I can't imagine myself being away from my family and to live on my own in other country at such young age, you're so brave. and Anna, I'm so so grateful that you started UA-cam! Your videos are entertaining and I learn new things always. So so happy I got to know you as well through UA-cam 💜
That is some life story 😲 You definitely were (and still are) a highly talented person. 🐅 moms are incredibly fierce and difficult to negotiate with. I hope she was able to see what an amazing daughter she has. 4 years is definitely a long time for a relationship. I’m guessing its duration had something to do with how you and your partner at the time genuinely want the best for each other. Enjoy your time in Korea, Anna! You deserve nothing but the best. I’m sure your dad is thrilled to be able to spend more time with you ❤️
Omg I just realised something about my life from your story, you're like my therapist :O I used to sing at a young age and I was constantly performing everywhere and NEVER had any anxiety or shakes, I didn't even know that was a thing! Then one year around primary school I started having stage fright out of nowhere and had severe shakes before going on stage and would ruin most of the songs so I decided to stop singing in front of people altogether and it's probably been more than 20 years now. But from your story I realised that I remember my mum criticising my singing and comparing me to other kids at one point and then I started having this stage fright! Even now I still cannot sing when my mum is around in case of being judged. Now I know why I got stage fright out of nowhere 😤 Asian mums really affect our mental health.
Anna, I don’t know if you’ll read this because it’s been a year since you made this video. I just want you to know that I am so proud of you for sharing this story. I can relate so much to your story and I’m sure many other people can too. You are a special person, so be proud of yourself, and carry on. Take care and I wish you the best for the future. ❤😊
I feel like just talking about your life with others and having that courage of having thousands of people knowing the real you is a huge step for future growth. It took me into my 30's to finally do some work on myself, while being single for these last few years has definitely helped speed up the process, its also tough living alone through these strange times. Keep up the good work and all the best with your new future in Korea.
i can't believe i seat the entire video listening to your life stories. feels like I was there. I understand what u mean when u didnt like awakeness, that sleep is a better state than being awake. well im glad i found u on youtube, that desperate decision really bring goods to a lot of us.
You are strong woman...despite of all depression and anxiety uve gone tru you are still able to continue living with a lot of positivity...love u from philippines
It was a well spent time listening to you and knowing more about you! ❤️ I’m glad you’re happier there! I’ll definitely visit Korea in the near future.. hope to meet you there!
aww thanks for sharing & being so vulnerable!! i think it's great you're telling your story with us & so proud of you :,) can't wait to see all the cool things you do in the future
ah I love seeing Bean. And good for you on staying in Korea, it seems like a logical choice. And good that UA-cam could help you in these times of Covid and lockdowns. I really enjoy your content, whether it's the prank videos on your conservative dad or grandma, or videos about health and fitness or song covers. Your videos have really helped me, I started intermitted fasting, working out regularly and so far i've lost about 6kg. I'm slowly, but steadily working to be healthier and fitter, and most of it is thanks to your videos, so thank you.
I'm learning English since kindergarten because in my country it's taught to every student and its very important to learn English, otherwise you won't get a good job!! :(
Wow thank you for sharing your life story :,) I can’t imagine what it was like to move to a new country at a young age, but it’s beautiful to hear life working in a way we least expect. Also so great to hear about your journey with the violin too. I most definitely had self doubt in areas where I had to excel during puberty.
You opened up your mind on what has been and what you feel right now. It would..I feel be cathartic, I guess. One thing I would say, would be never resent the path you took..or in the way what your mother made you do..Everything happens for a reason. Everything will come to pass..and change is the only sure thing that happens they say..blah..blah..BUT maybe in a few years you would make another leap of faith to move...maybe not back to UK but somewhere else where you may find solace..with some one more deserving. I am sure some one will sweep you off your feet..and than retrospectively nothing matters...a new life and the future will be all that matters. Than...in the future in your own life..you may wish upon your children, to do things that you may think is best for them too! .Mothers, especially Asian mothers evolved but have always been a bit strict but I am sure there is "loads" of love...Yes. I believe your mom will wish/ guide you from up above. I have worked with many cancer patients..who to me were very candid, nice and beautiful people one could ever imagine to be... and they taught me about life more than I can ever discover myself and many spoke of what they think most as they go through therapy..And that always meant many conversations that they could not have with their daughters or sons..and many impressed upon me how much love they had for their children but never expressed it enough...So.. you are sweet and I am sure you try to be better always...I am sure you will be great in whatever you choose to do....wishing you happiness always..hmm stay away from the pint of bitter though!.cheers!
That was almost sitting across from you in a pub (and I would've had a Hoegaarden in a Hoegaarden pint glass). That's a nice little story, with nothing bad-bad -- typical breakups, periods of self-doubt, sometimes over demanding parents, but mostly about growing up, maturing, and with a not terrible end result. Kudos for trying something new/different during covid instead of just pausing or shutting down ambitions. I'm mixed about you deciding to stay in Korea: very understandable, but you're now in much less cosmopolitan environment than the UK. But the Asia-Pacific area in general really gets overlooked by the West outside of food, K-pop, military threats, tech, and bad weather, so you could think about using where you are now as base for some possibly interesting visits.
Hi Anna, Thank you for your honesty and for sharing personal things which takes courage. I appreciate hearing your story, esp. as I feel that I can relate to your experiences (I would be considered a ‘교포’). I also grew up feeling like I wasn’t ever good enough, was always comparing myself to others who were ‘better’ than me… by the time I graduated from music school I think my self worth/confidence was at rock bottom. Btw the first video I saw of you was on the pizza club channel (I think your accent is cool!) Also I watched your videos with you playing violin and I think you play amazingly well, I can see the influence of your Russian teacher in your technique. :)
It was like listening to a friend. I really hope you're doing much better, i just know you're genuine and such a good person. I also hope you don't let anything bad get in your way💜
Thank you for telling us your story. And I’m sorry you had a childhood of anxiety. I know how you feel. I have panic attacks. And they really suck. So I know exactly how you feel. And also like a good beer. My beer of choice is Asahi. It’s a Japanese beer. But very good. In my opinion. And I know how you feel about moving. It feels nicer to be around family. But like me, both of my parents are now deceased and I have my brother and my nephew and my niece. And I love Christmas. My favorite time of the year. Jus don’t care for the cold no more. That’s why I’m moving to Florida next year. And to have a place in either Korea or Japan. Because I absolutely love the Asian culture the people and the food.
Broke my heart you sharing your relationship with your mom. I have a daughter about your age and I cant imagine doing that to her or to any of my children. Youre brave sharing your experience. 💕
I admire you, Anna ❤️🤗❤️! You have been through a lot but you have also developed so much as a person during the challenging young years spent in the UK. You are definitely a very strong young woman, glad you started UA-cam so that you can share your stories with us 🙂. You are doing great, keep up at it 👏!

It also weirdly helped me appreciate other people outside of my bubble. Okay I need translator apps to speak with some of the people, but that is no big issue to be honest. I am grateful to have found your youtube channel
Moving to America as a child was a journey on its own. It was a struggle to learn English as a secondary language. Those struggles were all worth it when I can order good food XD. Stay safe in these dark times.
There's nothing wrong for a Korean to speak perfect English. It's an advantage. (That San Miguel Beer is from the Philippines, glad you enjoyed it). Yes, I finished listening the entire story. Glad I shared 16+ minutes of my time with you Anna!
Many thanks Anna for such an encouragement life story. I must say that your mum had made the best decision for you and your brother. I have never ever known a Korean person speaking excellence English (in English accent) likes you are. All the best from Melbourne, Australia :-)
Thanks for sharing your story Anna ☺️ you’re amazing for moving to a new country alone at such a young age. I’m sooo happy to have met you through YT and I love following your journey! 💛

Another great video Anna, from beginning to end (thumbs up). Kudos for making your decision to stay in Korea! It's a real loss for London, but in life you just have to go with what you feel is best and right for yourself.
Hello I am CLAIR ! I was listening to your story and impressed, especially when you were plaing the violin on the stage with nervousness ! I would like to say don't be nervous little Anna Lee ! haha wow ! so you come back to Korea forever ! of course , there are so many things you left there, and many things you had in London , but you could get them again in Korea , I hope so ! Have a great day in Korea ! welcome back to Korea !
Anna thank you for sharing your beautiful life journey story not many people won't share that. But you did and open up your heart and soul. . I can only imagine everyone including myself seeing how difficult and hardship your life have been through.. You been through a lot now it's time to make up your lost time and enjoying every second that count .❤
Wow, you are Amazing. I miss being overseas. I lived in Germany 6 years. The first 3 as a Army wife. When we split, I worked & stayed 3 more years. I miss speaking more than 1 language. Moving around & living in different countries is the Best experience ever! YT fits you. You are adaptable, you treat people fairly. You are one of my favorites. I also like Kelsey, Danny & David. I enjoy your content. There is also a lady, named Agata. She works in Korea & visits all the cute coffee places & shows them. She is also interesting & shows interesting places. 🙏 Thanks for being You. 💖💗💞🫶💜💜

I really enjoyed hearing about your life story Anna! This video feels like chilling with a friend💕It must have been hard to condense your whole life into an almost 17 minute video but you did a great job! I hope you keep thriving~ this year with the virus really hit everyone hard but you inspire everyone each day with your videos🥰
Went to ur channel by chance because of yr review of Oli. Glad that u decided to stay in Korea. Living alone, in a foreign land, it’s tough. I hope u get more opportunities life. You’re talented, in music & language. Wishing u all the best 💜
just an honest story and it consoled me alot. I am an forgein student in Korea right now and honestly, do not like school or I have no idea how to make proper living here. My boyfriend is here but in another city and I get the anxiety and feeling of loneliness. Whish to start something but yeah the first thing in my mind is the visa struggle as well :'D I wish you the best. Wish could grab a beer with you.
Hey Anna, I wish you best in Korea! Its so nice to hear you speak so honestly about your life, I think many people will relate to you on some aspects :) and your violin playing is beautiful!
Thanks for sharing, Anna (Ji-Yun)! I know it's probably not the easiest thing to share your personal life on this type of social media platform. Like I said before, you seem to be getting on well back home and happy so cheers! Kudos to your Filipino beer choice, too!
Heres my life story ( I just wanted to share it) So I was also born in South Korea, Seoul and I was there for 8 years then my parents moved me to new Zealand because they wanted me to have a established life. My parents told me to practice singing, dancing, rapping and playing the piano and guitar well as I didn't want to disobey them or I would get an lecture. I became really fluent in English after an year and I had many friends and new Zealand was really fun! When I became 15 I became an kpop Stan and an army! I visited Korea more then before cuz I went to concerts. Also When I graduated I became a traveller because I loved visiting places. My parents agreed and I went to bunch of country's I've went to 34 countries so far! Now I'm 20 and I can't travel so much cuz of covid but I still went to Korea and I'm still in Korea! So that's my life story!
You know shit just got real when someone picks up a beer and start telling their love story 😂 also, San Miguel? That’s my friends’ and I go to beer when we start talking about life, broken dreams, failed relationships, science, conspiracy theories and sometimes....politics 😂 so yeah, San Miguel beer just hits you right in the feels LMAO! 😂 Glad to hear your life story without holding back Anna! ❤️😊

Thanks for sharing your story so far Anna. Yours is one of the few channels on UA-cam that I am enthusiastic to watch, as it always comes off as honest and not contrived. Ji Yun is a pretty name. Sounding it out has a nice light touch off the tongue (maybe lighter than the beer 😜). Oh... More Bean please. He's so cute.
I love this video of yours....to a few things I could relate. Thank you for sharing your story. I'd be very miserable if you didn't start your youtube....I guess we all find our fav ppl in the right time. I find you the loveliest and the prettiest. You inspire me so much. I think we should all find happiness even though sometimes reality is not perfect...Those times when you wanna sleep for days do nothing....I guess that the difficult times will pass. I m glad that I heard your Korean name,it sounds nice. :) Wishing you all the best. Luck,happiness....everything.

You're such a good storyteller, I love to listen to
Anna thank you for sharing your beautiful life journey story
not many people won't share that.
Glad you feel Happier now that you're back home! Much continued success Ji Yun in anything you do. Cheers ~
Yesss, San Miguel!! Oh man, the pressure of asian moms.. I can totally relate! I can't believe you were able to fluently speak English in 4 months, good for you! I'm glad you decided to stay in Korea! Thank you for sharing your life story ❤️
That was the most honest and sincere refection on a persons life i have ever seen by a youtuber. .Such are the vicissitudes of life which affect every living being. By a Malaysian subscriber.
Vicissitude! I learned a new word, thank you :p
@@anna.lee_jy I meant it judging by the words, you employed, your demeanor and body language, It was difficult but you decided to address the issue which you need not have addressed at all - res ipsa loquiter, - ( in its literal sense )
What a emotional story. As Korean mom myself with two girls living in America. I am glad finally you're setting in Korea and be happy,
U you've got a new subscriber.. Wohh.. Enjoyed listening to your story..

just an honest story and it consoled me alot.
언니일 줄 알았는데 동갑이네요! ㅎㅎ 친구랑 얘기한 것 같아서 너무 좋았어요!
Thanks for sharing, Anna (Ji-Yun)! I know it's probably not the easiest thing to share your personal life on this type of social media platform. Like I said before, you seem to be getting on well back home and happy so cheers! Kudos to your Filipino beer choice, too!
Heres my life story ( I just wanted to share it)
So I was also born in South Korea, Seoul and I was there for 8 years then my parents moved me to new Zealand because they wanted me to have a established life.
You know shit just got real when someone picks up a beer and start telling their love story 😂
also, San Miguel? That’s my friends’ and I go to beer when we start talking about life, broken dreams, failed relationships, science, conspiracy theories and sometimes....politics 😂 so yeah, San Miguel beer just hits you right in the feels LMAO! 😂

Thanks for sharing your story so far Anna. Yours is one of the few channels on UA-cam that I am enthusiastic to watch, as it always comes off as honest and not contrived.
