  • This 69 Chevelle is more of a Family member then it is a Muscle Car.
The owner rode home from the dealership with his father in 1969 and grew up taking care of the car.
After he and his son rebuilt the original 396 they contacted me to solve a couple problems and update the Brakes and Suspension.

I love Lucky's builds. He's so chill and yet does such a good job. And that shop truck, one of the coolest C-10s around! Got to say, though. I'm missing the Chevelle... There's a special place in my heart for that thing.

Can you imagine if you had a tire sponsor how much smoke you would create! Sponsor or not, don't stop! And you gotta love the aftermarket and the parts to make classic cars handle like new cars!

I spent my 20s as a an ASE certified brake specialist. This was in the 80s. A late 60s brake build was very simple.

really like this car and build; very cool. Not cool-burnouts in the garage. Just incredibly sophomoric

Also, polyurethane is an absolutely terrible material for a bushing-those rear control arms should have some delrin ones installed.

I had a 69 Chevelle too and I can confirm that it's factory original because the original Chevelle; BB or SB, didn't matter was almost always almost out of gas. Partly because of the gas tank filler location I'm sure 🤣

Beautiful Chevelle. This is what I wanted before I saw my 66 for sale, and couldn't turn it down. I still want a 68-9. Before I do that I will be upgrading my 66 with new discs and suspension, and engine. I recently blew the head gasket on the original rebuilt 327. I haven't decided what engine yet because I have a Rock Crusher 21 in there and if it can handle 450hp that'll stay, if not I may go to a big big block and replaced the entire drive train. Btw, I saw the show where you upgraded your 66 with the supercharger!! Insane! You must have $30K just in the engine. That 66 is a beast! Great job on this 69 buddy. I love that idea of marking the bolts so you can see if any of them are loose after break in. Thanks Lucky P.S. Your neighbor- "Why does he have to do burn outs in the garage!" You- "Because I can!"

Aldan? Thought you were a QA1 kind of guy. Looks great 👍. I appreciate the plan to do all bolt on mods. If the owner has all the old hoses and belts, I'm sure these take off hard parts are going on a pallet for storage. Makes sense to retain the purity of this one.

If that is a real SS 396 Chevelle, it would have boxed rear control arms, rear upper control arm braces, and a rear sway bar

Nice work Lucky, I'm a little Leary about the coil overs in the rear. The pressure of the spring is all on the shock mount. Springs do not ride in the pocket as they were originally designed stock wise. I remember an episode where you did a similar rear kit and I believe you welded some sort of bar between the two coil mounts and spring mounts were completely eliminated. How do you think this will hold up with out the support bar. I'm interested in this kit?

What size tires are the bf Goodrich on the factory wheels and you skip too many details of the install like you didn't show how the rear coil overs mounted on top to the frame
