This format of letting the car guy riff while he’s working is my favorite and needs to be done more. Feels like we’re hanging out in the garage together, shooting that breeze. Thanks Chip.

George and Dean built something special, in good hands now, at 73 and a car nut since birth, I remember the cars very well. My grandpa and I went to car shows before were as popular as today. Many were homebuilt unlike today

Watching Chip do all that menial work on this car instead of having his guys do it shows how much respect he has for the work Barris and Jefferies did on this rig.
No other big name guy would do this, which is why Chip is THE MAN!

This is not menial work but rather details that demand total understanding of all the parameters as well as a willingness to do the tedious work which requires observation and evaluation as he moves through the process. Chip is the modern master.

I am loving this revival.😎 Thanks for sharing it with us all.
There is almost nothing I enjoy more than slowly cleaning and detailing an old car by hand, no power tools. Just taking your time, letting the car talk to you as you go. By the time you are done, you know her so well.

Without a doubt, this is my favorite car series going on right now on UA-cam, and I watch a LOT of car content! I love how Chip explains the process of how this car was built and how and why he is taking the steps he is, and is not, to restore it. I don't live far from North Bend so it also hits home to think this car has been here, in Washington, this whole time and is such an iconic part of history. Thank you, Chip for taking your time with this car, documenting your process for us, and for just being an all-around good guy!

GOD Love you for keeping a Barris/Jeffries custom “original”!
I started building AMT kits about that time with the Barris add ons in the box. I still have most of them. Later in school living in small villages up here in Alaska I would customize snow machines and motorcycles. After moving to Anchorage in my 20’s I got into cars. Won a few car shows over the years because of those influences from my AMT days.
The sons must be so proud of Dad and thankful of You!

First of all, I can't believe this car was slumbering practically in my back yard, but I'm also just sitting here listening and watching this in a world full of so much noise and garbage and here is this piece of content, where one of the great custom car guys of our time is lovingly bringing back a time capsule and sharing his process and the history of not only the car, but how it was created with all of us. I'm glad this car was not "restored" as was suggested in the earlier video unveiling it with the family. Thanks for bringing all of us along Chip!!

It’s amazing how things have changed over the years with regard to paint finishing
I remember when you were trying to get a good paint finish you always had a little more thinners in the paint to get that good off the gun shine and if the temperature and pressure were just right the paint laid down real nice and then all it needed was a quick whip over with the lambs wool pad and all done
I suspect it did look a bit more shiny but not much compared to today’s mirror finish
I sometimes think they way too shiny but I think that’s just showing my age
So looking forward to the next video chip 👍👍🇦🇺
