If anyone is reading this… if you’ve failed many times, just start over again. Keep trying. Keep failing. Then try again. You won’t stop the first time. And if you feel hopeless, trust me you can do it. I’ve been in your shoes and I’ve felt hopeless. But just keep trying. There are more ppl like you than you think. Being sober is more of a high than you could ever get from drinking or drugs. Best of luck to you

I believe that AA harms more than it helps. Addiction Treatment and Recovery is an Industry dominated by 12 step groupers, indeed, they have a stranglehold on it. They do not, and WILL not compete with other programs. There is no therapy in AA, just faith healing and an incoherent "program" written by a wet brain, Bill Wilson. It's HIGH TIME we stop sending people to these rehabs where they read the Big Book and the 12 and 12. 95% of people sent to a 12 step program quit within 90 days to 6 months. 97% by 1-2 years. They are offered no alternatives and they inevitably return after drinking again BECAUSE of the shit they were indoctrinated with. JUST STOP THIS RACKET. ENOUGH. STOP FUCKING WITH PEOPLE LOOKING FOR HELP ua-cam.com/video/AUjOV9x6h0A/v-deo.html

I feel you missed the issue is not dependency upon humans or Fellowship but dependency upon slogan ISM and attempting to achieve sobriety through willpower alone. the attempt to achieve sobriety through only the big book and not through achieving some sort of understanding as to what particularly drives an individual and finding those things within society that might help one to find a individual solution to the cravings.

The program is wonderful, the Big Book, etx. The fellowship has to many clubs, which tend to go rogue, not to a great extent but enough to drive people out. Also religious doctrine creeps in which is absolutely not what AA is about. Find your own higher power. Politics sadly have seeped in with a divide in some members.

My lasted 9th step work started with the 8th step.its important for not to wait till I am well or even off meds to start prudent action.i had a harms done 14 years ago.i participated in a deadly lifestyle that took the life of someone's son.after time on the a.a. and alanon beam.good information and how to write amends letter gathered momentumn.2 months ago I sent that letter with no attachment to a forgiveness outcome.i got a reply letter..the mother "Jean" says she is "o.k. ,it's, o.k. ,and we are o.k." I'm not in an open hearted adventure for this human experience. I have bitterness that I would be allowed the level of harm done on my 8th step list.however GOd/love/creator/consciousness knew our shortcomings and probabilities and made an entire course correction formula to follow thru with..thank u God for oozing the puss of wounds out our wrecked hearts..
