While these are all lovely patterns & I wish I could make some of them, they are all knitted. Why not show some for those of us that only crochet? I would love to see a video on that. Thanks.
As an avid consumer of Vlogmas, I would say don’t feel obligated to do daily vlogs. The good news is that there are more Vlogmas content creators; the bad news is there’s still only the same amount of time in which to view them. I will be casting on Helen Stewart’s Anthology Throw within the next two weeks and am really looking forward to it. Great video with so many good advent minis pattern suggestions!
i also really enjoy when people do vlogmas but only post every week! (is that still vlogmas?) Anyway, it's a nice way to still catch up with a creator without feeling like you HAVE to watch every day
The Book on Pie by Erin Jeanne McDowell. Get it. It gave me that aha moment when it came to crusts. She has a partnership with Food52 and has great videos on UA-cam called Bake it up a Notch. She has several episodes on pies. I’m not a huge pumpkin pie person but Claire Saffitz has a version in her Dessert Person book that is calling my name. She has a channel here on UA-cam as well and has walked us through most of the recipes in that book, including that pumpkin pie. Thanks for the advent pattern recap. It was great seeing so many options for my advent this year.
This is the first time I've tuned in and I've enjoyed your advent round up. Thank you! I subscribed to CH Knitvent and I can't wait to cast on the anthology throw too. I do a swap with another friend who spins, so once I have my 24 parcels of fluff spun up I plan to use them for that project. It's beautiful. ☺☺
Wow, what a fabulous chat today! I am deeply into the looking through scrappy/mini patterns. Thanks for sharing your bundle and your thoughts of some of the patterns you shared. After watching this I’ll go dive into your bundle for a closer look and a bit of “Mini Dreaming”. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Salam wa sa’aadah
Hi, Joanna, I bought both of your holiday boxes (first time for either). They both have been delivered. Yay!! Thank you SO MUCH!! I would like your opinion, though you said you're tired of them. 😁 I believe there are 12 days for each(?), which should I open first, which second, or should I do them concurrently? Did you intend them for the 1st through the 12th? Or the 13th through the 24th? If I am more excited for one over the other, should I start the other on the 1st and save the "better" for last (I am sure they both will be fabulous!!!)? Anyone else want to weigh in? Just looking for some helpful suggestions. 💜💜💜 Love all your content!
Yay! So glad they arrived safe and sound and thank you for your kind words about the vlog! The choice of when and how to open the treasures is yours! Some have opened all out of sheer excitement. Ha! Since you got both you might do one the 1-12 and the other leading up to Christmas? That is a fun idea!
Fraiche food, full hearts or Jillian Harris’ blog has a delicious pumpkin pie recipe with pecan crust. It was sooo good and gluten free. Can’t remember if it would work for all your allergies.
A question for you...can you share what brand and/or style of cabinet that is behind you? I'm looking to add storage to my craft room and I like the height of what you're using.
@@StitchingtheHighNotes the lace and edge are different, you can choose whatever design you want like this one but her pattern was my first experience with a round blanket, you just double the stitches every so many rows and it creates a lovely round blanket. I also knit a Kitty Pi which was a big round of wool with an acrylic fluffy edge. When you washed it in hot water and put in the dryer the sides rounded up and made the warmest kitty bed. That was when I learned to felt it in a pillowcase so the fluff didn’t bung up my washer🤣😂
Thanks so much ,,joanna!!! Love ed the ideas for advents,,,!,! Enjoy hosting ur thanksgiving day celebration,,,,, So Nice for you to be closer,,, Elaine🏡🏡🏡
Thank you for making this video! I'm always looking for patterns to use up my minis. The advent 2020 sweater definitely caught my eye! I'll have to go check out all the patterns.
Those were great suggestions! Thank you. I have been working on The Secret Garden by Tracy Arnold with a 2019 set of Advent minis. It's a beautiful pattern.
Great episode full of cozy inspiration! Another great Advent project is Lieneke Bosman’s “Advent Throw Wolop 2020.” I knit it with a 2020 Advent set from Sweet Sparrow (10 g minis) held with a strand of white Suri alpaca. Heaven! I was originally going to to the Habitation Throw but didn’t want to have to figure out the decrease point (the Wolop is back and forth instead of diagonal). Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
LOVED LOVED LOVED this highly anticipated video……what a JOY You bring as “you invite All to the table” …..so enjoyed your que of mini skein ideas….it got this 72 year Mema’s head….heart….fingers tapping…..grew up in Sacramento and so loved the coloring of those gorgeous trees….graduated and headed to college in the PNW in the late 60’s and never left….sitting now knitting on the shores of South Puget Sound…..please “keep on keeping on”…..Blessings to You and Yours….
Thank you Joanna, this was great, so many ideas. I love the "Tale as Old as Time Cowl" that your working on, and look forward to casting that on soon. The "Full of Minis Hat" is so cool, it also I is on my holiday knitting list. I lived in Sacramento when I was a kid, the Autumn there was my favorite time of year. Now I live in Washington and it also gives us a lot of beautiful Autumn color. Take care and be safe while commuting.
Thanks for all the pattern sharing. I really like the Advent 2020 sweater. I think I'd like it in just a main color and a contrast. Also the Underrainbow is a beautiful cowl that I would very much like to knit and wear. Have a lovely Thanksgiving Jo!
As always, thank you for another great podcast and for sharing your mini-skein pattern parade. I especially like the Full of Minis Hat. The cardigan that you were wearing is beautiful. I was just talking to a friend about knitting a cardigan. Have a very happy Thanksgiving!
Thank you for the advent pattern suggestions! I can’t decide what to make with mine but I quite fancy the dolman sweater! Thank you for a lovely chatty video x

Isn't it awesome?! It's from the Kallax series from Ikea.
Lovely episde as ever, super inspired by The Long Skinny
This was a really fun video to watch. All the ideas for advent minis! Have a great time hosting Thanksgiving. 🦃
I love your habitation throws. They are absolutely beautiful 😍
The big round throw looks similar to Elizabeth Zimmerman Pi blanket.
Oh interesting!
