Yay! This way of eating has been my solution to belly bloat, too. Works great . . . ALSO: two suggestions for chip alternatives: "keto cheese chips" (EASY, & husband loves) "keto kale chips" (husband not a fan, but people who like green vegetables really like them)
I like her already as she didn’t care going to the make up artist, to the hair salon, to the boutique and to the mani pedi joint. Natural ladies are the real ladies!
17 days... 16/8 Low Carb...From 200.4 to 190.4 as of today. I'm 66 years old. Have arthritis in one of my fingers. Had not been able to flatten that finger in almost a year. It no longer hurts in the middle joint, and it's almost 100% flattened. I lost 5 lbs. the first week, then very slow... until this week...have lost 4 lbs. in the last 4 days. I feel great.
I am 52 years old. On January 1 I decided to change my lifestyle too as I felt horrible, ibs, digestive issues, fatigue, horrible sleep, as I too am in peri menopause. I did same thing. 16/8 fast, under net 50g carbs, no sweets, no processed foods. I weighed 153lbs when I started. By end of February I weighed 135lbs and felt great. Since then I have maintained my weight but I don’t do 16/8. I am around 14/9. I have learnt how to potion control my meals so I don’t have to track anymore on my fitness pal. I learnt what works and what doesn’t. I also focused on walking 10,000 steps in the beginning or 30 min stationary bike, weights for arms and short light cardio on some days like 10 minutes. My body today looks the same as it did when I was in my thirties.
I have been doing intermittent fasting for a year. It’s coming off slow, but my size is much smaller. I feel so much better because im not lugging around the extra weight. My BP is down, but my stomach is much flatter, which I couldn’t do with exercise and diet. So far im down 40 lbs. and im 64 years old. It’s not easy to begin with, but it does get easier.
Yes, please, Renee❣️Please continue to do lots of videos with good ideas for low carb and intermittent fasting! It will help us all to stay motivated!!!💕
Hey Renee you go girl. I have been doing intermittent fasting for 2 years i try 11am-7 pm. If I go over i just adjust my time the next day. Some days I only eat at dinner because I'm not hungry. I'm doing only meat and veggies no cheese or any milk products. That's the beauty of life changing choices what works for one doesn't work for another. If I ate the foods you are eating I personally would cave. After 2years I have no desire for any thing other than the pork rinds. The old way of eating for me is misery. I feel great to be in my 50s I must give a shout out to Dr Ken Berry and Roger Raglin. For helping me to become the healthy person I am today. I enjoyed this video and seeing new ideas. Also try the cauliflower crust pizza so yummy. Ii do enjoy ice cream that is the one thing I do treat myself with. I have lost 75 lb intermittent fasting. Keep it up life change is great.
Congratulations on your loss and health changes. Dr. Westman and Amy Berger’s book End the Carb Confusion is a great read and explains so much that I didn’t understand about carbs in simple non-medical language. YT is not just for entertainment or crafts!
Hi Renee, this is the way I’m going to go about shaping up!!! I’m 77, active, working 2 days a week, living alone (and loving it) 😉 so doing all my own chores including gardening. The weight has crept on over the last couple of years resulting in a fat belly and hips especially. I love fashion but I don’t like how I look and i refuse to go up a size in clothes so thankyou so much for this easy to follow and effective plan. Day one will be at the beginning of October, I’m actually looking forward to it. I love your videos. Love from NZ. ❤
Good luck! It really is easy and effective. Renee has some great recipes and tips! And ignore the trolls such as the one who committed here. I got a similar comment on another channel.
Was told by my doc that I have fatty liver, prediabetes and HBP. I’m 55 and recently retired. I know the stressful job was a factor. Started doing IF and in one week lost 4 lbs. Thanks for your channel. Consider the noon/8:00 pm window. Your body will adjust to eating 2 hours later. Then you won’t feel pressure to beat the clock and be more relaxed in the evenings. ❤
I adjust my fasting window from my last bite of food - I prefer to eat my last meal in the mid-afternoon. However, we´re retired and have an active social life which includes dinners out - so I count my 18-hour fast from the last meal. I love how flexible this is.
Excellent video. I'm a 16-8 eater as well. Once you get to the delayed 1st meal, it feels so empowering! I have lost 50 lbs since covid, and have kept it off for over 2 years. So I fee your happiness. In closing here is what I tell people "nothing tastes as good as skinny feels". Bye for now, I'm keen to see your next video. We can always learn some new. I've subscribed 😊
Good for you Renee! I am a Dietary Technologist by trade. 22 years of my life...I worked doing that. One thing that I have to emphasize about any weight loss programs..... Be aware of omitting food groups. That is always a big red flag. I always recommend the Weight Watcher's program or the Canada Food Guide. Obviously, I'm Canadian. Your weight loss program has to be realistic for your lifestyle or else all the weight you lose is going to come back...after you go back to your regular eating habits. And sometimes, you will gain back even more because you have deprived yourself of your favorite foods. Yes, it has to be a lifestyle change....not just a temporary change to lose the weight you want. In fact, yo-yo dieting is more harmful to your body than staying at a constant weight. You are doing it the right way Renee. It always involves cutting back on the quantity of food & increasing your exercise. There is NO quick fix. It is hard to lose weight once we are older. Metabolism changes, our hormones make it harder, as women we already have more body fat than men do. That is why they can lose weight so fast compared to us. But, it is a struggle for anyone....male or female. It takes determination, being goal-orientated, & motivation. Get off of the couch & move your body. Eat healthy & it's OK to indulge in your favorite things....within reason & quantity. Simple....but, difficult for most. What goes in...has to be worked off. Water is the healthiest to drink & has no calories....& it is great for your digestive system & great for your skin & plumbing. :) You Go Girl! :)
I agree 100%! Most diets do not work for the long term. I'm way past menopause but IF this diet doesn't work for some, you might want to check out Pahla B and her utube channel and blogs. I know many people swear by the KETO diet so I hope this is the answer to your feeling good!
Sorry but I highly disagree! Potatoes, rice, bread, starchy veggies, sugar etc etc is NOT the answer, especially for diabetic’s, I threw the pyramid and other papers from dr office right in the trash, I would not have reversed my diabetes WITHOUT meds with eating the JUNK that causes diabetes type 2 in the first place!
Very well said!! There’s always trendy diets that come & go, such as this intermittent fasting/low carb. You need whole grains for all of the B vitamins. When you eliminate or greatly reduce food groups, you miss crucial vitamins. The old standby - everything in moderation!!!!
I have to say that while I have been somewhat following the keto diet I don’t get overexcited if I have a few too many carbs on one day but I do mean only a few too many, I would never eat a serving of french fries or mashed potatoes or a big bowl of pasta for example though I do have einkorn spaghetti now and then. I wanted to say that I haven’t increased my exercise one little bit but the weight has still fallen off. Having said that I’ve always been fairly active. One thing I noticed that made a huge difference also is having a glass of warm water with a teaspoon of lemon juice in it every morning, that’s when my belly fat really started to drop off.
@@molly5262 disagree! I don’t need the junk that caused type 2 and I follow some great drs on UA-cam! And moderation doesn’t exist, 1 potato chip leads to a whole bag! Sorry but you anti keto or low carbers, nope won’t listen to you!
You know you can adjust your open window. Actually changing the eating window length is good. My doc does IF and that's her suggestion as Jen Stephens who wrote several books on how IF works with the insulin and glucose levels and all about the window times. You could just change to 11-7 or add an extra fasting hour to make it 17:7. Doesn't have to be a huge jump. Give it a try for at least a week and see if you notice a change. It kind of jump starts you off of the plateau. You can also do a 18:6 once a week and that helps too. Let me know how it goes if you do these! You look fabulous!
Yes, more videos about the food you've bought that works and tastes good too, please. I have lost just over 20 pounds doing just what your doing now for the last couple of months. Intermittent fasting, counting net carbs (and don't forget to subtract your dietary fibers and sugar alcohols) and allowing for an occasional splurge like you mentioned! It's the best I've felt in years!
I have done the the same thing plus three others. I cut out all sugars, all starches, and dairy(except cultured like Greek yogurt and hard cheeses). I am 68 years old and lost 18 lbs in 3 weeks and was never hungry once. I don't count carbs or calories because without the sugars, starches, or dairy you're left with nothing but great healthy nutrition. I also do not use bad oils (only use evoo or Avocado oil and no processed food. Only whole real foods. I haven't felt this strong in 35 years. I found Dr. William LI on UA-cam and his book "Eat to Beat Disease" . All that and intermittent fasting, 16/8 like you. Oh! I have my first meal at 2pm so my 8 hour window will fit easier into my lifestyle (later last meal).
My husband loves his old fashions. Before Covid I lost weight by eating no gluten or dairy. Then Covid hit and they closed my gym. Too much wine and I gained it all back. Now 5 years later I found out I have high cholesterol so I’m watching what I eat. Now I have been doing the intermittent fasting for a week now and back to no gluten and no dairy. I go to the gym and do weights and cardio. I’m 67 and have always exercised and been fit but menopause put 20 pounds on me. I sure hope the IF will help me lose that weight!
Good for you, Renee. Abdominal obesity is one of the leading risk factors for heart attacks in people who are otherwise healthy so they earlier we stop going down that road as we enter perimenopause the better. I’ve been doing intermittent fasting for years and it solved so many of my health issues.
Thank you so much, Renee. I have actually lost 80#s eating low carb for Diabetes II. I feel wonderful! HOWEVER, you have re-motivated me. Your excitement, your recipes and ideas on how to substitute high carb food with healthier options. I will certainly watch this again and again to stay motivated. Also, Dr. Mindy is awesome. 😊❤️PLEASE DO MORE OF THIS TYPE OF VIDEO! 😃
Good for you! I’m 69 years old and started low carb intermittent fasting 6 months ago and am down 30 lbs! Lost my belly and my inflammation is in my joints is gone! Off all my prescription meds and labs are great. I’m on maintenance now and will continue this lifestyle because it makes me feel so much better. There are some really good low carb ice cream recipes out there you should try. Also my guilty pleasure is Lily’s salted caramel chocolate bar. My WalMart carrie’s it. I also have a favorite Chaffee recipe from Keto Twins. It is so crunchy and yummy. Keep up the good work😊
I'm the same age and have the same problems with my belly. All of these responses are really encouraging and inspiring me to try the suggestions. Thank you so much!😊
i like the 12 to 8 window just in case you running late by 6 just always remember you have to stay up at least 2 hours before bedtime , thank for the advice
This video was so inspirational on many different levels. Your discoveries on low carb options were fantastic. I'd had discovered the tortillas but the bread recommendation is greatly appreciated. The fact that you are also losing fat in addition to pounds is exciting and worth the lifestyle changes. Which then brings up the added bonus of extra energy from your new eating habits. Thank you, Renee. And thanks for the links. AND, yes, please keep sharing what you learn and the meals you're now making. Those, too, are wonderfully inspirational.
@@susanjetton6880 Mission brand Carb Balance Flour Tortillas. Not sure where you live or shop but I find these at my Ralph's and Von's stores (Los Angeles area). The bread recommendation is Royo Bread Company. That one Renee said you had to order because it was only in stores in New York. I did look for it here in the LA area just in case. But didn't find a store selling it locally. So I haven't tried it yet. But I agree with Renee that most low carb keto bread tastes like cardboard. So I'm going to order it online from Royo Bread Company. Hope this helps.
I started Keto 3 months and have done the intermittent fasting also I have lost 27lbs. I love it I have never had such an easy time losing weight. Meat 4-6oz and veggie and I am never hungry. I had not had a pork rind in 40 yrs put that off for 3 months. Gave in and they are not hard as a rock anymore. They did not tear up my mouth. They melted in my mouth so happy. So many Keto options that allow you not miss out on anything. I love my keto ratio with berries. You go girl and your skin is going to feel so much better.
Renee you look fabulous, and I'm so excited to hear that someone else is doing intermittent fasting, it's also helped me loose weight, and I had to do a few food changes also, but basically it's working for me so congratulations and keep up the great work.
You are so motivating that I started my weight loss journey following your method. I'm on my second day...and I survived. My hardest challenge is not snacking in the evening so this was tough but I kept drinking water and green tea to take my mind off food. When I checked my carbs list I couldn't believe how many carbs are in some fruits...
Love those Mission Carb Balance Tortillas! Thanks for the tip! I brushed a few lightly with olive oil on both sides, salted, stacked up, cut in 6ths, spread on cookie sheet and baked on 350 for about 12 minutes. Voila! Tortilla chips!
Hi Renee. You look fantastic. Not that you didn't already look great before you started your new lifestyle change, but I get how we can be more critical of our own bodies, and we should for the sake of being as healthy as we possibly can. Thank you for explaining that whole net carb thing. That always trips me up and I get so confused. I've recently made a change of eating just once a day (or when I'm hungry) if I can but definitely not more than two meals a day and and I am conscious of my portions. With just doing that I have dropped some weight in my belly area. I also walk daily like you, and just maintaining an hour daily walking schedule has really dropped love handles and belly weight for me over the last 3 years.
I have found Shirataki Noodles to be a great alternative to pasta noodles. most have 0 net carbs . I personally like the spinach angel hair shirataki noodles. :-) Love your channel btw and have followed you for a long time and love how you keep it fresh and truly just so relatable.. :-) Congrats on the 7.2 lbs!
Absolutely agree! Renee is very real and relatable. I have been a fan since the going silver phase and everything thing since. I just wish I had a little bit of her curls! 😻
That's awesome you got me wanting to to start low carb... I did keto back in 2018-2019 lost 70 lbs but I've tried to do it again and I've failed.... I'm going to try lowcarb I feel like it will be so much better
I am so happy for you Renee! You are doing a very sustainable, because it's sensible, approach to this way of eating. I was always such a carb girl all my life. Then I got the "you know what" last Nov. I didn't eat for several days, and when I finally got my appetite back, all I wanted to eat was tuna and eggs. I thought, hmmm..., maybe my body is telling me something. So since Nov. I eat in a 4-6 hour eating window, and eat mostly pasture raised eggs, pastured beef and sausage, cabbage, and pastured chicken. I have never felt better and have a nearly flat stomach at age 63. It feels so good to not feel hungry and tired all the time. I eat cheese once in a while as my treat. I'm going to try that yogurt - looks good!!
For the chocolate lovers try dark chocolate KETO CLUSTERS 4 g net carbs 3 g sugar per serving With quinoa, pumpkin and sunflower seeds, pecans, & almonds SO DELICIOUS
I thank you for the suggestions. I’m 51 as well got that belly fat. I started a low carb diet last month I’ve lost 22 lbs. I have a lot more to go … I love my yogurt and berries.
I eat mostly just beef and salad. I eat only between 12pm and 6pm (no exceptions!). I do the stationary bike 30 minutes in the morning. I do 10 minutes of resistance training in the afternoon. I'm losing body fat at a nice steady rate. Give it a try and stick with it for at least a month before you throw in the towel!
You are doing so well and I love to hear about the alternatives you are trying for foods you can no longer eat. I’ve been on a zero refined sugar, low carb diet for a while now and am down to my ideal weight. I also do intermittent fasting. I had to start this due to health reasons so the weight loss was a bonus. Also only eat organic and no funny chemicals including preservatives, food colorings etc etc. Once you start reading labels you realize how many toxic substances are in the food that people regularly eat.
My health is what started me on the low carb lifestyle. I was diagnosed as pre-diabetic and my doctor only offered drugs as a way to manage it. I found Dr. Westman and Amy Berger’s book End Your Carb Confusion through searching for a natural way to reduce my A1C which was 5.9 and going in the wrong direction. After seven months of my new lifestyle and changing doctors my A1C was down to 5.1! 🙂 My new doctor didn’t think an A1C was needed because my fasting glucose level was in the 70s. She’s now sees what a low carb lifestyle can do since my husband and I both go to the same doctor.
If you want to eat later with your husband, just have breakfast at 11am? Once you have been eating this way, you can move your eating window to suit your lifestyle I have found. After 2 years of 16:8 I no longer am hungry until just before noon so I can let the evening be relaxed social eating until 8pm if need be! Love it!💚
Congratulations On your find. Congratulations on the weight loss. You look fantastic. Not that it sounds easy enough it sounds very doable. I have got to do something I gained a lot of weight. I have multiple sclerosis so I no longer walk I eat a lot of junk and only one meal a day so I will be watching this video a lot and just see what I can get out of it thank you for this video all your videos
Great job with going low carb. Any low cab, keto, carnivore type diet with I.F. is beneficial. It all depends on how low one needs to go to get results. Some people are too far gone with insulin resistance for a low carb to help them if they have been 100lbs or so overweight for years. I've found another great substitute for the pasta to put meatballs and sauce on, and that is spaghetti squash. They can be boiled, roasted, or microwaved. I like it roasted or microwaved if I'm pressed for time. After they are done I just scraped the spaghetti-like "noodles" out of the shell and use them like regular spaghetti.
I went strict keto ( no store bought "keto" snacks etc) and I've lost close3 to 30 lbs and dropped from a size 12 to a size 5. I switched over to carnivore and my arthritis is gone, my type 2 is gone, my chronic migraines are gone and my hormones have balanced. My period finally stopped after 18 consecutive months, and I no longer have anxiety.
AND the age spots on the backs of my hands have faded! My face is thinner of course but my cheeks are rounded and plump. I include organs in my diet though and add organ supplements too. I think the collagen is responsible. I have to count total carbs though because some fiber is soluble and soluble fiber doesn't reduce carbs. Plus manufacturers are allowed to round DOWN on the nutrition label. So it's not reliable. Total carbs is safer when you have diabetes.
Congrats, I did the same thing at the start of the pandemic because I couldnt get veggies and I noticed the nagging shoulder pain went away completely. I have been 99% carnivore ever since.
@@pheenobarbidoll2016 It reversed my RA. Even the knots I had on my finger joints are pretty much gone. I know where they were, but nobody else knows I had them. And lets be honest, food companies lie on the label.
Congratulations Renee! I’m so proud of you! Low carb and intermittent fasting is the only way that I can easily lose weight. I’ve recently been too lax with my carbs and my eating window, so your video has totally inspired me to get back on track! Thanks, Renee! Love you❣️
@@Innerlight320 That could be true, but it also trains you to be satisfied with half as much food as you ate before. I only did it for two weeks, but since then I've had no urge to yo-yo.
@@Innerlight320 I haven't experienced any rebound. Part of what I/my body learned is that I won't die if I don't respond to every last impulse to eat. It would easy to see if there is any benefit for you by eating the same but compressing your eating into a tighter and tighter window. It's stress-free if you do it gradually. We call it fasting, but I think it's really just normal eating, and it is the constant eating and snacking that wreaks havoc.
I'm so motivated by your enthusiasm and success! I'm the same age as you, and struggling with the creeping weight gain as of late, as well. I would LOVE to see all of the recipes you featured in this video - and many more. They looked doable -- and yummy! Congrats on your achievement and thanks so much for sharing with us!
Renee, there's a receipe online for a pizza crust that is Keto friendly ,I think it is 3 ingredients. Shredded fresh cauliflower, eggs and mozzarella cheese.then bake it before adding pizza toppings..And you can still enjoy chips using low carb tortillas, cut in squares ,baste them with olive oil and bake them in oven.
Yes, I would like to see more videos on low carb meals. I am 62 and have been on a diet since May and only lost 20lbs. Like you, I never had a weight problem until my late forties, by late fifties I had put on an embarrassing amount of weight which made me feel so bad about myself that I avoided going out, I was afraid of running into people I knew and seeing that look on their face like "what the hell happened to you". So I would like to try the lower carb (not Keto) diet to boost my weight loss.
I’ve learned not to worship the scale. Body composition & inches is more of a success measurement for fasting. One dude effect is energy boost. It’s the best way to succeed in weight loss in my opinion. Congrats on your success!
I’m excited Renee. I became a vegan after 50. I am now 58 and I started getting that large middle because all the holidays. I got to 147 so I cut out sugar. I do use monk fruit sugar, in my coffee. I started my change on January 1st and I’m down to 142. 💃🏼💃🏼🙋🏼♀️
Also I follow Dr Eric Berg....he's Wonderful & FULL of information on health. It ALL MAKES SENSE! I don't drink water during a meal on sip alittle. Wait 30 min after or before to drink water. It delutes stomach acid needed for good digestion. Helps with acid reflux.
You are right on point, it is a life style and not a diet. In the IF community you will see people referring to it as WOL. I had no idea what that meant and finally asked someone and learned it stood for Way Of Life, lol! I love doing this, it has been such a help for me with my Crohn’s disease that I can never go back. You will find there are so many healthy benefits the longer you do it. So happy for you and that you are enjoying it! I have to admit, I don’t do the carb watch, I just eat what I want during my one meal, but I bet that also has a lot of benefits. I am going to continue watching you and hopefully get inspired in that area. I loved all your low carb food tips, very helpful! Can’t wait to see more 😊
Congratulations 🎉 We first warm up individual Carb Balance tortillas in the Air Fryer (3 min on one side) for thin & crispy oven baked 20 min @ 400 degrees individual pizza.
I have been researching intermittent fasting and this video popped up for me today. SO glad it did. Thank you for all of the food source info that you shared. It will save me some time, research and money by knowing in advance. Would love to see more of what you eat for meals. Looking forward to my own success story! Thanks!
Hello . Yes it is one week I am on veggie/fish/ fruit diet and 12 hour fasting diet. No hamburgers, hot dogs , chips and shtf food. Everything healthy!🙏 I have lost 4 kg this week just eating healthy! Cheers!
I love IF!! I’m not doing low carb but enjoy the benefit of fasting very much. Less inflammation is wonderful! Try some electrolytes or just salt when fasting is hard. It really helps!!
*YAY YOU! I'm so happy for you! Maybe I'll keep trying!* 6 days...gained two lbs...feel hungry, no energy and stomach is bloated. I've not tried the carb thing, but I gave up chocolate, cakes, sweets, things like that before I had even started IF. I dropped 10 lbs after almost dying and started to pay closer attention to what I was eating...took two months. The bloating hasn't gone away, nor my tired. I do have Fibromyalgia (probably why I'm tired) and had a hysterectomy. Before the hysterectomy at 56...I was thin and looked younger than most people in their 40s. Since then...everything has changed. I have a very small appetite to begin with, but if I try eating even less, I don't lose weight...if I eat normal or heaven forbit eat something I shouldn't...I gain. I told my husband I could starve to death and be the only person on this earth to gain weight from that. *You've inspired me to keep trying, but I'm certainly not having the results millions of others are having.* I'd be happy just to lose the bloat! And just in case anyone wants to know...I haven't cheated on IF (it was practically my lifestyle before I even started), and I drink about 5 - 24oz jugs of water a day or more. I've always drank a lot of water....other than black coffee, water is the only other liquid I drink.
If you cut the lavash bread into triangles and season them with garlic powder, or ranch or whatever flavor you like...bake them... they're delicious to use for dips
Anything you can share would be so beneficial! I've now been fasting for two weeks now; some things I was not sure about though, like rice and pasta, which I did indulge in this week. But much less of, and now I know! So, what you're sharing is soooooooo VERY APPRECIATIVE!! I Started this because we had a man stop by to repair our air filtering system ..... hadn't seen him for a good year and he was a whole other person!! like, HALF of what he used to be, and we talked about his fasting journey. I decided right then and there that I wanted and NEEDED to get my weight down. I've been on a downhill sloap these past few years with health issues and getting my weight to drop has been imposable. After seeing this man we've known for years drop so much weight and feeling so much better, I immediately jumped on board, except, I had no information to help ME. I've been drinking three to four 40ounce Stanely cups a day ..... peeing like pregnant woman!!!! LOL! My eating schedule is all over the place for my supper I feel, just because I'm not hungry and tend to wait and then it's too late, so I don't eat at all; not good I know! So, I'm learning so much from you so hope you keep posting! Thank YOU. Because since finding you accidentally, I am gaining more control and am learning from you! I'm so incredibly grateful! Even though I've made a few mistakes getting started, I have noticed my energy has SKY ROCKETED!!! My stomach is actually shrinking away and I'm noticing little changes; GOOD changes all over and notice I just feel a bit lighter when I walk! My thinking seems clearer and I'm not walking in circles like a zombie; I'm more productive and actually enjoying my summer vacation from school now! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, keep on educating and sharing!! And THANK YOU , once again, from little me, in Maine . 💛
Hello! Love this lifestyle ❤ I’ve been doing IF for 7 months and I love it. I eat 2 meals a day with a snack in between if I’m really hungry. No eating past 7pm until noon the next day. I’ll be 69 soon and no health issues or medication! Fasting and eating this way has turned my life around. Thanks for the xtra tips and tricks!
I am 55yo and same! I started gaining weight in my midsection. It is depressing. I used to be slim. Please keep sharing what you eat. I am doing IF as well. You inspire me to go back to IF and eating low carb. My problem is i work on shifts.
You can use crushed pork rinds on chicken. You can also make your own chips using the carb balance or flat pizza crust you showed. Cut them up and brush lightly with olive oil then sprinkle on everything but the bagel seasoning.
I learned alot on the group. It even helps infertility. Many women have posted that they couldn't get pregnant for years and after 4, 5, 6, 7 months on keto they are pregnant. Many have lowered their HBP, thyroid, and type 2 diabetes. Very healthy eating. Congrats on feeling & looking better. TY for this video.
Great ! I went from 176lbs to 164lbs to 156lbs in 1 1/2 mouths intermittent fasting it works that is fasting doing it every day. Yes I went into fat burning in no time.
I love this for you! Could you also add some mushrooms, spaghetti squash or zucchini spirals to the ricotta and meatballs? I always shy away from counting carbs or doing Keto because I love vegetables so much.
YES!! Absolutely videos in the future about what you eat and what recipes you use. Suggestion: depending on how long the food videos get, maybe just put the “food” section of the video last. That way, a particular way of eating doesn’t come to dominate your videos. I say this because I have always enjoyed your videos and would not like seeing your channel become all about eating and recipes. I can’t be alone in this. Thanks for all you do!
Intermittent fasting is good for you. I’ve been doing it for 5 years off and on. I don’t want to do it every day. And so I gained my weight back, 20 lbs. One drawback for me was when it was time to eat I was desperate and felt extremely deprived all the time. I use it now for cleansing benefits
Yes, more of these videos please. Some use shredded cabbage under their pasta sauces as a noodle substitute. My main addiction is the Cape Cod "lower fat" chips you held up. I eat a bag a week, Yikes. You can make chips in oven out of those low carb tortillas though. Cut up, spray with a little oil and sprinkle with garlic salt and or parmesan. Thanks for the bread option especially. Loved this video!! Laurie
Congratulations Renee! 5 years ago I gave up sugar and starchy carbs and reversed my diabetes without meds and went from 308lbs to around 165, but ugggg I’m gaining weight so I need to intermittent fast again and give up some stuff like skinny coffee syrups that have sucralose which is why I think is why I’m gaining. You Go Girl!
I went cold turkey and converted to black coffee. I do miss my honey and half-n-half...but I dedicated to getting rid of my bloated belly. So far it's been worth it!
I really want to do this but I’m a third shifter and it’s hard to go without food at night, working my tail off at a major appliance factory. I get the shakes bad! You are an inspiration to me and I’m going to figure this out! And….I’ve not put color on my hair for almost 3 months now and am loving my new gray. I’ve not ever had light hair. I love your channel!
2T of heavy cream (100 calories) for coffee is 2 carbs. Monk fruit or liquid Stevia helps with the sweetness. The Beat Diabetes UA-cam channel has a keto oatmeal recipe (unsweetened shredded coconut, chia seed, flax seed, chopped almonds, heavy cream).
I lost 10 in month of IF. Average 19-5 fasting. Couldnt budge anything for years. I keep to lowish carb. Read Delay Dont Deny. It's great to motivate to start. I ❤IF‼️
I think a big step is to have the alternate foods come as naturally and easily in the kitchen as previous food 'habits' have been. I'm sure it would help a lot to have a partner willing to make/try the changes too.
I appreciate looking at this video as I am in my first month of keto + IF 16-8 I realized I do not crave bread or rice or pastas or chocolate or chips. So I don´t need to get any substitute. Thank you for sharing. Lots love and peace and enjoy the ride.
I am doing IF and low carb. I also am doing anti inflammatory..I feel so much difference. Thanks for sharing your products and tips. Your recipes will be appreciated..
I just started this week and I feel great!!! Your videos are very inspiring!!! I'm doing 16-8 during the week and a 36hr fast from Friday dinner till Sunday breakfast : )
Thank you so much for this video!! I can't wait to start this lifestyle change! I have tried intermittent fasting in the past but did not decrease my net carbs along with it. I love how real you are about your experience with this. You are so motivating!! ❤
Omg this is just the video i need. I’m 40 so I’m not menopausal yet but i noticed my hormones have changed a lot and everyday for the past year and half my belly and arms have bothered the heck out of me! Thank you!
No need to give up any carbs! I fast for 20 hours and open my eating window for 4 hours. I thought it would be hard to do, but it's not! (I don't eat for 4 hours straight... a meal and a little snack - and I do eat pretty clean.) I make sure I get enough protein, but then I eat whatever else I want. I have lost 20 pounds now in about 3 months (and I am 56)! My inspirational people are Dy Ann Parham and Intermittent Fasting Foodie here on UA-cam. You have to be careful with some of the ingredients in those "keto" products, if you are looking to eat more clean. But great job, Renee! Keep up the good work!!!!!
Renee, you have such an incredible personality and I love your channel! Started watching for the curls and stayed for everything else. Have played with intermittent fasting, but now feel seriously motivated. Thanks for the tips and good advice, and yes, please do more sessions for us. Take care and stay well. You look great, by the way👍
I'm SSSSOOOOOOoooo excited for you! The last couple years I've been low-carbing. Hubs and I started with Keto diet and did great. But we have gradually gone more and more animal-based diet. So we eat mostly meat, eggs, butter, cheese. Of course, we have times when we treat ourselves, but keeping on this low-carb lifestyle has been great for us. Hubs lost 50 lb. and I lost 15 (I didn't have much to lose). We are 60 years old and feel better than ever! The bloat and inflammation going away feels great! Well done! Keep on going!
Absolutely the best results for me over 50.. hypo thyroid and peri meno.. did mainly dirty keto but did not see real results until I stated if. Lost 40 lbs in about 9 months
Omigod I feel like crying right now. I am 49 and in perimenopause. I lost about 15 plus pounds during Covid only to gain it back and then some. And it seems like it’s literally totally in my midsection. I have been so depressed and lost as to what to do. But your video was truly inspirational! I am sure I can accomplish the three lifestyle changes you mentioned! And thank you thank you for showing some actual low carb foods and meals! I will definitely be watching your other videos and would love more low carb recipes! Thank you so much ❤!
Hey Renee. You can also take a piece of parchment paper then add shredded cheese in a circle in whatever size you want then put in the microwave for a few seconds. You can just peel it off the parchment paper and use it as a taco shell. Thank you for sharing your low carb journey and yes I would love to see your recipes! My labs are the best on low carb.
Greetings Renee! Thanks for sharing your secrets with us. Yes, more videos like this, please! I'm having a hard time with my diet because I'm vegan and allergic to many grains. Somehow I know there's a way! You are such an inspiration to me. Love and blessings ♥️🙏
I am 68 and I started IF about 4 years ago doing 16/8 and then sometimes 17/7 and 24 hour fast on Mondays or one meal a day. I vary it because that could be the rut you are in weight loss wise. But living in Canada we cannot get away from the winter carb crave that happens like clock work so I don't sweat carbs and every spring I have 10 pounds I loose in a month by 24 hour fasts weekly. It is easy and I like the different recipe ideas like pork rinds crushed for coatings and more. You are on a new food adventure.......keep sharing♥
What low net carb recipe should I share first?
Easy lunch and dinner recipes 😊
@@johnnysgirl Will do!
Yay! This way of eating has been my solution to belly bloat, too. Works great . . . ALSO: two suggestions for chip alternatives: "keto cheese chips" (EASY, & husband loves) "keto kale chips" (husband not a fan, but people who like green vegetables really like them)
@@PLMannequin any tips are appreciated! Thank you

Woo Hoo!!!!! That's fantastic!! You go girl!
Woo hoo!! Way to go! That’s fantastic news 🥹
I am 66 yr what is the timing of windo in IF?
Yes, please, Renee❣️Please continue to do lots of videos with good ideas for low carb and intermittent fasting! It will help us all to stay motivated!!!💕
absolutely ❤️
Yes congratulations 🎉 and I would love to see more videos

The eating window is super flexible....agree!
You Go Girl!
Yes! Gin’s books are great! Read Fast, Feast Repeat!! It’s awesome!! Lots of good fasting advice.
That's great advice. Your body can get used to the status quo, so shaking things up every once in a while will help with stalling.
I love No carb and intermittent fasting it’s the only diet that will work for me. I’m glad you like it. 🙂❤️💐
I just saw your video and I LOVE you for sharing your wonderful life style. Thank you so much! Please give us food ideas. LOVE your energy! 💜💫💜
Thank you so much, Renee. I have actually lost 80#s eating low carb for Diabetes II. I feel wonderful! HOWEVER, you have re-motivated me. Keep up the good work😊

i like the 12 to 8 window just in case you running late by 6 just always remember you have to stay up at least 2 hours before bedtime , thank for the advice
I’m new to Keto. Please share the tortilla and bread recommendations. Thanks!
GURLLL ! Yes, I do want as much as you can give me on this diet ! Congratulations ! 🎊🎉🎈 Thank you for this information. I will start to implement.
It’s crazy to see how many carbs are in my favorite fruits. That’s why I am now only eating berries….raspberries and blackberries
Love those Mission Carb Balance Tortillas! Thanks for the tip! I brushed a few lightly with olive oil on both sides, salted, stacked up, cut in 6ths, spread on cookie sheet and baked on 350 for about 12 minutes. Voila! Tortilla chips!
Please do more videos on your lifestyle changes. I definitely want to try this. This belly situation has to go! Congratulations, you look fantastic!!
My belly.....oooo my belly! It is significantly smaller just after 30 days. No more bloating and yuck feeling!
That's so encouraging,Renee! Thank you!
For the chocolate lovers try dark chocolate KETO CLUSTERS 4 g net carbs 3 g sugar per serving
With quinoa, pumpkin and sunflower seeds, pecans, & almonds SO DELICIOUS
I thank you for the suggestions. I’m 51 as well got that belly fat. I started a low carb diet last month I’ve lost 22 lbs. I have a lot more to go … I love my yogurt and berries.
WOW 22 lbs!!!!! Impressive!
@@WelcomeToMyCurls Thank you! It’s a lot of work…
I eat mostly just beef and salad.
@@pheenobarbidoll2016 That is really impressive. Thank you for sharing.

My sentiments exactly.
Thanks ✨️ As a digital nomad & part-time vanlifer in an RV 🚃 I love doing IF when i'm on my solo road trips . Gratitude & thanks for sharing !!
Love listening to Dr. Eric Berg!! Lot's of good information.
Also, going low carb brought my A1c blood sugar down from 9.3 to 6.5 in 9 months. Also do intermittent fasting 16/8. I'm 63 and I feel great.
Can’t wait to see more 😊
Congratulations 🎉
We first warm up individual Carb Balance tortillas in the Air Fryer (3 min on one side) for thin & crispy oven baked 20 min @ 400 degrees individual pizza.
So glad to find your channel! You are REAL people like me…yea! Thanks for the tips!😊
I’m 70 next month. I have been on a similar diet since May and have lost 20lbs. I feel better. I make a lot of soups for lunch.
If you cut the lavash bread into triangles and season them with garlic powder, or ranch or whatever flavor you like...bake them... they're delicious to use for dips
Renee I have lost over 2 years 150 pounds doing Intermittion fasting and 64 ozs and doing great!! Keep going❤
That's awesome!!!!
Spaghetti squash is a good low net carb substitute for spaghetti. If you roast it, it’s so yummy! And this is the time of year to give it a try!
Girl. Ive done pork rinds for many yrs. Ive been low carb for 15 plus yrs Congrats on coming over to Intermittent fasting. It is the BOMB 😀🤓💜
Thank you so much my sister. Your video really really inspired me. Thanks a ton. God bless you 🙏❤🙌
Yes, yes, yes! Share all the things! Congrats on your new lifestyle!
I would love if you continued sharing your new low carb food finds and recipes! Congratulations on your weight loss!
More please!
I’m glad to see this. I’ve seen so many “lifestyle” changes and this makes sense
Shout out to Dr. Ken Berry's channel and his wife, Neisha. She has gobs of recipes on her channel Neisha Loves It.
Yes please!! I am so glad to go on this journey with you. How’s the sale of the ice cream shop going. Any takers yet?
Just started my life carb journey after high A1C results. Already doing IF. Thanks for the motivation!
Ur skin is gorgeous!!! Thank you for this video you’ve motivated me to also try this for 30 days and hopefully on from there. Xoxox
Greetings Renee! Thanks for sharing your secrets with us. Yes, more videos like this, please! I'm having a hard time with my diet because I'm vegan and allergic to many grains. Somehow I know there's a way! You are such an inspiration to me. Love and blessings ♥️🙏
Yes, please!!! I am going thru menopause and my weight gain is killing me! I love this!
3 low carb dinners-video coming out tomorrow! 😊
Which video do you recomend to get started in fasting? How did you know to stay below a certain number of net carbs?
I am 68 and I started IF about 4 years ago doing 16/8 and then sometimes 17/7 and 24 hour fast on Mondays or one meal a day. I vary it because that could be the rut you are in weight loss wise. But living in Canada we cannot get away from the winter carb crave that happens like clock work so I don't sweat carbs and every spring I have 10 pounds I loose in a month by 24 hour fasts weekly. It is easy and I like the different recipe ideas like pork rinds crushed for coatings and more. You are on a new food adventure.......keep sharing♥
