening chords at your folks reminded me of Isi off Neu 75. Great review as ever, thanks. Take it easy.

Another awesome video, thanks, mylarmelodies! Could you please make a video on the PEG? :D
can you release the track that starts around 14 mins?
What a beautiful musical demo! I also have an old upright piano and was thinking about how to mount a modular case to it. Would you mind to share how you did it? Looks like a metal frame - custom-made?
What....a......demo. Pffff, that might be my favourite module to date.
fucking bonkers- i think i could get lost playing with this one

F\ing madness!!! love this thing, and this is great demo...
Ur the man bro thanks for this
"My head feels like a frisbee"
And here I was thinking I wasn't going to buy one. 16:30 sold me.
This is F gorgeous. Thanks man.
i am a modular junkie just because of this thing. i said no to modular for years and after i played this lil fucking thing for 30 minutes , my whole fucking life became fucking modular....literaly!!!
Such a good demo! Bravo
I think a better microphone would have detracted from the vibe of the piano stuff. "Better" isn't always better.
I audibly exhaled when I saw the video title
Those piano sounds reminds me of aphex twin
I wonder how the Morphagene compares to the 856 for ZELLERSASN from Montreal Assembly
would this like a mutable instruments clouds ? witch would you think is better to a granular / texture synth ?

Probably tip top drums. He's got a slew of them featured in other vidzzzz
joel waters See other comment but Hexinverter BD9, Tiptop SD808, ticking hat sound made via FMing oscillators
mylarmelodies word em up!
