    Great idea to use the landscaping edging roll and PVC pipe to create the arches!! Fantastic

    I came across your channel on a whim, and let me tell you something: your ideas are genius! I would have never thought about using lawn edging for arches! The holes are evenly spaced out (which saves time and hassle), its flexible enough, and i'm sure other things I can't think of off the top of my head. Incredible!
    The other is the fence cleat...once again, something I would have never thought of! You can remove it during the off-season and not have to worry about using screws. Right now I'm simply using multicolored LED strings wrapped around PVC for my arches, and its doing the job, but I will definitely use your ideas when I change over my display. Kudos! Very nice. God Bless. :-)

    I like your storage idea! Best I have seen yet!!! Neat and doesn't take up any yard-space...Cool!

      +Mark Farparan Thank you, all the front panels are simple french cleats so the whole shell can be removed exposing nothing but stand alone frame, and and you can blow it out in case a critter wanted to make a home.

    Nice job, I like your idea on using the lawn edging to hold the pixels. I have been pondering on what I was going to use.This is going to help me this year with planning my WS2811 bullet style pixels display.

    Great idea for the pallet for your inflatable's. Thanks that will help me out a get idea for my Christmas and Halloween inflatable's. Now if only I can get the dumb Halloween ghosts/pumpkin to stay up. The two ghost in the middle will not stay up.

    Questions: 1) What gauge wiring you use to power all the LEDs? 14 AWG? Did you have all the electronics connected to one breaker line or multiple? The breaker (or breakers) used, what is the rating? 15A or 20A? Any idea how much wattage all the systems were drawing?

    • @nodent
      @nodent  5 років тому

      The yard AC electrical is 12AWG on a 20 amp breaker for most of the display. The other 10% is on another 20amp breaker. I have not measured the draw. I run my show at about 30% brightness and the inflatables run fine. My bill may go up about $25 of the norm for each month during the season.

    Did you run your power cable and ethernet cable in the same confuit? If so, any issues?

    • @nodent
      @nodent  2 роки тому

      Yes, no issues at all. It's supposed to be taboo. But I think there's more of a possible EMF interference for businesses that usually have 277 volts.

      Thank you for the compliment. I use Vixen3 to create the show then export it to run the sequence on a Raspberry Pi

    This was a fantastic tutorial and just what we needed. Thanks! Question, what is that piece you are using on the inside of the conduit to connect it? The 1/2” pvc coupling (that goes on the outside of the pipes) is too “fat” to fit through the lawn edging.

    • @nodent
      @nodent  7 років тому

      Jacqueline Moore the inner coupling is CPVC that couples the 2 schedule 40 1/2 inch electrical conduits.
      UPDATE - both sides have rebar to keep the bottom part straight before the arch starts curving.

    Never seen Ethernet cords outside, how much was it to do that

    • @nodent
      @nodent  4 роки тому

      Well... I knew a guy that gave me the cable, but it's worth the money. I already used all my runs and added a hub outside for the Mega Tree.
      I would do it again and pay for it if I had to. About $250 for a 1000ft roll.

    Awesome job! I'm new at this and have a couple questions if you wouldn't mind. Are you running PVC through the edging to give it more rigidity? Also what type of sequencing software are you using? Thanks

    • @nodent
      @nodent  10 років тому

      Thank you.
      Yes, even with the schedule 40 PVC it's still would not stand on it's own. Plus like I mentioned in the video, I did not want to use EMT although that would work great., because I wanted it to store flat and straight.

      +Nodent great info on the your website
      Sorry, but one question, on your video @ 0:30 it says 100 Pixel nodes (5V 2811ws), the link that you gave me is for 2801ws. Also you put 2 of the strings per Arch, not a 100 Pixel string?

    • @nodent
      @nodent  9 років тому

      I don't think they were sold in 100 count so I connected 2 together, Caution - Displaying white at 100% brightness draws a lot of current, So I planned my sequence not to do that often. Also that website is in Australia, GREAT group in live chat, very helpful.

    How do you make the controller using a computer power supply

    • @nodent
      @nodent  7 років тому

      As a new person in this hobby I thought using a PC power supply was a good idea. It turned out to be more hassle then it was worth. There are many resources and videos to convert one but, the voltage and amp fluctuation the power supply encountered during the show would cause internal safety switches to kill the power all together and would require an unplug to bring it back up.

    How tall is it?

    • @nodent
      @nodent  5 років тому

      I never measured, but if I had to guess, the string going across is about 7.5 to 8.5 feet the arch perhaps 10 feet. A standard size van has driven underneath.
