Another sponsor I had told me to take off my sunglasses when I walked in the aa meeting. Another one told me not to use the bath room during the meeting as it looks bad me getting up. They didn’t last long 😂

My first sponsor dropped me in 2 days. I had to call him between 7am to 7:05am. No sooner or later. I was in a hotel room with two escorts and all of us on cocaine. Come 7am I said to them I’m making the call. Please stay completely quiet. Obviously they couldn’t and started talking really loud. Sponsor asked who are they. Was quite funny though

I think the 5% is a ridiculous number. I don’t believe it for a second maybe 50%.

it kind of annoys me that the first thing that popped up on youtube under aa sponsorship is someone berating sponsors. Its as simple as this. The sponsor carries the message not the alcoholic. You go through all 12 steps, stay sober, hopefully find a higher power and carry on the message yourself.

I’ve been in AA for almost 5 years and though I agree with everything you’re saying about the solution, I personally have not experienced any of the problems you’ve outlined. I’m sure that they exists in some groups in some places, and that is unfortunate, but the autonomy of every group and the diverse culture of all the different areas prevents anyone from honestly criticizing AA as a whole with some general or universal bone to pick. That could be specifically applicable in every instance . There’s just simply too much variety of meetings and individuals.

I have been sober for 9 years in AA, hit PTSD and now I'm Cali Sober, I'm still abstinent from alcohol and drugs, just added THC as HARM REDUCTION, - I FOUND a cannabis recovery support group and I've never been better. My life is better than it's ever been. I'm truly grateful for the process and where it leads me. great video I agree with everything you said, another thing is that the support being provided is conditional, there's a lot of boasting on working the steps and dependence on sponsors and so forth. Also, while we are here, I feel that it should be a safer place for anyone to feel like someone will come on to them, is not a good practice of the program. I have seen many newcomers struggle because of their behaviors and they get involved with an old-timer never to look back again, things go wrong and you never see the newcomer again. Very sad but it does happen. thank you for posting I will continue to watch thank you.

It’s fascinating there are so many videos on this kind of stuff where the presenter just completely ignores A.A. traditions and ignores the steps and presents their opinions as facts. This guy repeatedly states his opinions as facts. It’s NOT A.A. His opinions are not A.A. facts. This isn’t A.A. it’s just him… Use it for whatever you want, but no one person is A.A. or is an expert on AA. He says “we’re supposed to.” Over and over. No, there’s no such thing. He also repeatedly says fear stands for F E A R. And then gives a list. And then ludicrously dismisses ALL fears as “not real.” This is why AA doesn’t do this. It’s his opinion. Nothing more. Good luck. The suggestion is: go to a meeting. I disagree with tons of this guy’s opinions. I’m just a member of AA, and I’m anonymous. Period. I go to meetings. That’s what I do.

I feel it's kind of unfair that Bill Wilson stopped drinking alcohol after psychodelic experience and he was inspired to create 12 steps which are different idea from experience he had himself.

Necessary to trust in the living Almighty God - not "just anything - even a doorknob" to be your 'higher power". Contemporary meetings often are populated with people who are NOT convinced that sobriety is a matter of life or death. Never affiliate with individuals who brag about their "slips"...or who use the meetings for socializing... By the Grace of God, I made 270 meetings in 90 days (3 per day)...successfully getting sober in New Orleans because: meeting makers I encountered there KNEW that to pick up a drink is dangerous as pointing a loaded gun to the brain!

Please stay away from A.A For so long, i have been deceived that this program comes from God when i used to hear God - i used to think that God was just any higher power based on my conception that was entangled with the 12 steps But which God? Is it allah? is it a pagan god? is it the catholic jesus or the true Jesus from scripture? it it just God the Father? again which god? it is a God who saves us by grace or works? do we need to earn our right standing with God or is it a free gift through Jesus Christ? I ask these questions because AA is a pagan man-made religion (do a bunch of works to earn a reward), choose whichever god fits your conception to make you comfortable so your not offended and its all about staying sober (and I'm not diminishing the urgency to be sober) How about eternal life? heaven or hell? forgiveness of sins? divine grace? repentance? the gravity that sin causes between us and God? AA has no mention on this - it is diametrically opposed to the Bible Its just a program that says faith + works, choose your conception and its up to you - this is what every religion teaches (works earn your right standing before God) Lets see what the bible says about these matters 1. There is only one God - it isn't based on our conception of Him John 17:3 3 And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. 2. We are all under sin & the wages of sin is death Romans 6:23 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gracious gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. 3.
