"Finally, we have the RxMx, which is basically 50 vactrols put into a plastic bag and duct-taped to a PCB" got the loudest involuntary snort of any line I've heard in a Eurorack demo video. Well done.
As someone who loves Eurorack but also really enjoys cooking, your ranking was right up my alley and I understood it perfectly as it's the kind of comparisons I draw in my daily life. Nicely done 🤣
I think I've come back to this video a few times since I got sucked into the wormhole of modular in early pre-covid 2020.... that said, I'm now revisiting this having scored an lxd after a few years wait from the most recent subtle roll out which I hope opens a wider dispersal as I think this is an incredible wet yer feet yet highly versatile module. the ranking at the end is !!!!!! spot on!
hey thank you! i didn't necessarily realize that this is what i was looking for, but it turns out that this presentation was exactly what i was looking for. ive been struggling a little bit with the low pass gate thing. Hearing these modules back to back and your explanations and conclusions, cleared up a good amount for me. so thank you for making me realize that this is exactly what i needed to be cleared up. best wishes.
I have all but the Dynamix and I agree with everything you said here. I'd probably put the RxMx ahead of the LxD when FxDf is added. Regardless, Optomix is my favorite LPG for sure.. its highly underrated imo
The final conclusion is so coool. Im from Galiza, Northern Iberia (ES-POR), so I always have olive oil at my place. Hoping to get an optomix ASAP, so ;)
Video was great but was a bit disapointing that you say that LxD (bottom) sounds equally to Optomix but don´t publish those results... I trust your word but let me judge by myself as well
thanks a ton for this video (appreciated the one-liners, too); the condiment breakdown was perfect, i saw a thread on mw wherein you expressed curiosity about the pittsburgh dynamic impulse. did you end up experimenting with one? what were your thoughts?
Great video! I’ve been wanting an optomix for a while and have been on the fence only because I have a LxD. Do you feel they have different enough character to have both? I’m just trying to keep from duplicating what I have. Thanks!
The QPAS is a filter which provides some of the effect of a low pass gate. On the scientific scale from the video it would be all the way to the right, past the MMG. With some snappy envelopes using an exponential decay, it will sound pretty darn close.
awesome! Thanks for this great, clear and well presented information!
seriously--what a great video!

un poco picante
Thanks for making me feel like a genius for buying that Optomix.
"Eurorack modules are food " Right !
Great comparison, and dressing comparison as well :)) so finally, i can get my self an optomix...tnx

This may have convinced me to keep my Optomix. Certainly worth a sub!
Came for LPGs, subbed for the ending. Bravo
Thank you for this! RxMx user here and it really helps to hear the examples!

Blue cheese is awesome. Ranch is pretty good.
This video is a blue cheese presentation!
This was a great video. I laughed during the whole roundup at the end. "In conclusion, Eurorack modules are food. Good day." LOL

Great analysis. The food comparison was actually really helpful.
Maybe time for an update with the new Make noise stereo LPG-Emulation and the TiptopBuchla 292?
Great vid, I've been leaning towards the optomix.

Now I need to know which LPG is blue cheese!
Super interested in this!!! Great video idea 😄👍
What a great and useful comparison!
wonderful video and explanation. great job and the style is fun :) thanks for making such a good resource!
edit: i’m your 666th sub let’s goooooooo
Great review! Very helpful!
Great video man. Thank you!
Best presentation
Excellent.
hmm interesting. Can see why Optomix is most popular but actually MMG comes across well here but suppose a lot of that is the filtering.
yeah i thought it sounded the best ... now i want a QMMG

If you have an LxD then you already have the flavor of the Optomix in the bottom channel, so unless you just want more of that, you're covered.
is it also possible to make a low pass gate with QPAS & MATHS together?

v useful review.
richest kings in Europe! jajajja
What about Moddemix?
It’s not an lpg. It’s a ring modulator and vca
