one thing I've noticed about the artwork is that it's become a lot softer. That could just be me, but everything seems to be shaded differently. I like it so far, and find it interesting that Puck seems to be taking a more serious approach now given the circumstances of Guts.
Yeah if you look at the actual shading, there’s not much deep blacks that Miura would often use. It’s a lot more misty and grey now, which I haven’t really seen before. It’s not exactly a bad thing in my opinion, but I do think scenes look better when they’re not afraid to really use black and shade our entire areas. The only issue with using a soft and less differential tones is that the entire thing can look a little bland in comparison. Especially in scenes where they want to express emotion and rage etc. Miura wasn’t afraid to really etch in and make big contrasts in light and dark to emphasise emotion. That being said the artwork and dialogue seems to be quickly improving so we gotta give them credit for taking on such a huge task.
I think they're working out some kinks with the art but it's definitely improving, I'm very optimistic for the future volumes. Keep in mind as well, Miura switched to digital media for his art at some point which somewhat lessened the black-white contrast. Digital tends to have a softer look than physical media, and it seems the new chapters will be maintaining the use of digital art.

It also revealed that what happened to Elf Island drove the Sea Horse far away and it unknowingly wandered into Kushan territory.

Man I really, really hope Guts has a happy ending. He’s really earned it. I know that Miura said he wanted a happy ending for him, but didn’t want to let his emotions cloud his writing, and that it might be more bittersweet. And I know the most common understanding from what I’ve seen is that most fans think there’s no other way/better alternative for Guts than for him to die in the end, but I just don’t agree. Yes, narratively, Guts dying heroically in some way, making a sacrifice that wasn’t fueled by rage but rather by love and tenacity, and ultimately finding peace in death, finally realizing what this has all been for and whatnot, narratively makes sense and fits the tone. Fits the bittersweet idea. But I don’t think that death is the only way to get those themes across! Even if it is bittersweet to watch, reflecting on all the hell Guts has been through, that every moment of his life has been painful and a fight, him dying, incredibly young and only just then and there realizing how to finally have a happy life, is by a long shot way more tragic than it is satisfying or hopeful, at least to me. As one of the most famously tortured characters in media, and one who has also famously inspired so many people around the world and brought them out of dark times, and who we’ve watched suffer for decades now, nothing would feel better than watching him have a happy ending, FINALLY getting to actually enjoy the reward that his constant struggling and persevering and fighting has earned him. @@GilesCorey2011 "Oh no! My sword couldn't cut a ghost! I'm going to cry in my room for 5 issues rather than utilize Schierke and Skull Knight to help me save Casca!"
I feel like people aren't seeing the bigger picture. This is the best thing that could happen to Guts right now. The Kushan are sworn enemies of the Falcon, and they know the Black Swordsman is too, so my guess is Daiba or some Kushan mage is going to restore Gut's and since the berserker armor has been around for so long at this point, maybe someone in Kushan has answers about how to properly wield it. I think the beast of darkness is the worst possible outcome for Gut's but learning to get over it, and control his anger is the arc I would expect from Miura's manuscript 100%. Miura loved Gut's and I'm absolutely positive there will be a good ending for Gut's or for everyone he's starving to protect, but he will certainly finish the series with the beast of darkness completely under his control. Seriously great chapter though, it opens up so many doors. Also this chapter's art was incredible and easily up there with Miura's work, anyone who says otherwise is fuckin capping lol.
Unpopular opinion but I am pretty certain if we never knew Miura passed away nobody would notice anything different about the story, especially not the artstyle since arstyle changes constantly with the ages
What the fuck are you talking about??? These type of comments make me question if people have actually read Berserk, holy shit. The decline in quality is INSANE.
I'm someone who just recently read all of berserk, for the first time. Let me tell you I didn't notice a change at all. The ONLY time I was left wondering about something being different was when the pacing jumped from the elfhelm destruction to the boat, to the kushan empire, in like 4 chapters. But until I read about Muira's passing, I never noticed a thing.
Sorry but this chapter was not good. Puck not reacting to Rickert or showing any emotion when he saw Guts in chains was just so out of character. They dont know what to do with Puck. Plus Rickert not even asking about Casca when in episode 339 he was sure Guts would protect her. The dip in quality just keeps getting worse and worse...

@@ContagiousSponge Puck hasn't said anything about that event (well, no one has), and he doesn't even look remotely sad about it. These chapters are so inconsistent that there's actually a panel of him smiling on episode 370, when Ivalera asks him why he was wandering alone that night. Shouldn't he be concerned about what happened? Studio Gaga and Mori don't know how to write his character, or any character for that matter, so there's no actual confrontation about what happened, at all. He barely reacted to the island's destruction with really poor dialogue, and he didn't even bother to look for his friends when the island was collapsing. Mori and team Gaga clearly don't know how to handle a situation like this, so they don't make characters have meaningful interactions, nor monologues, and that's why neither Puck nor Rickert said anything about Guts' current state.

@@flightkidd123 Do you not understand the shit Guts had to go through after the Eclipse? His whole reason that he hasn't killed himself already is because he still has a reason for living. Keep Casca safe and kill Griffith. And he failed to do both. He honestly doesn't know what to feel anymore. There's only so much trauma a man can take, and Guts has finally reached his limit. He is broken. This is not something Guts can just get over. He may be superhuman, but he's still human.
His love of his life got stolen by Griffith again. Even though he tried slashing at him multiple times, it did nothing. This made Guts feel helpless, as his sword was the only thing he could rely on, but even that failed him.
Might be wrong but as far as I know even before Miura's passing the story was supposedly approaching the endgame, and with Mori saying that he won't tie up any ends that Miura didn't tell him about we must be even closer to the end
This might be a turning point for Guts; one where he resets back to his old self as "the Black Swordsman". The old Guts started out as a hateful, revengeful person. Now, he might become a more melancholy, cynical character. Cynical enough to disregard everyone else, except for Casca. Also, whereas before he was afraid of it, now he might be willing to let the Beast of Darkness take over. Maybe next time he puts on the berserker armor, Schierke won't be there to restrain his inner bloodlust with her magic.
When Griffith's ambitions crumbled he became a husk of the man he used to be. With Casca taken and learning that he can do no harm to Griffith Gut's ambition also crumbles the both of them are suffering the same fate, difference is that Guts will be able to be pulled out of it,
I like how 2 chapters ago we see the beast of darkness has broken out of his shackles for moments later guts himself being chained up. This showing that he is not fighting his inner demons (the Beast of Darkness) and instead succumbing to them .I rlly like the imagery that they are doing to enforce this downward spiral for guts and I also rlly like how they are laying out the future of berserk.

In the beginning I didn’t like the art of the early chapters of Mori’s work but this chapter was amazing it almost felt like miura work so if they keep the art style like this (or keep improving) ima be very happy with the art
there was a bit of a tonal adjustment for sure. I think they are just now getting comfortable with writing more dialogue. That's the main thing those chapters were lacking. It is definitely improving from that awkward phase.
Mori doesn't do the drawing, it's Miura's assistants studio gaga.
It could be worse we could have been in a boat again for years
Hurts to see guts that way...
I'm not a fan of these new chapters. What happened to the Guts who would hack his own arm off to save Casca? The new Guts is a loser emo imho.
The series should have ended after Miura passed away.
@@leos8813nah thats what make berserk good, people dont just hop out of depression in an instant, makes him relatable. Ive seen people in his state for years you dont change overnight 😂
@@leos8813you’re probably one of those dudes who complain that men aren’t able to express emotions in fear of being judged
@@leos8813 If guts is a loser emo as you say, every other character from every work of fiction is a b*tch. Weak bait btw
@@ibrothebro6864 I fucking knew it man. People talk too much I swear xD
I agree. At this point I'm not sure if they actually know what they're doing.
@@a_new_dude7794 Yeah and I am honestly shocked at how many people are like "incredible chapter" etc. It doesnt even come close to what Miura released. There are shortcommings everywhere. I am happy we get more Berserk but I believe they should atleast get characters right since its quite obvious how they react to certaing things when just looking at older episoded. So no excuses there.
Puck's family and friends literally just disappeared in front of him. I'm pretty sure anyone wouldn't be in a good mood if something like that happened to them.
@@a_new_dude7794 Honestly, that's just your opinion. There are just way more people like me who are actually happy and think this is a good chapter. But you can think it's bad if you want.
what will come first, your video on 376 or chapter 377?
Bro wtf last time i read Berserk was when the moonlight boy at the last panel. Now there's like 20 new chapters i haven't read... How long i have been gone!?
Babe wake up!! New Masked Man!!!
Way too holy to be called a Manga
Pls, no more NTR. Please!!!
I've got ma share of freaking PTSD. Ma boi deserves every good in the world. Please, let him have peace.
Grifiiiiiith!😭😭
The biggest thing that stood out to me was Puck. Wonder if he'll be the one the "save" Guts and help him through this while Shrike is away.
Schierke* . And I hope Puck will play a pivotal role again.
0:41 No diddy, right 🤨😒😏
When Guts of all people finally hits the wall. 😡😭😡😭😡😭💔
But at least a new arc is starting and they're going to Kushland I guess. So it should be interesting.
Use the evil genius translation. Usuallly comes out the day of if not a few days later.
Lets Gooo
jesus christ now 12 seconds, im on these videos quick lol
I can see Ricard help guide Gutz out of his hopelessness, and through Ricard guidance gutz will learn to master the berserk armour and take out Griffith
Pucks old home and family just got basically eradicated, so I can see why he's not in the most playful of moods. It also kind of reflects Zodd's quiet moment back in the Casca chapter as a different style of writing.
Oh he came but i a lil late...
Well it clearly shows, Studio GaGa listening. Did you notice Puck is Puck again not chestnut Puck
Where do you go to read new Berserk chapters? Is there a website you use?
They're going to Mumbattan
3:42 is that Hindi?
Yes
I’m really confused as to wtf is going on with guts too like I get it he was traumatized after all that work for Griffith to just swoop in and take his girl again … but damn it feels like it’s been months we’ve been on this part of guts it feels like he’s a wimp at this point tbh
Hes had enough, you would claim PTSD after one lil daily mundane event guts has experienced. Makes him more human, bros not a robot, nothing wrong with being defeated. You sound like an edgy 12 year old
Either you didn't read the previous chapters, or genuinely don't understand why Guts is feeling this way.
Bruh Guts is in a spiral emotion rn, he doesn’t know whether to feel depressed, angry or sad given the amount of time and energy to get casca back to reality only to get her taken away from your arch-enemy who no matter how many deadly swings you landed it just went thru him. However dw he will be back
@@ContagiousSponge nope as I said I get it all the hard work and the panel where he shows all the times he’s killed with the sword and how it’s been with him and the only thing that’s been with him and it let him down yadayadayada MAN TF UP GUTS
What is this? Some sort of _fan fiction_ ?
65K 6mo 393K subs
Why did guts give up?
His love of his life got stolen by Griffith again. Even though he tried slashing at him multiple times, it did nothing. This made Guts feel helpless, as his sword was the only thing he could rely on, but even that failed him.
am i broken i can only see it in 2016 artstyle
Why do people think the story is nearing its end? Was anything said officially?
Might be wrong but as far as I know even before Miura's passing the story was supposedly approaching the endgame, and with Mori saying that he won't tie up any ends that Miura didn't tell him about we must be even closer to the end
WHERE WERE YOU
Yea last Berserk chapter I read was 363... Turns out the moonlight boy IS Griffith...
Bro where's the skull knight???
only grip ive had with the new chapters has been the way they draw zodd now, he looks really stupid
I finished the 1997 anime can someone guide me I’m lost what happened after the last episode do I have to read the manga or the movie or what
Read the manga around chapter 95 to 100
Read the manga, because a lot happened
This showing that he is not fighting his inner demons (the Beast of Darkness) and instead succumbing to them .I rlly like the imagery that they are doing to enforce this downward spiral for guts and I also rlly like how they are laying out the future of berserk.
didn't Koji mori say he's not going to add any dialogue he didn't get from Miura? that's probably why puck didn't say anything to guts and Rickert.
Probably.
Nahhhh I don't think that would be the case.
he only had his sword to rely on, now not even his sword could save him
Ngl a berserk chapter dropping used to be a cultural moment now its just another day in there was no hype leading up to it its just not the same
Eh
I mean, is it? Most fans I know irl and on Reddit get hyped
what? I saw most of us being hyped about the chapter dropping ofcourse, but why would anyone be hyped about our Guts being depressed and in despair? I dont know what did you expect
No miura
No hype
@@mr.gamerkabir8142 fair, but not everyone shares that sentiment

someone finish this bullshit... this shit has gone far enough
puck seems almost disappointed
no i think he's just interested in seeing this new side of Guts which he never knew existed, why would he be disappointed?

I hate where berserk is going because it actually feels too real.( Well, not the fantasy elements, but you know what i mean) think about it, some bad people in the real world are so powerful/influential that its basically impossible for ordinary people to stand up to them. Thats NOT a good feeling
