These games meant SOO MUCH to my friends and me. It influenced our lives in such an enormous way and all this is already 20 freaking years ago! We didn't just get introduced to skateboarding and picked up the boards ourselves and had great fun, not only at home playing the game but going out and socialize through a common thing we were all in to. Friends of mine started a skate shop because of it and it has become an iconic place to go and some what part of the identity of my home town. We also got introduced to a sh*t lot of awesome bands which were not main stream and of which we never heard about before. Rage Against The Machine, Fu Manchu and all these other great bands that were featured on the soundtrack. We got into rock and hip hop and even started bands because of it. It influenced our appearance because we wanted to dress like our favorite game "character". All this stuff wasn't as accessible as it is today - you couldn't just order a board from Amazon and have it delivered home to you or look up tons of bands on Spotify or UA-cam. All of this you really needed to specifically look for, and these games opened up a whole new world and a lifestyle for us and really had an impact on youth culture back then which I am very grateful of! It is really not an exaggeration to say that this game series was a very important part in our lives!
I was 7 years old when I first played Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3. Got myself a skateboard. Learned absolutely no tricks as I sucked at it and we as kids rather played soccer. Meanwhile I stopped playing the games. But now with this remaster (16 years later for me). It feels like coming home. What a masterpiece.
I had all the games for my modded Playstation when I was a kid with no money and as a 35 year old adult it was my pleasure to go and buy the remake for Playstation 4 and live it again. I had so many moments of dejavu as I somehow recalled where the hidden tapes were and old combos came back to me. The series is an absolutely legendary feature in my teenage memories and an awesome job was done bringing it back in 2020 when we needed something awesome more than ever.
So happy my daughters r playing it right now n they love it the same way me n my cousin loved it back in the day and i can tell they already wanting a skateboard 👍
THPS1 and 2, man thats all my teenage years, playing non stop and then meeting my friend at the skatepark. I am 40 now, I dont skate or play video games anymore, but this makes me want to come back to it...
i begin too love skateboarding because of Mullen.....i start skating 1990 because of Mullen......i played skateboard games because of Mullen.....i always picked Mullen as charakter in games because he is what he is.......i still watch skateboard videos and nobody till today comes even close because of MULLEN!!!!!

Just turned 30, the last time I attempted skating, it must have been when I was 13? ... I reckon our generation's mid-life crisis will be jumping back on the board 😆
I remember livin through this. Skating was MASSIVE. So good to be able to have lived outside all day skating before the internet really kicked in and turned the younger gen from kids who would be outside enjoying life to selfie obsessed narcissistic screen addicts with horrible self esteem issues. Social media is aids
Ngl, I love watching people skate and I appreciate the art on the boards. Plus the courage it takes to do those tricks even with the risk of injuring yourself. I seriously respect the fuck out of these people. I can't imagine myself doing this insane shit, but I really respect and love these people for the stuff they do. It's truly an art form.
I played the original back in the day with my brothers and friends like crazy. Very long days and nights. My Parents hated it because we never left the house anymore. I stumbled across the Remastered Version just the other day and i love it. Its just so beautiful to look at. Awesome soundtrack which just takes u back and so much fun to play just like back in the day 🤘👍✊🤙
Ahh mann, I'm 30 now and skated from the age of 12 - 21, did 2 acls on both knees so skating is just painful for me now so i dont do it anymore but i still watch skate parts all the time and grew up playing all THPS games and thats what made me want to learn it in real life in the first place, me and my skate friends would always watch skate vids and play THPS before and after skating, i remember playing 2 player mode and doing the most ridiculous combos and trying to beat each others scores, good times.. I've got the Remaster now and mann its soo fun and brings back so much nostalgia, I'm wishing they do 3/4 too!
I just got done finishing the main levels of THPS1+2. I definitely needed this game while in quarantine. It took me back in time and I was suprised at how many challenges I couldn't remember. There was so many times I was like Ah man where is that last E for SKATE! Haha. And the skaters are 100% right 8n this video. This game was in everyones living room or you played it at your friends house all the time. This Game got Me and at least 15 other kids at school into skateboarding and we got so tired of there being no where to skate that we created a Fill the Skate foundation with one of the parents overseeing the project and bringinga few of us to every town hall meeting, and we spent many weekends collecting money from cars at the main intersection in town until we raised enough money that would be matched and we finaly got a Skate Park built in our small hometown Park in Tecumseh Oklahoma. I really hope this game spawns a THPS 3 &4 remake to hopefully get to an Underground 1 & 2 remake that reallyneeds to happen. I know they will all do very well because they already did well in the past. And this remake definitely left me hungry for more of the Underground style double tap tricks and the extensive flat ground tricks. I still have so much more secret stuff to unlock in THPS 1+2 that hopefully by the time I get 100% the 3+4 remake is on its way! But yeah. Get ready for a new wave of Skaters. I think this came out at the perfect time!

Not at all its a sport that is full of white ppl so to see a black man doing something that I thought was cool but not for my ppl was a doorway for other black kids same with basketball, a sport dominated by blacks but to see guys like luka and and Steve nash opens a door for those who only seen it as a black sport
I love all of these guys. So much of my childhood was shaped because of these games.
When Rodney speaks, you just want to listen! I swear, i remember growing up watching a bunch of 411 video tapes cause of my older brother... those were the times!
Raw and punk, just like I remember from my childhood. Thank you guys for fueling my inspiration and creativity
can’t beleive they didn’t interview the alien
God i fuckin love this remake. Every time i watch a new video on it, it makes me want to turn around and play for hours on end. great remake
Would be awesome if this inspired Vans to bring back the OG Rowley XLTs.
I’ve never owned the XLTs but I did check it out at a shop and holy fuck it weighed like 3 loose leaf papers lol
Bro I forgot about those. It had him doing a big ass gap on the shoebox I had some of those bad boys
I loved those shoes!
@@c1dtl39 whats a loose leaf paper?
Was playing the playstation 2 version and saw the remake. Bought it and love all the improvement made to it. Really nice graphics and controls! Thank you!
Where’s Bucky!? He was always my favorite
So cool that all the old skaters came back and they added newer ones. Lizzie Armanto and Leo Baker are my favorites!
Picking up this game after so long was like stepping in a time machine.
The OGs haven't aged a bit! Great to see them back and in great spirits!
Rodney Mullen is like a Wizard, is the Master Yoda of Skateboard, damn what a legend, they all are!
The whole Tony hawks catalog needs remastering! So many great locations that need re playing!!
Shoutouts to Chad for going with the backpack in the interview lmao
THPS1 and 2, man thats all my teenage years, playing non stop and then meeting my friend at the skatepark. I am 40 now, I dont skate or play video games anymore, but this makes me want to come back to it...
Anyone noticed that they're wearing the same clothes as the ingame versions of themselves?
@Mana Shield That's neat
i begin too love skateboarding because of Mullen.....i start skating 1990 because of Mullen......i played skateboard games because of Mullen.....i always picked Mullen as charakter in games because he is what he is.......i still watch skateboard videos and nobody till today comes even close because of MULLEN!!!!!
I bet the guys behind Tony Hawks 5 are like:
"Damn, why didn't we think of this"
Nostalgia baby, Nostalgia
They don't exist anymore LOL.
they're staring from a distance, thinking about the things they could've done, all of the could've beens
It the same developer?
@@Ryanlexz robomodo made thps5, vicariuous visions made thps1+2
@@uwnbaw oh I see! Thanks for telling me
I grew with the originals and learned about skate culture, skaters and really cool music... Now I can learn about these new pro skaters added to the game killing it while I enjoy the memories with the old ones... wow... this remake its just amazing!
Chad Muska and Jamie Thomas are the reason why I skate still and I’m 33 now
this video a tear jerker seeing your childhood be brought to life and seeing the people who made it happen years later
Wonder why Riley didn't get an interview ?
I guess they only intervieuw the most famous skaters
I agree. That's his son.
@@ThatAwesomeUsername SOTY nominee and star of severals skatevideos including last part in The Flare? People know him, he is definitely more famous than some others here.
Not in the original
@@Fudge_Fantasy neither was lizzie, leo, etc.
Rune Glifberg, my man. I really love playing as him. That iconic skate on hand trick. So badass.
I'm 29 and I played the originals as a kid but playing this remake/remaster is making me want to learn how to skate so bad. Pretty sure I'm too old and fat to start learning now though 😅
im 28 and i just started a month ago :)
do it! wear a helmet tho :)
Do it. I'm 29 too. I skated when I was a teenager but did a long 10 years brake.. Now I'm back. Skateboarding is just freedom
Just turned 30, the last time I attempted skating, it must have been when I was 13? ...
I reckon our generation's mid-life crisis will be jumping back on the board 😆
@@ealing456 haha yes xD
This game inspires me to start and continue to skate at 43. Its an amazing game i play it every day! I love it!
I had to scroll waaaay too long to find a fellow 40 something. Lol.
Could you imagine on another earth the kids are playing ; Rodney Mullen street skater HD remaster right now!
Ha
Bought this on day 1 release now just need a THRASHER remake on PS5
So cool to see all these guys back, Literally learned who they were from these games!
I hope the game brings Kareem back to the streets! The scene has missed him.
kareem is the best
I played the original back in the day with my brothers and friends like crazy. Very long days and nights. My Parents hated it because we never left the house anymore. I stumbled across the Remastered Version just the other day and i love it. Its just so beautiful to look at. Awesome soundtrack which just takes u back and so much fun to play just like back in the day 🤘👍✊🤙
I’m kind of upset they didn’t get an interview with Tyshawn :/
He started skating from playing EA Skate so maybe the interview didn't work out so well lol
Brian Fitz That makes you realize how young he is
@@fastcarsvlog lol that would probably be hilarious
THPS 1+2 introduced me to Lizzie Armanto. Watching her skate led me to pick up my first board since the old Nash board I used in the 90s.
I wanna see a tony hawk underground remake next
3+4 first.
Rodney Mullen!!! Could listen to him talk forever. Lol
I hope this means we also get a new Kelly Slater's Pro Surfer.
And Mat Hoffman’s Pro BMX ...
I love this I started skating because of this game and now 4 months later I learned ollies and I’m loving skating
OK, is no one gonna talk about how breathtakingly pretty Aori Nishimura is!?!
Been skating 15 years strong since thp2, thug Was my favourite though, I'm buying this game right now, big respect to Tony Hawk, all the other skaters and the game developers. Thanks for making my life awesome af!!
