@@Neobright1 Same. I was 8 as well. We saw this because Batman was sold out but got into Batman after. Hell of a double whammy for an 8 year old. That's the day I became a movie nerd. Quite literally..
This movie has so many funny scenes.. Love the part where the plane crashes through the tunnel and its just skidding next to the car with the Jones. The pilot just looks at them as he's passing just cracks me up.
"They were trying to kill us" "I know dad!!!" "Well, it's a new experience for me" "Happens to me all the time". That short dialogue summed up the the film for me, absolutely brilliant.
That's awesome, dude. I wish I was there. First time I saw it was when HBO got the rights to play it on their channel, so it wasn't too far off. We were just too dirt poor to go to movies, lol.
Like all Indiana Jones Movie, this was perfection. With Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, being the best, this can be easily said as the second best, and close to its first. With Legendary Casts, Soundtracks, and storyline made the movie what its worth. Harrison Ford & Sean Connery, was such an iconic duo on this film. Compared to the last, and it's critics, this one was a clear redemption, and one where we got so much more than we deserved. We got to see the many perspectives of Indiana Jones, some old classic characters returning, and a movie that was extra long for us, with an action pact timeline. Honestly sad that they don't make movies like these anymore, and that many of the cast are gone now, and may the legend Sean Connery rest in peace. In all Honesty here, if your looking for an action pact, comedic, and with adventure movie, this is it. What a blast it was to re-watch it during Christmas!!!
Like all of his movies, I have to say that this one for me is probably my favourite and best one but we can't forget what started it all, with his first movie that made us all Indiana Jones (despite its comics where if you read them you already knew what it was was, who he is, etc), The Raiders of the Lost Ark. This is by far one of the best movies I have ever watched with my twin brother and my father especially on Christmas. Even though my dad didn't know him, as he's from another time, he still loved the movie and honestly was so obsessed as well as couldn't get over the fact that they don't make movies like these anymore and how sad it actually is since in his time most of his movies that he watched as a kid was exactly like this like 60s, 70s all the way to the 80s. Even the soundtrack itself is legendary and by far one of the best ever soundtracks ever created. It always hypes us all up, especially when there's a scene where he saves someone or has to do his work. What a legendary cast as well, even the acting as well. The story itself honestly made it feel like you were actually there present, cheering for him, and of course hoping him all the best. It was just a roller coaster of emotions where you couldn't just stop and get out of your chair to cheer him on, laugh, and etc. It sent you all over the place with how amazing the movie was. Nowadays, you simply can't find movies like these anymore being created and quite frankly I can't wait until the new Indiana Jones movie comes out even though it'll be the last ever movie for Indiana Jones. Anyways, I honestly can't stop going on and on with how amazing this movie is. Like its like endless. At this point its even more or so a rant but still. Not only that but what an iconic duo Harrison Ford & Sean Connery was in this film. Compared to the last movie which flopped really badly especially with its critics, this one is a clear redemption and one where we got so much more than we deserved. We got to see the many perspectives of Indiana Jones, some old classic characters returning, where it all started for him, where it all began, and a movie that was extra long for us, with an action pact timeline. I honestly can't believe that Sean Connery even passed away last year, alongside many others who played part in the movie gone now. Rest in peace to the legendary Sean Connery, you will truly be missed. This is by far one of the best movies I have ever watched on Christmas, despite me seeing it already, is always a blast to re-watch the movie again. 10/10 and would recommend it. No matter the holiday, or day. - December 25, 2021.
*Fun Facts about The Last Crusade* • In all the scenes that were filmed outdoors in Spain, neither Connery or Ford were wearing pants. The weather was too hot for them. • Spielberg originally wanted Connery to play the father as a serious but very kind man ( similar to how Alec Guiness had played Obi-Wan Kenobi) . But Sean had other ideas. He suggested that Indy's father should be an absent-minded fool who would often get both himself & his son into trouble. Spielberg was worried about having to change the script's dialogue to accommodate Connery's new vision for the character. But the actor told Spielberg that no rewrite was needed. And to just allow him to improvise on the fly with Ford. Spielberg agreed. And the results are now forever immortalized on film. An example of such an improvised bit of dialogue happens when Indy asks his father how did he ever find out about Elsa's true motives. Connery came up with the line: "She talks in her sleep" as his answer. • It was due to Spielberg giving Connery freedom to improvise that the actor later said that he rarely had as much fun doing a movie as he did when filming The Last Crusade. • When Spielberg was younger, he always wanted to do a James Bond movie. And when Spielberg told his friend George Lucas about his dream project, Lucas came up with the idea for Indiana Jones. Therefore, the casting of Sean Connery as Indiana Jones' father, had a much deeper meaning to the character's creators. As Spielberg said it himself: “Who else but Bond could have been worthy enough to play Indiana Jones’s dad?”
I sure am glad they kept it that way and never made any other films to sully the perfection that was the Indiana Jones trilogy and the Terminator series.
I actually think T3 was rather good. I agree though, Kingdom of the Crystal Skull doesn't really count. And apparently they're making another new one now.
You mention how this one is the most emotionally resonant, has the best comedy and action scenes, and is just all around a more solid movie and get smacked with the "rAiDeRs WaS gRiTtY"
Last Crusade is my favorite as well. I just love the father son dynamic and wish I could have had an adventure like that with my dad. That being said, Raiders felt a bit more serious and ominous. Indy was alone for most of the adventure so it feels a bit more isolating.

Interesting to see all the subtle differences from the final cut. Different take on "our situation has not improved", here Indy breaking into his dad's room is the afternoon instead of nighttime, etc
My very close second favorite Indiana Jones movie, the first being raiders. I absolutely love the tank scene in this one though, such a great great movie

I was always disappointed how they changed the voiceovers from this trailer to the actual film. The way Indy says "Nazis...I hate these guys!" and "happens to me all the time!" are much more snarly and venomous here. Also the case with Sallah with "In the belly of that steel beast". All are delivered in a much more subdued manner in the final movie.
Love Indiana Jones been on a IJ binge they're just timeless classics that'll be around and just as good 100 years from now, and more! All's I can say is thank you Mr Spielberg and Mr Lucas for all the immortal magic you've gave for all us kids young and old!! ❤😊
I’m happy they knew that this was a perfect trilogy so they never made another film. It would be a bad idea to have Harrison Ford as an old man reprise the character.
I love the fact that Sean Connery is just being Sean Connery and didn't even attempt an American accent.
“Junior!”
It's reasonable to assume he could've been an immigrant from Europe, or at least his parents could've.
If you look at the wiki page of Indiana's dad, it says he is Scottish so he didn't have to do an American accent
Speaking of accents, why did John F Kennedy sound so strange?
@@Retsler54 JFK was as American as Apple Pie, and he liked it that way.
