Advent knitting and crochet is one of the most fun ways to feel like you’re opening a little present each day of December! I went through ALL the advent patterns in Ravelry and selected my favorite to share with you. I’ve accumulated quite the stash of minis so this video is perfect for me! Money is a bit tight for me at the moment so I can’t purchase an advent but I was thinking of asking my sister to put together an advent for me out of my stash of minis so I still get the experience of a daily surprise without the financial commitment. My favourite holiday dessert is Pavlova (a must have at Christmas in Australia)
What I did this year since I couldn’t afford a whole advent was I bought a 7 mini skein pack on sale + a whole skein (yardage equals an advent) and am knitting the advent wrap! I’m so happy I still got to support a hand dyer but within my budget 🥰

My favorite holiday treat is my grandma’s thumbprint cookies. So buttery & the little bit of jam in the middle is perfect!
Natalie thank you so much for this! I have about 3 years of adventure I love but never knew what to make. This holiday is the first-time time I'm able to get back to baking and our family tradition has been Italian Christmas cookies passed down from generation to generation. Out of the 36 recipes I have, I will start with Italian butter balls, agnets, and of course biscotti. If any one wants the recipes just let me know I will gladly share

I agree that this was a super funny episode. Carlos is eating the candy and Arne is the candy police. I laughed a lot watching Carlos's facial expressions while Arne was so intent to get it right and then broke out laughing. I think the Gingerbread House in both creative and beautiful! After growing into adults my sister asked her for the recipe. She admitted her recipe is from the side of the box. Then she admitted the secret ingredient - made with love! ❤❤❤

My favorite holiday dessert is struffoli...Italian fried balls of dough dipped in honey with sprinkles on top. Delicious with an espresso. Natalie you have such a fun podcast. Enjoy the NY winter....be sure to go see the Rockettes, St. Patricks Cathedral, and the Herald Square Windows, this holiday season. Perhaps you can blog a day for your viewers. I'm a retired NYC teacher and each December we would go to the Museum of Natural history to see the Origami Tree, and visit the NY Botanic Gardens in the Bronx for the Train Show. Oh what fun...I sure hope my students are returning to those places with their family. Happy Holidays All.

My favorite holiday treat is shortbread cookies. I can’t get enough. While I’ve never purchased an advent calendar before I decided this year to create my own with scrap balls I had lying around. My daughter chose the yarn and the colors to keep it a surprise. I plan on doing just a traditional granny square blanket in the round with it. Thanks so much Natalie and happy advent!

My favorite holiday dessert is a family favorite recipe called cream cheese mints. It’s just cream cheese and powdered sugar and mint extract. Roll grape sized pieces into balls, roll in sugar, then flatten it with a fork and allow it to dry. They are absolutely amazing!

This was such a great episode. I loved your survey of Advent patterns and can’t wait to check out the bundle. My “favorite” holiday dessert is molasses cookies, chewy not crispy. I like other cookies more, but I only ever have these at the holidays.
