@@sportzntouring I studied some hours yesterday about the right tires. I will take the Contis 7 because of a lot of reasons. They are good in dry and wet weather, handling is the same as the 6ers but they are now slightly more comfy AND if I wanne make very quick corners they will keep the lane. I drive defensively and they will not wear out until I have 20.000km on it. I have now 25k and they are still in good shape, but after a very long road trip to scandinavia they are finished (in scandinavia streets are out of rocks and eat the rubber a lot, they need this baucause of Ice and such). @@sportzntouring Pilot Sport 4s would have you covered for that.
I bought the continental sport contact 7 on my leon Cupra after 500km the tires are already well worn it's weird
Without any context about whether you've had your alignment checked when fitted, or how you've driven or where (road/track?) it's hard to know what to make of that. Can you say more?
@@sportzntouring I only did very fast mountain pass road on a Leon Cupra my geometry and very good but the sidewalls of the tires are rather soft in intensive use they wear out too quickly despite the low temperature 15 degrees on the track I give cheap of their lives the goodyear F1 supersport and a better solution better steering and firmer the continental sport contact 7 s wears out like the Bridgestone potenza sport too quickly
@@Nalafraser thanks for the info! Good to know! One day, if tyre companies sponsor me with the tyres rather than just buying them myself, I will be able to justify full tests, including wear and lifespan. Thanks for updating us.
@@sportzntouring I tried today the good year F1 supersport really disappointed after the continental sport contact 7 the tires make noise in the turns and the power does not pass on the ground I will put my continental sport contact 7 back on even if the wear and fast on the less it holds power very well
Continental said...... the cheque is in the mail ??
Ha ha! I wish! No, this was a completely independent review. I paid for the tyres.
No 205/60/16 size for my Honda :(
Ahhh, so sorry to hear that!
Sc7 for my FK8?
Please check the sizes with your supplier. And, read the comments as not everyone has liked these. As I explain in the video, there are trade offs for the sporty feel, i.e. comfort. For some, that's important.
Still noticing the wheel chaos in first three gears over 4000rpm but safety reasons are more important to me. I never liked the Contis but I should not like safety features but appreciate them.
Put them on my type r 245x40x18 they look like balloons lol with 35psi in them seem to have soft side walls disappointed
Sorry to hear the look isn't for you. That's the same size as the fronts on mine and I can't say that's how mine looked. I hope the sensation of grip makes up for it.
I had these fitted and now for sale of my E90. Gone back to ps4s. Biggest mistake I made
Really? What didn't you like about them?
Interesting? I want to try them on my E93 M3!!!
Terrible tire wear. I've just gone through a set on an A45 in 12,000 km.
What tyres did you have before and how many km did they last? Did you have your alignment done when you swapped them over? Was there any additional spirited or track driving in the last 12k km?
@@sportzntouring PS4S previously. 36000kms. No track. Wife's car. 50% highway use. Perfect alignment. Swapped front to rear at 5000kms. (as good as PS4S for wet and dry grip btw)
Interesting. Based on TyreReviews testing (on their UA-cam channel and ratings on TyreReviews.com) the wet and dry grip is better on the SC7s. Wear is rated slightly lower but not that much lower. I've not noticed any severe wear on mine. But, at the end of the day, I can't disagree with your personal experience... I'm am, however, surprised as it doesn't align with mine or TyreReviews' findings.
Too bad their sizing sucks.
Couldn't find your sizes?
@@sportzntouring 275/35/R18 for my MKIV Supra ... not found.
Not really sure you know what you're talking about.
At 7:12 I agree with you and explain where to get a real expert's opinion 😁
@@sportzntouring Thanks. And sorry, I'm still sore about the loss of Quentin Wilson's astute consumer reviews on old Top Gear.
Well, at least you know I'm not trying to be an expert, just an enthusiast sharing my experiences. 😉
I hope I don't meet anybody like you on the road..... you should be on a track driving like that.
Really? If I was on track, I'd be pushing. That was very tame driving based on the abilities of the car and myself... Keep in mind that exhaust sound and wide angle lenses can give the impression of greater speeds 😉
