I went to get 2 10 foot pvc Last night and had a really hard time getting them to bend at the joints without popping them out. My driveway is 22 feet wide
Can I ask how long is the pvc that you were using on this video ? As you mentioned in this video if you use 1 inch diameter pvc it will more stable, right?
Bro I just tried to use the 1/2 inch … didn’t think the 1 inch would bend enough but our driveways look about the same width, did you use 3 pvc pipes for each arch? Thanks for the video
when connecting the 10ft pieces of pvc together did you glue them or simply just attach them? I don't want to glue them as i want to take them apart for easy storage, i'm hoping duct tape will do the trick?
Good job. I drilled a hole in the end of my pipe and ran a strong piece of wire through it then folded the ends together, then I put my drill on the wire and had my wife run the drill motor wile I guided the wire on the spinning pipe.
Sorry for all of the questions, but I have a friend who has 2-3 20 ft pieces of rebar, would that be ok to use with the 1 inch PVC instead of 5/8 inch? Also do you have to use the center pieces in between each arch and if so i'm assuming that was 1 inch as well? Is that more for the stability so it doesn't lean/fall?
@@stevemcgeorge6568 The rebar deal is morw stabilization. If u dont use it will fall down . U can try what u just ask . Is no center on on pvc longs u make the arch and ur car goes through that is what matter . The taller is ur arch it get more challenging to hold up .
Yes is 2 car drive way . I have a f450 and a Cadillac we pass through. Remember they are big car and truck . So if have something small u will just fine . How I did . Use 30 lf of 1" PVC .
Thank you for the awesome tip to put the lights on quickly!
Awesome job! You did great with your sons. You learned as you go! Thx for the don't dos.

Thank u so much this helped us out allot cause we were using 1/2in and having the same issue.
You can use half inch just place rebar inside the hole so it’s sleeves over the rebar had no issues with half inch PVC
Thank you for the info!
Welcome
Another vid I saw showed inserting the rebar into the 1/2 inch PVC. Maybe smaller diameter rebar ?
Thank you for the info
I have a double wide two car driveway... will this work?
How did you know how many sections you needed to make the arc?

I simply attach them . They do well together.
@@weuderlang1 I see you used 500 lights but approximately how long or how many feet was the strand of lights?
@@chrismill232 I cant remember well . 30 ft long arch with minimum 250 lights but i think i did 500 lights if u want to look good 800 or more

Thank u i try that last year is bad ass . Forgot to respond
what length of lights did you use per 30 ft pvc. Was it just 1 strand or multiple on 1 arch? Did the 1'' PVC handle well with wind?
1" pvc , 10 ft long , thick wall pvc , yes they do well with the wind. Now the key is the rebar make sure u have 4 ft out of the ground
Would 1/2” pvc pipe work on Sidewalks?
It should work . Good idea
What was the length of each PVC that you purchased? Did you buy them in 10 foot sticks? Also, what thickness was the PVC? Thanks man!
1" PVC , thick wall PVC, 10 ft long .
which type of 1 inch pvc pipe did you use? ty in advance
Thick wall pipe.
How many strands of lights per arch did you use?
500 lights . the best look 800 lights

No sir .
Did you use schedule 40 or the thin stuff?
40 yes it will b ok with the wind . I leave in Florida close to the water . I dont have problems
@@weuderlang1 sweet thank you, will be my first year doing them and this video is much more helpful than all others I've found
Im glad to help 😊👍💪💪
Last question I hope lol how wide is your driveway. Wondering if I need to go longer to make it fit
what size rebar did you use? 5/8?
Yes , 5/8 rebar . 4-5 ft tall
Is the arch one continuous 30ft piece ???
Yes
U get 3 pcs of the 10 ft and make a 30 ft long
Can you tell me what length your PVC was to span the driveway? I'm assuming the driveway is the width of a 2 car garage. Thank you!

Would 3/4 work fine?
No stay with 1" it will b better. U can try
We used 1/2in and put 4ft rebar inside the pipe 12inches in the ground and 3ft within pipe no issues
What count of lights u used?
U can use any light . Now these is heavy duty light . From home depot .
