As Jordan Peterson so astutely pointed out, some men have feminine traits and some women have masculine traits. But that doesn’t mean those men should be women and those women should be men. Some people need to embrace the diversity of personalities and traits within their gender, and not jump to the conclusion that they’re the wrong gender.
How is that astute? It's just Peterson obfuscating the blatantly obvious. Quit jumping to the conclusion that you have the slightest idea what you're talking about when it comes to gender dysphoria as understood by actual qualified medical experts.

"Kids go through phases" is probably one of the most difficult things for people without kids to understand in my experience.
Which is surprising, because EVERYONE has BEEN a kid. I couldn't count how many phases I've had, and still continue to have to this day. I mean, it's not rocket science.

My sister is 13 as well, but thankfully she’s well aware of all the stuff going on around her and has chosen to remain conservative in spite of all the propaganda surrounding her. She goes to a very liberal school and is forced to hide her beliefs and politics for fear of being targeted and harassed.
I'm not a MAGA guy, but I am a conservative. And there are lots of things Bill Maher says that I have issues with. That said, he is an example to people on both sides of how we can disagree with each other, but talk about it, and not get unceremoniously dumped into one camp or the other.
To say that "being gay is not hip anymore" is also unfair. I just watched an interview with a detransitioner who confessed he was afraid of coming out as gay, so he accepted the idea of being transgender because it would save him from shame. We need to understand that homophobia still exists and that might be one of the reasons we see a surge in the number of transgender candidates.

Watch the rebuttals from other channels. The mental gymnastics is amazing. They mention the mess we give kids (which has already been debated ages ago). Everyone by now knows how wary we should be of giving kids meds for ADHD or depression or anything else. But that's their strawman argument on experimenting on children.
So they recognize that both should be handled with extreme caution, but their transitions should be met.

A friend of my kids (neighbor kid) self identified as bisexual. Less than 2 years later he said he wished he never said anything because he was still a virgin, attracted to females and the thought of actually having sex with a man repulsed him.

as a teacher it genuinely scares me and makes me want to protect my kiddos at all costs because of the world we now live in. It terrifies me how this treatment of kids is welcomed and applauded. It's disgusting.
I guess I never gave it much though as a child, but teachers play a colossal role in shaping our youth. You spend more time with kids than their own parents, I can't even imagine the level of responsibility that must warrant. In the world we live in today, be that source of warmth and grace that kids need. You'll be that teacher that keeps in touch with students for years and eventually attends high school/university graduation ceremonies. What an amazing feeling it must be to be a teacher like that!

This is exactly what unrestrained comedy does. It pokes holes in societal absurdities and challenges our assumptions. Humor is obviously needed for levity, but I’d argue it’s equally important that comedy forces us to think critically.

I am a 68 year old raising my two grandDAUGHTERS! The 10 year old is an Aerial Arts performer, strong, yet feminine as hell! The 4 year old loves cars, dinosaurs, playing ball, rough housing, etc. But if you think for one damn second I will say, oh, she must want to be a boy, think again! She also wears princess dresses. For France, i can tell you that our medias and universities are already deep into it. They don't go as far as the US woke, for several reasons, but are already quite nonsensical.
Now, from what i gather, wokism hasn't been welcomed in Eastern Europe, notably the parts that were under Varsaw pact rules. They had enough experience with totalitarianism and identify it quickly. They also cannot be guilted into accepting mass immigration on the behalf of a black slavery and colonization they never practised. But there are a lot of attempts, notably by the EU to push LGBT agenda onto them.
The EU itself is really pushing wokism as much as it can.
I love Bill Maher because he's willing to call out all the BS...from both sides of the aisle. Modern Conservatives might be surprised by how much they have in common with old school Democrats. I'm a life-long Democrat but these days, I find myself agreeing with Moderate Conservatives quite often.

We can't match the intensity of an internet cafe playing dota in the philipines. Most people in the U.S. have lost what made our country special in the first place, and that is people were free to do what they wanted and could express their opinions as they saw it. The flipside of that is you can fail spectacularly and people could make you look like a fool. Now everything is controlled and proscribed. You likely have more freedom in your country than we do here. If I were you I would focus on what you love about where you live and magnify it as much as you can.

Many people, myself included, just prefer arriving to our own opinions without feeling strong loyalty or the need to conform to an existing set of views laid out by a particular side/ party.

as a mom of 2 young boys 7 and 10 I beat myself up sometimes for yelling at them and being strict when I think I need to be, and also not to give in to their "wants", but watching what's happening to these poor kids today I think I am doing a good job. This is very dangerous times we live in.

I myself work with "difficult children" myself (be it their mental inabilities, pathological bringing up and so forth). Where I work and from where I am standing, you're just doing your job as a parent and should be proud that you do it in this way.
I myself see it much too often when a child falls behind their peers mentally just because they fell behind with their education. Biologists could call it de-evolution or whatever, but we see it as bad parenting done by these youngsters parents / legal guardians, who weren't there to push their kids actually not follow the herd and not get brainless and let them be over-influenced by current mainstream media and "culture" they are exposed to.
I, not being a parent myself, may be uproared as someone who "doesn't know anything about parenting, because I am not a..." - EXACTLY, I am not and I see mistakes and falls of the parents, viewing it from the sides and being able to... not be a bigot 🙂in telling people how to bring up their children while letting my own go against my preachings.
Take heart in that you're doing well and knowing how to be strict enough and when. Kids need boundaries and know what kind of behaviour is "off-limits EVER".

my niece is 6. she saw the little mermaid. this week she said she was a mermaid. i filled the bathtub for her and her brother to swim. she started to cry. turns out, because she was a mermaid, she tought she could breath underwater and water enter her lungs. believeing a kid in any way is risky because they dont have critical thinking and often cant distingush reality from fiction.

Back in the 1980s, I investigated many, many, many alleged child abuse cases. This was the era in which all day cares had mass graves in the school yard, children went missing during the day, and children were being sexually molested by daddy care providers. All this wad based upon the belief that children ALWAYS tell the truth. Any rational parent knows that's not true. Children lie because they're children. It's part of the human development process. As for the allegations at the various day cares; numerous searches failed to disclose any mass graves, all children were accounted for at the beginning and the end of the day, and numerous hours of viewing surveillance videos only showed routine day care activity in day cares. With some people, if they look for monsters, in their minds, they're going to find monsters.

The left handed argument shows how out of touch some people are. The reason there is a spike in the graph is because that is when they stopped forcing children to use their right hand. It was once common for children to be trained to use their right hand even when they showed a preference for their left. An age old custom stemming back to before hygiene when you ate with one hand and used the other for the toilet.

I'm 29 and still a tomboy. But refuse to mutilate myself. I never considered myself a boy. I know I am a girl. And I have a daughter. She looks like me, if she is a tomboy like me great. But not gonna tell her she can be a boy. Tomboy as in I don't like to wear makeup, or dress girly. This is just who I am as a person. I still love Dinosaurs. But I am glad they don't exist. But we have pet reptiles.
No such thing as a Kardashian when I was growing up in the ‘50s and ‘60s. At that time women wore dresses, when they went shopping or anywhere else they also wore hats and often gloves. This was every day attire. I mean every day! In the house, every where. Gardening, laundry, cleaning. I didn’t like dresses, shoes, getting my hair done, still don’t, and I’m now in my ‘70s.
Tomboy here and proud of it! Yes I now where makeup, color my hair, etc… but a Tom boy at heart that repairs electronics. Thank God I was raised when I was. Yikes. Scary times.

It is good to see that in this day and age that we still can see and hear people's genuine concerns and thoughts about what is happening in our society. To have the courage and foresight to have a point of view that can be clearly heard by the silent majority. I was born in a time where Vietnam was still in a war,times have changed alot since then. I am a firm believer in ,"Doing onto others as you would have them do to you".If I'm willing to listen to others concerns, then why are they not willing to listen to mine?
