I love this game but let's be real, this game's marketing was a complete lie. They didn't mo-cap in-game tricks. They only mo-capped a couple of tricks you could view under "pro tricks" from the main menu.
You definitely should! This is by far the best Tony Hawk game in my opinion. Definitely the best PS2 one I've ever played. I just bought the PS3 version online so I can try that one haha
@@raskosworld I thought the customization options were good. Much better than Proving Ground and Pro Skater 1+2. I like that they gave you different bodies/personalities to choose from, all with their own unique items.
a little word or advice. next time you rip content from a DVD, make sure to deinterlace it with a program like Handbrake. you can use Bob deinterlacing and output it to 60 FPS, so all the frames are preserved.
@@ikamusejohnson Ug, ug2 and aw are basically same games with different maps and little technical differences, like aw having parkour mechanics which made little to no difference to the gameplay, aw having bmx which again made no difference and then the bertslide which allowed you to save manual balance, which i think was great and the non-special front/backflips and barrel rolls, which i liked too.
Haha dude time is a trippy thing. Look at little Nyjah! 😂
I was sad when he cut off his dreads
This one is massively underrated. It paved the way for the skate franchise I think even. Because it was first and had some joy stick actions

I remember this blowing my mind as a kid!! At this time this what was possible in video games especially with Skateboarding

I haven't watched this in probably 15 years.. I used to always watch bam doing the kickflip off the side of the mini ramp over and over.
legends in one video
Tony Hawk's Project 8 was a very good skateboarding game much better than > Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5
because Neversoft made it not Robomodo....last game they made of the series was Proving Ground
They are both pretty trash
@@MrLaserPony I personally liked thps HD when it came out
Nyjah contributed with the motion capture in Project 8? Holy shit
Love how P Rod's shoes matched his suit lol
I still need to give this game a play.
You should! Its amazing!

@ 00:08.. I like that ADICTS board!!
First game I got with the 360. Was pretty mind blowing at the time
And those motion capture balls are now little dots... It just gets better and better.
What ruined this game was it being 30fps as opposed to 60fps from previous titles. And, even so, it had awful fps drops on all platforms.
I think the 360 version *can* run smoother
Yea and also the lack of customization
The PS3 port's frame rate was bad, the 360 port works fine.

Imagine how far we’ve come aith skate games considering Session and Skater XL respectively
Anybody got the music track names? The music sounds like it was trendy 10 years before the game came out, but I like it. I'm a 90's boy.
Underrated game
Awesome stuff.
how many beers in was Dustin Dollin when he was doing this
Espectacular

what is the music
mate
We need american wasteland 2!! ❤️
Can't believe nyja was that youmg back then
I see bam I click
Nada mal para estar viejo
Круто, я и не знал что они в реальной жизни такое вытворяют
I totally forgot Bam was in P8 !
Ya Mon!
If we wanna keep it a buck none of the mocap was featured in project 8 lol
We need America waste land remastered.
That and THUG2 are the worst Tony Hawk PS2 games
The 900 in this game is patetic because instead of using classic hawk 900 they just took a 540 spin from hawk and added more turns
So was the idea of motion capture. Every skater had the same exact drunken gorilla posture. This was all bs. Lol
This game was hot ass
Technology got advanced yet the games went down hill after 3. Think about that.
True, making the game more advanced doesn't necessarily nake the game better.
nah imo it went downhill after underground 2
@@ikamusejohnson American Wasteland was good, i think it went downhill after that. Glad the THPS1+2 revived it
@@arioprayoga1090 i agree with that but i kinda feel like it started with ug2 for some reason

wtf 5:03
Lol
I like how they didn't put the black dudes name 😐
That's your biggest takeaway? 🤔
Lol that's what I said
I thought the same. I know all you guys know but for anyone else wondering it's Stevie Williams.
I remember getting this midnight release at GameStop and ended up bringing it back in the next week this game sucks
Its not that bad, compared to ride and shred and pro skater 5 this looks amazing
Skill issue.
@@theobell2002 yah I got like 100 plus hours on thug back in the day
