man, its almost like the players can chose to play as any gender, and romance any companion regardless.... and the dialogues from the companion being the same no matter what gender u are playing as

I just don't like that every character is player-character-sexual. No matter what race. No matter what Sex. No matter what age you choose your character to be (maturity is a cosmetic slider, but it exists). If they like you, they WILL want to fuck you. And only YOU. They never hook up with each other, except for some implied one night stands, but even then I think that's just Laezel and Shadowheart. If you don't romance anyone they will ALL come onto you MULTIPLE times and it just reeks of neckbeard fantasy. I get making the romances accessible for anyone who wants it, but even just adding a sexuality option so only my preferred gender even tries would improve things. Didn't romance anyone my first playthrough because I didn't like any character that way and it creeped me the hell out. Like if all of my IRL friends or work mates suddenly wanted to get into my pants

When you find out the truth early Act 3, the narration goes something along the lines of “It is as you feared, a Bhaalspawn” which suggests Durge suspected and this was just the final confirmation. Also the Bhaalspawn MC from BG1/BG2 are quite famous and Jaheira is famous for travelling with them - so it’s pretty easy to infer what she means by that line too.

@@waimarieheap5608 You're right, I forgot about that Narrator line. And I haven't played BG1 and BG2 so I didn't know the story of those games. Still, I thought that was a pretty neat foreshadowing.

Honestly, I don't think the foreshadowing really works here. Anyone that's going to cotton onto that clue was probably already going "oh, so I'm a Bhaalspawn" ever since you spontaneously murder someone in your camp in Act 1. It's Baldur's Gate 3, you do a murder not of your accord but because you're driven to it, its not exactly a great secret. It's a disappointing part of playing as Durge, the game isn't built around the MC being a Bhaalspawn anymore than it is built around the player being Some Dude or Astarion, so they don't really have the ability to fully support it like BG1 and 2 could. It's not terrible, but it just felt kinda tacked on all-told.

@@Wraithfighter Durge is kind of dazed and confused and doesn’t remember anything from before waking up on the Nautiloid. A chunk of their brain is damaged thanks to Orins dagger piercing it + maybe the tadpole actually does eat brain. Plus Bhaalspawn are supposed to be extinct. So it’s understandable that it wouldn’t be the first conclusion jumped to. Also, I thought Durge was supposed to be the main character and then they added Tav at a latter point so that people could role play their own backstories instead of being assigned one? So the original story was based around Durge as the MC. Also I agree in the sense that having a Bhaalspawn MC kinda reiterates BG1/2 all over again but at the same time like the original commenter here said - a lot of people haven’t played those games so this lore and story is all new and fresh. I mean I’ve been a BioWare fan for a long time and played games as old as Knights of the Old Republic from them, but I actually had never even heard of Baldur’s Gate until 3 came out. And I only looked into the lore of the first 2 because I was interested in Jaheira and Minsc’s significance.

You get that title from act 1's druid questline, exposing Kagha's reason to do the rite of thorns and then stop the goblins, protecting the druids faith. I think it only comes up in this dialogue, idk if anywhere else.

you can only get this scenario when you slaughter all the tieflings in the grove including mol the girl.

​​@@whatever-dq3dwI mean ... he literally told you why it doesn't have any impact: the only way to trigger this fight in that way without the ghoul is to have slaughtered the grove including mol in act 1 so she isn't there anymore to be kidnapped in the first place.

This is why this game is awesome, when the developers think of stuff like that and then you go huh i wonder if i did this before this… hmmm

Most of my playthroughs consist of exploring hidden interactions or interesting interactions (because I send cinematic bug reports to the devs, and fortunately they responded to me thrice! out of the three detailed bug reports I've sent so far! 😭✨). I've explored unique githyanki dialogues with Astarion up to showcasing the more hidden interactions in Last Light Inn, which I think are pretty cool that the devs even thought about these small details. The small party I left behind due to my "evil playthrough" paved way for me to finally get the chance on romancing Bae'zel. 🥹

@@pikajulie_art that makes a lot of sense! Good to have someone going through these to do that lol, and it’s super cool to see some of the edge case scenarios that a lot of people miss. So much special dialogue that hardly anyone has even seen… wow If you haven’t seen her act 3 romance scene before you’re in for a treat <3

If you choose to raid the grove I think she stays with you for a short time and one of their notes did say they entered moonrise before coming to the inn so i imagine they remet her when ketheric interrogates her then you can save her when she gets put in the prison.

you can straight up go to moonrise at the begin of act 2 and get minthara with completely ignoring last light inn. Will be a bit hard tho without a moon lantern

Not if you (a) take the drider escort, or (b) kill the drider and take his lantern and either use it to get to the towers, or free the sprite and get its protection magic.

​@@Eliezar18 you dont even need a lantern to get to the tower, just use astarion rogue thief and dash 3 times through, youll get damage but it wont kill you. Then you unlock the portal and can port everyone there. In moonrise you can get a lantern without ever meeting the harpers or the drider

You can go the Mountain Pass route to enter the Shadow-cursed lands. Meet the Drider, then immediately kill him and steal the lantern. Then go get Minthara from prison. After that, you can walk into Last Light Inn. Minthara actually gives approval if you don't drink the wine Jaheira gives you, so it's worth it if you want to romance her to get another like.

Astarion be like: Look I'm not sad that she's dead but we could've used her to our advantage

Careful with that in honor mode. More enemies get radiant retort and that could be an insta kill for you if not paying attention. Most of them are later tho like in shars.

She dies at the grove.

The thing is, it would have been more realistic for a githzerai to be in the party rather than a githyanki. Githyanki do not compromise ever and do not respect other races. Githzerai are this too at a lesser extent more are more reasonable than their conquering cousins.

@@jakubs.5966 remember orpheus’ honor guard? They were definitely githzerai monks. Realistically speaking, you would not trust a githyanki after what happened in the patrol. The githzerai also hunt down mindflayers. At that point I would have betrayed laezel after seeing what her people do. Everything about her screams “trap” like she was using us to go to the creche. They will out right kill you once they reach their goal. I might just make her fight us at the creche so I can be rid of her already. The whole thing with Laezel feels poorly constructed. like there are no real turning points in her character at all other than our persuasion rolls which is essentially jedi mind trick in this game. After that whole deal with the patrol i may just let shart kill laezel. Cause if we did not meta game this, shart has a point: we cannot trust the githyanki.

@@nathanieljefferies5491 I think it would have been cool to have more of a githzerai presence in the game, but I still think it's awesome to see a more fleshed out exploration of the githyanki and their culture. Lae'zel is young and is willing to change her mind on things when given the time to learn, and that's the whole point.

I think she didn’t save the teiflings so mol isn’t there. So when she meets Jaheira for the first time, Marcus comes to intervene instead of mol.
