I’m going to attend my first meeting tonight, I’m terrified to give up this chapter of my life.

I wish you the best my friend. I too was terrified. If you pursue the 12 steps, step 4 directly deals with the fears we have in life.

We used to get a spiritual experience. But it was artificial, a toxic shortcut. So recovery will be how to bring about that peak experience without the use of drugs, solid or liquid as alcohol is just another drug. Step 12 tells me I will have had a spiritual experience as a result of using the 12 steps. Surprisingly, this new spiritual way of life is a natural high, without toxins without side effects and it's contagious in a good way. "Living and enjoying life without the use of drugs."

That's the spiritual malady of alcoholism. Work the 12 steps to reconstruct your ego so you can have a spiritual awakening and be free.

@@thesoberempire Been working like a crazy, but the intense fear of future(and possible relapse) haunts me. Four meetings per week but it still feels like i can't reach the core of my anxiety and these days just seem to be me trying to survive till i go to bed.

Those videos were not congruent with the theme of this channel. This channel is more documentary/video essay style with clips and music for dramatic effect. Perhaps I'll create a seperate channel with the talking videos.

Maybe so. Yeah, it's a fact that quitting booze not only makes your world a better place to be in, any good program or resource like Steffon Barkload's Quit Drinking Forever, that’s the best shortcut I go’ogled that took less than 2 weeks to work.
