Excellent episode, Irina! I was skeptical when I read the 50 patterns title, but wow, you delivered and then some! Thank you for all the inspiration.
I love scrappy projects, so I always notice them
Irina, it is so nice to see that you have remained to humble and grounded since your channel blew up during the MKAL, unlike your co-host Martin😂😂😂. JUST KIDDING!!!! I hope to see more collaborations with him💗💗.
Martyn is a very busy guy :) But yes, we’ll definitely do something together again one day. MKAL was a blast
Thank you for such a comprehensive presentation of projects. There are many ideas, new to me, for ways to use the left-over yarns. Now I will have to make sure I have plan-over yarn, not just left-overs! Have a lovely week. Happy knitting!
Glad you found some new ideas
Thank you, not only the suggestions you choose are very beautiful, but, I have to say, I often start watching UA-cam knitting videos and give up, because the person goes on, and on, and on about her/his life before going into the meaty part, knitting proper. I really appreciate it that you go right to the topic, and I'll keep watching you for that as well.
Thank you for this feedback!
I don’t usually like scrappy projects so I appreciated you bringing some nice ones to our attention!
It’s also nice for those advents
@@Fiberchats yeah I don’t order those for that reason! Lol
This was a fantastic episode! Thank you so much for all the work you did to gather and describe these projects.
It took a long time, but I loved searching ravelry for all the ideas
That was a wonderful marathon of projects. Thank you, Irina, for so many wonderful ideas covering so many different projects. This was a great episode that I will be returning to often for new ideas.
I’m definitely knitting some of those as well
Still super relevant a year later. Lovely video, many thanks.
I’ll post a new one in January
Another brilliant episode. Thank you. My only negative (ish) comment on all these lovely ideas is that many of them focus on items for cold countries. Coming from Australia, it’d be great to have more items for those of us living mostly in hotter/milder climates.
Oh, that’s a great suggestion! I might do something separate for that. Thanks Cathy!
thank you so much for all your hard work in bringing us this wonderful episode!!
Thank you for watching!
I’m seeing this video a year later and I’m so glad I watched it. Thank you for all of your time and money to put these videos out there. I appreciate you. 🧶 💕
Glad it was helpful!
What great pattern choices Irina. I love the way you divided up the categories. Most people who do these lists put wraps, shawls and scarfes together in a single grouping. You put each in their own category. What a great way for me to find the perfect pattern in the category that most interests me. The only thing that might make this list even better is to actually put the actual Ravelry links in the show notes. Thanks again for all the great things you do Irina.
My pleasure! And yes, I’m my mind they are totally different:)
Wow! Jam packed with patterns and designers. Such a great episode. Thank you so much.
My pleasure
I just had to tell you how much I enjoy your site!! You have some interesting guests and you ask them some questions that are very informative. It must be so difficult for you to get all this put together so we may just sit back and enjoy. I loved how some of the quests would answer your question of "what is the most important thing to learn in knitting" the same way BUT use completely different wording. You are awesome, have ordered several of the patterns on your 50 ideas for leftover yarns... Thank you!!!!
I’m so glad you found this episode helpful!
Oh not just this episode but every one I have watched !! Wonderful job
@@betsynelson3150 thank you! So kind of you!
Fabulous ideas. Thank you for sharing all of these.
Irina, Thank you very, very much for this absolute wealth of ideas and patterns. Judy, Nelson Bay Australia
Glad you found them useful!
love the blanket with those fabulous cables!!
Yes, me too! I’m obsessed with her designs
What an amazing collection of patterns, I wish I were an octopus or at least possessed an ability to knit with my feet. Thank you so much for your hard work!
yes, me too. Arachne is my role model
What a great episode! So many wonderful projects for my leftover yarn! Thank you for curating these “stash buster” projects! You dis a great job! 😍😍😍
Thank you!
Thank you so much for this wonderful project collection 😊 I really enjoyed it
I’m so glad!
What an excellent colourful collection!!!
Thanks Monique ❤️❤️
Love to see such a variety of projects. Lots of wonderful Ideas! Thank you
My pleasure!
Hi Irina, thanks for putting together this extensive list with such a variety of items. I’ll have to add this video to my favorites for when I need ideas for what to do with the random hanks and scraps I have
Thank you! I found a lot of ideas for myself on that list as well :)
Brilliant Irina, I loved all your choices. One of my favorites is the Tailwind shawl, I have made a few and you reminded me to make another one with my scraps.
I loved knitting it as well, such a fun pattern
This is very handy for all the advent calendars I bought! Thank you for posting
Glad you like them!
Great podcast! You asked for ideas for future podcasts and how about charity knitting or crocheting? Spread the love and warmth to those in need.
I do love it! If you know of specific organizations please email me to fiberchats@gmail.com. I interviewed soapsack, a great nonprofit. Thank you for suggestion!
Absolutely fantastic episode! My Ravelry queue just expanded by 50%. Thank you for all the great research!
I’m so glad you found some new inspirations Gary
Wow, so many good ideas. Thanks a million to you, it must have taken forever to gather all these❤🧦🤓
It did take a bit 😂
Brilliant idea for an episode! And so timely LOL😂. Thank you!
another great stash buster is 'shortest day shawl" by Christina Gordon
Thanks for the compilation, Irina! I've totally just put the V-back Tee in my queue.
It’s so cute!
Irina, thank you for all the great ideas.
Glad you liked it!
Thank you for this excellent episode! I have ended up with an inspiring list of new to me project ideas. Clearly you spent huge amounts of time researching these patterns. Your efforts are greatly appreciated!
Thanks Esther! I was sort of questioning my sanity towards the end lol
Lots of great idea's here, and as usual at the perfect time.
Thanks Jo-Anne!
That was wonderful! Thank you for sharing! ❤️
Brilliant. Thank you.
Great episode. I saw patterns I had never seen before. Thanks for sharing.
Have fun knitting them!
Thank you for this video! I appreciate all the research you did to find the fifty ideas!!!
Glad you found it helpful!
Thank you for all these excellent knitting ideas. Great, creative ideas. Can’t wait to start some.
Best of luck! Would love to see them when you are done
lovely list with beautiful knits, very inspiring 😊✨✨
Thank you!
Wow, you must have spent a considerable amount of time with research for all these nice suggestions! Thanks a lot!
It took a while:) thank you for watching
❤ thanks for another very interesting podcast! You are amazing, Irina! ❤ I will practice my brioche with some of your suggestions! 🙏👍
And concerning your question: I am interested in a series about yarns: wool breeds, other yarns, e.g. non-animal yarns and the items they are best used for. There are so many sheep breeds worldwide! But of course with enough details and depth - most knitters probably know the basics.
Thank you! I’m actually looking for the right person to talk about different breeds and different fibers
LisaR- Thank you ! Love so many of the patterns you've shared ❤
I’m so glad!
Congratulations and thank you for another superb episode! My Ravelry shopping cart is bursting at the seams now! LOL I've made some lovely knitted bags and pouches and here in Japan, another big thing is PET bottle covers - for when you purchase bottled water or tea on the go - the covers keep any condensation from getting onto other things in your bag, etc.
Oh, that’s very clever.
So many great ideas here, thank you! Love the Triangulum blanket by Ellie Jones of the Craft House Magic podcast for a big scrappy/Advent project. Definitely going to try the Squircle socks and woven stars for gift knitting too. Happy days xx
I’ve been playing with those stars, such fun
Thank you for sharing this wonderfully researched video. You gave me many great ideas!
I’m so glad!
Another great video! I'm a crocheter, but these ideas are extremely inspiring. Also, I say this with total respect: I love how you reminded me of Stefon from SNL 🙂
Haha, love it!
New to knitting and crochet....you gave us so much to choose from and was so thoughtful in describing each item and it's difficulty. Thank you so much. I know I will use this video as a resource for years to come! Happy Holidays!
I’m so glad!
Hello from Mounds, Illinois.
Thank you for all the suggestions. I just knit up the Izzy Teddy Bear Doll. So quick and easy!🧶
Aww, I’m so glad!
Excellent suggestions Irina.
Thank you
Thank you Irina, this was very interesting and I will definitely be checking them out. Hugs xxx
Glad you liked it!

Glad you liked them!
So many great ideas! I really appreciate how much effort you must have put in to this episode, editing everything together. And, I'm so excited you included socks! Most people would just think of shawls for advents or scrap yarns but I think socks are great too:)
Yes, they are perfect for that!
What is your Raverly name? Thanks Marianne I would Love to do your patterns 💗 Thanks Marianne 💕
Thank you for this! What great and unique ideas! 🧶🧶🧶
Glad you liked it
Thank you so much for sharing so many wonderful ideas!!

Wow! What a great list of ideas!!! I want to knit them all. Thank you so much ~ I know that was a lot of work. You are always so positive & your enthusiasm is very catchy!! Going to make a few mittens & hat ideas for gifts. Happy Holidays.
I’m so glad you enjoyed! Would love to see what you’ll make
I am Loving your Art I seen your work during the interview with Stephen West your Shawls are beyond Lovely perfect looking knits and the gauge is WOW Lovely 💗
Aww, thank you
Some great ideas there, thank you.
My pleasure
Thank-you very much for all this research, a lot of work. I added many to my favourites on Ravelry, 🇨🇦
Glad you found it helpful!
What a great episode. such beautiful patterns it must have taken a lot of time to compile them all. I will definitely be revisiting this episode. My problem with using my scraps are I have mostly variegated yarns in a wild disparity of colors and weights so combining them into a single project would be jarring. I have seen someone who took her scrap balls of yarn in a variety of sizes and pinned them to a wreath form. That was beautiful. And since they are pinned on if you needed to use one later you could just pull it off. I may have to try that.
That’s a great idea
Thank you for all these possibilities! I love your ideas and that we can make multiple things with the advent or scraps!
Hopefully some crocheters can recommend some advent/scrappy patterns too.
I’ll ask for some recommendations
❤❤❤LOVE this episode - while all good, the list of project ideas here is just awesome - thank you!!! Perfect time of year for this.
Glad you find it helpful!
Thank you Irina for this fab episode. You have given me (a beginner) some wonderful ideas with some unusual patterns.
BTW I have been meaning to tell you that you looked spectacular in your Westknits MKAL Grand Finale when you interviewed Stephen West. You always look beautiful. In particular you were wearing a black V-neck ruffled blouse and you looked amazing!
Aww, so kind of you! Thank you
Thank you for doing this video. So many wonderful ideas!
Glad you found some new inspirations
Great recommendations!!
So many great ideas! Thanks.
Thank you

My pleasure! Would love to know what you’ll make
@@Fiberchats I'm smitten with the Safe at Home blanket, have never tried intarsia before. But I also love the Glam Garden Wrap, the teddy bears and the woven stars. I need more time to knit...
@@orangeandyoghurt me too! Wish I had more arms

Amazing compilation! You did a ton of research - thank you 🙏🏼
Great you enjoyed!
excellent eipisode. You inspired me to knit Field of Flowers with my advent kit . lets see if I can keep up one per day. I doubt it. lol
You totally got it
You have given me some great ideas, I have had the Iona pattern for years perhaps it is time to knit it lol ❤
I think it’s most definitely a sign 😁
Great research Quite many ideas ! Thanks ! My head is spinning a bit, but I am looking forward to emptying my leftover yarn basket. Glad to know you will go for a Celtic Blanket by Lucy Hague. Yes, it is your kind of project !!! I think I will go for Marled Mania Leggings by Stephen West, because I need leggings and that should take care of quite a lot of leftover yarn. 😉 But I took note of all these great ideas, my daughter will certainly receive one or more of these Soho Scrunchie.
Irina, you are so very generous, I can't imagine the time you put in searching for all these great projects. I am filled with joy thinking of all these great gifts to knit.
A thousand thanks ! 🙏
Marked mania leggings are on my list of projects to knit one day as well. And the soho scrunchie is on my needles as we speak
@@Fiberchats Irina, how many hours did you put in preparing that 50 ideas episode ?
@@nicolelafontaine1720 that took a hot second 😁 it took me 3 days to compile that list, 2 days to film it and 20 hours to edit
So helpful! Bookmarked! Thanks for the great collection xx, @Professor Purl
Thanks Chris! Xx
Thank you! This was another great episode as always, I have saved many of your recommendation s in my ravelry favorites.😀😀
Glad you found some new inspirations
This is an amazing episode!! Would you be able to add time stamps for each section? It'd really turn it into a resource ❤
I’ll see if I can do it
Wow, love these suggestions! Several have gone in my Ravelry queue, favourites and library. Thanks for all the time you spent putting it together, hope you had some fun while you did this.💖
Oh yes! Of course the idea was born while I was searching for my next scrappy project :)
I love this episode ❤thankyou
My pleasure

Thank you for noting the caliedoscope sweater asa beginner pattern. I'm just starting to knit sweaters!
let me know how it treats you :)
loved this, lots of effort for you
Thank you for watching
Thank you so much for putting this together! Always need something to use up the scraps. Another great scrappy blanket is The Beekeepers Quilt by Tiny Owl Knits. Also, the Sea Glass Sweater or Tee by Wool & Pine, super stash buster.
Oh, thank you! I’ll check them out
I absolutely love this episode! Thank you for all the work put into researching these projects. ❤
Glad you liked them
Thanks so much for all the great scrappy ideas, Irina! That must have taken you a LONG time to do all that research. Whew! I am going to print off the list for reference! 💕
This episode took a while to put together, plus 20 hours of editing. So glad you found it useful!!
Thanks for this, it was great. I have already added several of your suggestions to my favorites in Ravelry.
Yay! Glad you found it helpful
Hi! I wanted to say thank you for making this video, I discovered so many amazing designs, I love it!
I also wanted to add a little note on size inclusivity: it should also go the other way, many patterns do not include my 29 inch bust (I'm an adult) but are still tagged as inclusive.
I agree, we should all be able to fit the pattern of our choice
This was an amazing podcast. I found so many interesting patterns that I have to knit! Thanks for putting this together😊
My pleasure
