I liked Jaheira enough in BG2 ...but this really made me love her. She's actually pretty hilarious and her kids just are the best.
I’m not sure why but the mental image of Jaheira shouting at a tree stump has me 😂😂
I love Jord, he’s genuinely one of my favorite small characters in the whole game, I desperately need more Jord content
The writers on this game, man... :'D
I love that Jaheira is a mildly bad parent in ways. Like, Rion is 100% correct in tearing Jaheira a new one for only casting one Sending spell during her absence, and even that one didn't even use the full 25 word message. Like, Jaheira, I love you, but call home once a week when you're out trying to save the world, damn it!
But she's only *mildly* bad. There's still a ton of love in that house, the kids are safe and provided for, and the ones old enough to understand that she's not gone for no reason. It adds depth to Jaheira's character, that she hasn't handled being a den mother as well as she might like, she's still awkward at it, but she's trying hard, and on the whole she's doing a good job.
This is why I love BG3. The dev put so much effort in the dialogue writing. Like, there's going to be only a few people who will try to come to Jaheira's house with Minsc alone. But they create this interaction anyway. Show us how much the dev love and care the game.
this part brings tears to my eyes. its so warm and happy this house! their interactions with Jaheira is amazing!!!!!
Holup....how does Minsc know Jaheira's young children?? wasn't he petrified for a century ?
The dialogue implies that Minsc has been like a weird uncle figure (I even recall a line about him giving Fig a handaxe in the past which caused an uproar)
I assume the story was written differently at some point and now there's leftover dialogue alluding to it ?
It's not like he was un petrified and then immediately captured by the Absolute though. I think there are a few years between, like 5 to 10 from the sound of it.
So my headcanon timline is: He gets unpetrified, starts working with Jaheira and being the weird uncle for a few years, he gets captured and tadpoled while Jeheira leaves towards moonrise, and then game starts 1 or 2 years later.
@@Knuspabrot Canonically speaking, Minsc was un-petrified in ~1485 DR by the wild mage Delina, and the game takes place in the summer of 1492 DR. That would give plenty of time for uncle Minsc to come visiting Jaheira's family between adventures. Minsc would have been taken by the cult after returning to Baldur's Gate from Elturel after participating in the descent into Avernus.
@@therat1117 I absolutely love it when someone uses actual canon to prove how wrong someone is, and at the same time showing how well Larian stuck to the timeline. Very well done!
I love Jaheira’s family. Rion would have been a great companion.
all of them would be! the writers and actors were amazing!
Into the "lions den" 😇
Jaheira was quite the 304!
Baldur's Gate 3 is my first game and when I randomly came there with Jaheira I was surprised and liked her even more. Hehe.
I completely missed these interactions, so the first time Jaheira mentioned kids to me was in the epilogue. My drow was... quite confused to say the least xD
So oooold
I'm really concerned about minthara having 88hp being a level 12 paladin...
