I just began crocheting two weeks ago. I’ve made 3 of these so far! First one was definitely rough. I’ve found working with very chunky yarn is easy for a beginner like me. I’ve been using the Yarn Bee chunky knit velvet for the last two rugs - they are perfect! Thank you for posting this! Also, to fellow beginners: chunky yarn and a good 15mm crochet hook will definitely be your friend. The first one I did was with less chunky yarn, and I used a 9mm hook. Wasn’t flat and the stitches were way too tight.
Thank you for walking through this slow and explaining enough that a total beginner like me can easily follow. Most of the other "beginner" videos people make are way too fast with their movements. It's very hard for me to follow their videos.
A note if you like the pattern or stitch. In the settings, you can set a slower pace for the video playback. I have used this many times to learn new stitches.
thank you for sharing. You go at just the right speed for a beginner and explain very well. Im looking to make a teddy bear and all the videos im finding are very hard to follow.
I am a new Nanna-shmoo and a baby mat is requested from me. I have not crocheted since a child but willing to try. I am using a larger hook with Bernat®Blanket Big™ Yarn and think your pattern and instructions will be excellent for a great mat. Thank you for sharing.
This is such a great tutorial, and easy to follow! Also an awesome way to use yarn scraps, just made a blanket with all my leftover yarn. It’s definitely not as neat as yours, but luckily I love authenticity when it comes to crafts, aha Great video🌺
Hi this is great, but i have some question. I dont know why my circle is kinda curvy and not flat. I have been redo it like 10 times and it ended up the same. One time it was flat but it got some curve like going up like a tube(?)
I am following the directions but need some clarification. When I finished round 3 and 4 does any of you get to where the stitch marker actually is - I hope this makes sense
I decided I wanted a natural rug for the living room so I am using a thick sisal rope for my yarn. I’m not fond of using it, so hard on fingers and hand. We’ll see how it turns out. I’d like to know how many rows you all did for your rugs?
So odd. I had tried this before with same size yarn + hook and no curling. Second try it’s turning in a bowl from the curling. Loosened tension and still curls. Counted my stitches and I didn’t drop or skip any. 😢 going to size up the hook and redo this whole thing. Maybe this will help.
@@irenecooper4776just keep increasing until the size is right for you, so for example round 3 : increase, sc, sc, increase Row 4 : increase sc sc sc increase Just keep adding more single crochets each round. Then when ur done just do a slip stitch and fasten off
Tried to follow and right off the bat you lost me at the first knot! You go way too fast and don't show what you're doing.I cant even get started.I've got to go to another slower, clearer video

Really beautifully demonstrated, thank you. Total beginner, so easy to follow.
Thank You so much 🥰

First video I watched that showered me how to crochet a circle! Thank you so much! ❤
Thank you so much , without you I wouldn’t of been able to make a rug.
God bless you:)❤

Great video🌺
It is curling what do you suggest doing a larger needle or tighter tention?
Hey love this tutorial it is easy to follow, could you tell an alternative yarn for this?
I love this!
Thank you so much 🥰
Bonjour , ce tapis est magnifique et j’aimerais le faire en 180 cm , combien de boules j’aurais besoin ?merci d’avance pour votre réponse
I’ve made mine using a smaller hook and thick yarn,it’s beside my bed now
Can you use a medium worsted weight yarn?

If your stitches are too tight it might cause the curve in your work
Love it!❤
How much yarn did you use
Is this mat slippery?
I am following the directions but need some clarification. When I finished round 3 and 4 does any of you get to where the stitch marker actually is - I hope this makes sense
Was wondering where could I get this chunky yarn😊
How many yarns did you use to make this rug?
i just want to know how many grams of thick yarn for a 60cm x 60cm rug?
So say if your on road 10 you would add 10 single and then one double right
Thank U 🙏
I got a hexagon i did the same??!!😂😂it's nice i'll keep it
This happens sometimes! I usualy find if you do the very last row all single crochet with no added stitches it tends to round it off a bit.
Where can we buy this thread

What is the size of the rug when completed?
Says in the video details at the top 32 inches x 32 inches.
Will you end with just single crochet in each stitch?
Hi. May I know how many grams of yarn in total? Thanks
How do you keep them flat?😭😭😭
How many stitches do you add to make it bigger
I I would like to make my rug humongous so how many stitches would you add divide
Hi Irene.
Since you're working in a spiral, you just continue crocheting for as long as you want.
Okay thank you
I was just wondering do you keep doing the same pattern over and over from start to end

Very confusing mine was not flat
Maybe a bigger hook?
You have to make sure you are grabbing both loops and not just the front or back loop or else it’s going to start getting curve.
You must crochet loose. Not so tight.😊
Name of yarn??
From where we can purchase this yarn????
From Hobbii.com
I'm watching on how to make the round rug but mine looks like a top of a took
You should try saying that how big it will turn out to be
Hi Irene.
It's written in the video description, but Ø80cm ( Ø32in ) 😊
Nevermind, I see it now…
Back to my original post…
A round blanket for the floor….. so a rug? Lmao no hate i just thought it was a lil funny 😂❤
😅 Sorry, my English is not my preferred language 😅
In Denmark it is called a "Gulvtæppe", so try that... 😉

Play it at .5x
Look up “crochet magic circle.” It’s just that. The same exact pattern for making amigarumi (crochet plushies)
Once I realized that I was like oh now I get it, but why can’t I just do that then
