      @@Compass14-y5q glad to have another opinion on it mate, for the price point I think it's excellent and a perfectly useable entry level night vision system.

    Hiya lad, I’ve got one of these units also but I’ve hardly used it much because of the latency, anytime I have used it it’s normally just been for either recording something or static observation, it’s alright for what it is, if you ever need/want to upgrade then ide have a wee look at the nvg30, considering one of them also since I used to run the older nvg-10 before I made the jump to analogue

      Hi mate,
      Had a look at the 30, looks decent kit.
      Have you tried the new update for this? Works better with ir lights on, passive can be slow to update especially if refresh rate is changed.

      I was made aware of a firmware update to fix a critical bug and frame rate issues shortly after the device was released, got that one downloaded but unsure if there are any more that’s been pushed out since then

    That looks quite a nice little toy.
    Does it take long to fire up, or is it turn on and ready to go straight away ?
    Also does the eye piece turn around so that you could use it left handed / eyed ?

    • @Scottishprepper73
      @Scottishprepper73  4 місяці тому +1

      Hi mate, thanks for your question.
      It fires up in around 3 seconds. Just checked the eye shroud is detachable ,and can be re attached for the other eye, so yes left or right buddy.
      Cheers

    What are your thoughts on night vision on a phone, I've been looking at the ulefone armor 22.

    • @Scottishprepper73
      @Scottishprepper73  2 місяці тому +1

      I'm going to be honest with you, I've never tried it.
      What I would say is situation dependant , it may be a bad thing.
      If for talking sake your in a situation where your safety may depend on being unseen at night , the bounce of the light from the screen onto you will telegraph your position, with a dedicated monocular or goggles you will have rubber eye pieces to prevent light leak .
      So for me on that basis it would be a no

      @@Scottishprepper73cheers for your reply,I'm sure I could make something from a vr type headset for a phone and put a balaclava or a snood to keep in the light, not 100%sure it would work or I could end up blinding myself 🤦

      @@OutdoorPrepper2025 I'd worry about it moving,during activity etc and then the light spilling.
      It really does depend on the situation if lighting up your position is a factor.
