I can’t imagine what border you came up with that will look cuter than this one. I love watching your videos because it is almost as if I just came over for coffee, a kid let me in, and I wandered into your sewing room where you are happily explaining to me what you are doing. Thanks. I think I can do this. I’m going to try. Now.
Aw I love this comment, thank you 🫶🏻😁🤗
I feel the same way! Her voice is just so assuring and calm. I love it😊
👏👏👏ya I wish I could just wonder in her house too!!! Nikki is so awesome🥰
❤️😀
I love this description! It's true! She makes everyone feel like we could probably do what she's showing us! She's fantastic! 💗
I’m so thankful you decided to teach your skills on UA-cam.
Aw thank you 🤗
You are adorable!
This is perfect for the wonky house quilt! Can't wait to see the finished top!😊
This comes just at the right time for me, gonna try it right away. Thank you, and... yes, a drunkard path should definetly be wonky 😂
Love your tutorials. Very informative and you always make me smile.
So clever! Yay! I've always steered clear of the drunkard's path block because of the curve. This method makes me think I can do it! Thank you!! Love your videos💕 Can't wait to see your finished quilt.
I've been sewing/quilting for years and have always wanted to make my own Drunkard's Path quilt. I attempted one curved section, got frustrated, and have feared sewing curved blocks since. Not something I like to brag about, lol. Thank you for making it look easy, explaining it like we're all there with you, and most of all for getting me excited to try again! My Drunkard's Path may wind up pretty wonky, but I can't wait to start!😂
Looking at your cutting mat, I realised that I have a large wooden lazy susan that I don't really use. It could easily hold a 12inch sq or larger cutting mat on it. I might give it a try if I need one.
That's an excellent idea! I bought a cheap "rotating mat"..... and alas, I got what I paid for....it really doesn't rotate at all. Now I'll have to find where my lazy Susan is..... hopefully I hung on to it!
Looks like a wonky roadway!!
Good tutorial and congrats with conquering your fears! My first quilt 25 years ago my cousin started me out on a Drunkards Path pattern we worked on together. I think it took us two years to make a queen size quilt 😅❤ but we did it!
So excited!
Great tutorial, thank you! 😊
As I am gathering supplies and making a plan to make a wonky quilt, I was trying to think of a way to make a round tree and re watching this gave me thie idea to use 4 of these half circles to make a tree. I am sure that is know to most quilters, but all of this is new to me. We are currently redoing a room to take out the double doors, make a single door and add a closet to make a guest/sewing room. I want to make a wall to tack projects up like you did. Thanks for the ideas.
The apple core quilt kicked my butt. I have a WIP waiting for me to finish it. Hopefully sometime this year.
Love your tutorials. Easy to have a go at later. xx
BTW LOL I hope someone has told you by now that the background piece, with the curve cut into it like a cave, in the Concave piece. The bulged out, "pregnant tummy" piece is the Convex. Some people use the terms Pie and Crust, meaning the curved piece that looks like a slice of pie is the Convex part, and what wraps around the "pie," the background, is the Concave Crust.
So cute! Can’t wait to see the completed quilt!
When I sew a princess seam I do it so the inner curve (convex) is down and the outer curve (concave) is on top. Then I just hold up the outer curved side and feed it down as I sew. It helps to alleviate the puckers - I'm going to try it and see if it works here too.
Another amazing tutorial.. it takes a little practice get used to the rotating mat but I love mine.
I tried making these before, even after watching your video. I have decided I did not watch it well enough, and I see now that I was missing a crucial step. I was cutting the curves separate from the pieces I wanted to pair them with, so they never turned out right. Duh! lol. So I am going to try again. I've watched this video so many times because I am a perfectionist, I will not give up because I want these curves on my own wonky house quilt. I'm buying your turning wheel with your affiliate link and I think that will help too. Thank you so much for this tutorial. It is very inspiring to see you make them.
You can do it! 😁
@@PinCutSew you're up early. LOL 😂 Early bird gets the worm I guess. I really appreciate your videos. I understand your teaching style. Thank you.
I love the drunkards path. Very versatile.
Pretty awesome.TFS🌴💕
Nikki - I recently discovered you and wish I found you sooner. I just wanted to share a T-shirt I saw on Etsy (I think) - across the front it said
Sewciopath - you really need to have that T-shirt - or make it!
That's pretty funny!!
You could just see both of the pieces together since they’re already matched up! Then you have two squares, and could use the other one for something else.
Brilliant 🙌🏻
❤❤❤
I just sew two pieces on a curve using my sewing machine. Then cut it out with 1/4 seam allowance. I dont use a tool or precut.
That's so smart!
Concave curve cut out of the white squares… I know I’m annoying.
When I f up (lol, a lot) I put the correction in the video when edited. This is so helpful thx, love ur videos ✌️
Concave , cave because it looks like a cave … a “hole” to go into… a”hole” for the blue to “go into” 👍
it did get annoying to hear the wrong description being used over and over.
Ain’t hating just nails on a chalkboard board kinda thing … can u hear it ?
Yeah, lol, I realized it when i watched it back, but it was posted and too late by then! It’s fine, I have a whole video about my terrible quilt math and those are kind of mathy terms, so it falls under that disclaimer 😂😂
@@soSEW-COB I just watched this and was thinking the same thing. It's one of my pet peeves, getting the terms wrongs. take care
Concave think cave is the open mouth 😂. Convex is the opposite rounded out like an eye.
