Awesome comment. Being disabled is a group that anyone can join at anytime, unfortunately. I think the conversation may have been more constructive if that woman would have admitted that physical barriers due to her disability had nothing to do with barriers to her as a woman. As a man, I feel that, based strictly on gender, women have no barriers a man doesn't have or maybe privilege in some aspects. I also believe that feminism in the US is not needed any longer. If you want to talk about the plight of women in other countries, I could agree. In many countries women have it very bad.

In my last office job, a woman who made more per hour than I did trained me. At the end of the first year, they handed out our W-2s. Against company policy we sat around and compared how much each of us had made for the entire year. When I mentioned my amount, that same woman flipped out! She asked me if I had gotten some large hourly raise? I said "no." She didn't believe me so I showed a paycheck stub to prove I hadn't. She Couldn't wrap her head around the fact that I made more than her. I reminded her that several times during the year she came in with heavy cramps and left early because she " couldn't handle this today"... all those times I stayed and covered for her. And the dozen-or-so Saturday's she didn't feel like working because her daughter was having marital problems.... I covered those days. And my favorite excuse, I covered the day somebody apparently had used the eyeliner in her top drawer.... she had to leave early for that too. This is why I don't like Pearl, she often just regurgitates red pill ideas and narratives, but she really doesn't have the ability to critically think and form her own opinions. So, when she's trying to bring a valid point about female athletes that comes from her own experience, it comes in direct contradiction to how she framed things earlier because she either just doesn't think these things through enough, or her main goal is to get validation from the red pill community rather than adding anything of substance to the debate. I'm glad Syndey called her out for oversimplifying the topic of the wage gap because its not that i even disagree with Pearl, but she does this way too often and comes off as ignorant.

When they say barrier, they mean they can't kill their child whenever. Or they think they somehow don't have the same legal rights, when they in fact have more in many cases. Pearl isn't trying to get validation. Just because someone says saomething you don't like, or in a way you don't like, doesn't mean they are disingenuous. Im woman from the uk and before i retired i was a criminal defence lawyer. A very male dominated area of the industry esp 25yrs ago when i first entered that field. But it never once occurred to me that i couldn’t do it. I just did it. I went out when i was at university and applied to every law firm to do any work from filing to typing just to get contacts and experience. Then when i was applying fir jobs i applied for everything i saw whether i wanted it or not so i learned how to be interviewed. Then when working in the industry going into prisons, police stations, courts all dealing with 98% male clients, lawyers, judges etc i never felt or thought less than. I remember once a female lawyer came to my area from london and said to me how can you let these men be like this with you its so disparaging and just cos your a woman! I looked her totally confused as really had no idea what she meant. It turned out to her it was bad that my clients would run up to my car when they saw me arrive at court to help with my very heavy and multiple bags, it was wrong that the other lawyers made suggestions and gave advice to me on a case (even though they were just helping someone less experienced a position they had once been in and knew how it felt!). The chat that went on was also bad - you know the banter that i gave more than as good as i got and throughly enjoyed the fun of it. Im afraid i wasn’t as quick as my client who overheard as he told her she needed to take the stick out of her ass and get a life! My clients were very over protective 😆

I would like to add to that in my last job, as a woman, we had a new employee (a man) who was paid more than me and yet we had the same job, but we must take into account that:
I got my contract from the former bosses and at a time when our team was complete.
he got the job from the new boss and was really needed because there weren't enough people in the team.
Before concluding his contract, he demanded a certain price for his salary (of course the boss agreed, we absolutely needed someone more)
And so there was a pay gap, but at any time I could have asked for a raise, at any time I could have quit my job for a "better" place. I didn't because:
      I liked my job
      I liked my team
I was grateful for the lack of accountability that came with not being in charge. (Because of his higher salary, the team treated him like a manager and depended on him.)
There are responsibilities that come with being paid more, which at the time I didn't think I could handle.
Now I'm doing another job where I'm better paid than others and I have more responsibilities. Now I have the ability to do it and the confidence to ask for a certain salary. Mainly because I learned from watching my colleague do his job and learned from his attitude.
I just grew up, it's part of life.
Some people will never have the abilities to be better paid, others will never have the backbone to handle the responsibilities that come with these salaries, but in no case is it due to sexism.
(we can say that if I didn't dare to ask for a raise in my first job, it's because of gender stereotypes that push women to be less assertive than men, but it's still not sexism but gender behavior, no discrimination took place)

Well done to Pearl and Sydney to keeping their cool. Sydney has a video on her experience in the panel and mentioned that the cut version was far more tame and as "on topic" as they could edit it. The uncut panel was nothing but "as a ______" statements and off topic tyrades. That and some of their sentences were even spliced and cut at breaths. They really did hold it together being probably the only 2 people there willing to listen and ask genuine question on the others' comments instead of just falling into the "as a" argument. Mad props.

Bret, Matt Walsh and Ben Shapiro have to understand the ground reality, that having more rights in legal writing contexts don’t mean people have more such rights. The behaviour towards women is still not equal. Men still dominate women in personal and professional spaces. If you don’t face it, it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. These people need to come out of their self created bubble where they all are so knowledgeable and woke.

True that, reality is somewhere in the middle between these extremes.

That’s the problem though. “Men are dominant” isnt a super actionable complaint. Laws have been passed to protect the rights of women. Beyond that, there’s not much of a clear method to fix your problem. What do you want to do to rectify that? Tell them to be nicer? You could try that, but I wouldnt hold my breath if I were you.

I think a lot of times women confuse biological differences for inequality. Women not getting the job because there more careful and timid doesn’t equal inequality it just means there looking for confidence and a certain quality that the women just might not have.

Something I want to add regarding pay - men are encouraged from a young age to take risks, anything from their behaviours in school to asking out their crush. This gives them experience/courage later in life to ask for things such as a pay rise, etc. I think this is a massive factor to later in life. I think if girls had the same treatment earlier in life, the would be more confident as women to ask for a pay rise, etc.
I guess what I am saying is a significant part of the behaviour can be attributed to community rather than biology.

@@matchaeylle my comment was refering to men being raised to take risks.
Men (boys forever) are now being raised to be perpetual wimps.

I’m raising a daughter. And she will never get away with the “I’m a ditzy blonde and I don’t know what I’m doing” game around me. My girl is gorgeous and people have already started to ONLY compliment her looks. Not the fact she reads multiple grade levels above herself, that she is altruistic and kind, that she is funny, and witty and can memorize anything she wants. Not that she’s an artist. Nothing other than her face, hair and smile. I tell her CONSTANTLY, what’s more important than being pretty on the outside?? And she knows, the ONLY answer is “Being pretty on the inside” and what that means for our family is “being smart, kind, funny, loving and strong”. I’m not raising a wilting violet. My daughter will know her worth and it won’t just be because she got a pretty face because of genetics. ❤

My partner still has problems with that. She was blessed with incredible genetics and a much larger than average chest. People still act like she got where she is through looks. That's wrong. She's smart and hard working and, possibly unfortunately, she's absolutely ruthless in business and not afraid to crush those who stand in her way. Now that I think about it, she might qualify as technically evil. But I swear she's not a bad person

3:38 this is so stupid. what does being a woman have to do with race? what do the biological components that make women, women, have to do with race?! these terms r getting more and more nonsensical, so cringeworthy.
