I haven't done any serious cooking and only use a hand-held electric beater. Is there any benefit to having a heavy duty mixer if one isn't cooking that often? Cake looks luscious!

+Les Waller Thanks for your comment. I am sure you can make this cake with a hand-held beater. I don't think you need a heavy mixer if you don't cook so much..

Ive been to Denmark as well, many times and I feel right at home there, and awsome food. Well, pupular Norwegian food would be - Pinnekjøtt, - Får i kål, - Kjøttkaker, - Elgesteik, - Komper/Raspeballer/Komler (kjært barn mange navn)...there is plenty :)

I wish I saw ur one before attempting it😁.. everything was fine, but the mereng didn't get crispy even after letting it cool off in the fridge for 2 hours.. Could u pls advice on how to get it nice and crispy.. I was left with a soggy eggy taste with the mereng... Thanks..

Thanks for your comment. I am not sure what caused the problem for you. But, you have to make sure that there is not any egg yolk in the egg white. It is also important that the utensils are completely clean, and that there is no oil. Hopefully it works for you the next time.
