I really wish I got one around 10 years ago to build when they were cheap now they are getting classic and more expensive. The owner of this car really knew what he was doing. Looks and sounds like a car you can really enjoy and never get bored.
You are not the only one who wishes that. I remember being offered a genuine VK Brock in 2004 for $6000 and thinking nahhh it’s a little expensive........
I love these cars growing up as a kid VK’s VL’s VH the old kingys are an amazing car an Australian iconic model beats all the new cars hands down in my opinion 🇦🇺
Shit Box yeah you do mate you call them Pontiacs we call them VE Commodores but if you’re talking about the old school once like the VK VH VL ect ect then yeah I get ya the VL Holden had a RB30 in some of them that’s an Nissan engine peoples would use the bottom end of the RB 30 and bolt it to the RB26 or 25 it’s been so long I bearly remember
James Te Huna, Yeah I’m talking about the late 70’s and 80’s commodores, would be awesome to have those here. The rear drive Pontiac stuff is cool but still pretty expensive, heavy cars too.
G'day guys, what an awesome car, do you have the details of the 10 bolt? I'm building a 355 for my VH wagon and was thinking the Salisbury diff wouldn't handle the hp but you've proved me wrong. Would like to know what the owner has done to it to save me spending a small fortune on a 9".
Fun fact: there were only about 3 key variations cut for these cars. My keys could start my mates VB, but his couldn’t start my VC. Many a practical joke was had at his expense 👍
Damnnnnn, very lucky. There are not many of those in Aus. Would love to have a drive in one. The stock versions are amazing through the twisties, the R must be mega!
@@DOO00K I missed your reply, sorry. Sometimes youtube notifications get a bit crazy. What mods have you done? I'll be down in Sydney in April to pick up an friends M2. I'd love to check the Trophy R out, huge fan. What mods have you done?
Solid cam. Can’t believe I left that out of the vid. Sorry man. I can’t remember the exact specs. It’s not overly lumpy, but a very crisp throttle response.
@@ZeroTo60Tube I'm running a vl efi pump under the car as a lift pump to a surge and an 044 in the boot plumbed to the surge tank - all i hear is a faint hiss if i really listen lol
I'm using a carter electric fuel pump which is under the car close to the fuel tank.If you moved it put the battery where the fuel pump was you would have somewhere to put your spare tyre.
They rev nearly better then new engine done up lol get them up and over 8000 revs lol I'd rather one of these then Ls lol last one I did up was 253 a 4-2 liter stroked it out to a 310 went sick on heads ran predator box race carby mid 10 s down drags 510 HP

@@ZeroTo60Tube Ha ha! Yeah, I sold a genuine GTR-XU1 in 1990 for $5,000. I should have just kept it in the garage for a decade.
Buy mine $1000
WoW what a beauty. I own a 2 door 1982 VH commodore coupe ( ADAYER SPORTIF ) Holden classic cars.

Love that iron lion
I love it, I wish we would’ve got Commodores in the US. 👍🏻
These early ones were so light. They make quick drag cars with some power under the hood.
Zero To 60, Holden nailed it with the Commodore for sure. 👍🏻

You got the Chevy SS, which was the Commodore SS here in ‘Straya.

awesome the good old days

Could explain why so many are getting stolen lately :|
Stuff that fuel pump
Damn. A super snappy motor, really low gearing, or both?
Friggin love it, great channel 🤘👌
Glad you enjoy it! The car was so much to play around in for the weekend.
Isn’t that Zak’s from sunny coast vh?
Would it be possible to retrofit an insulated sound dampening cover over the fuel pump in the boot?
It sure would. Its been ages since we have seen this car. Would love to see what the owner has done to it lately.
im thinking of buying a VH for my first car i live in aus btw what do you guys think
You'll need deep pockets these days.
Weld wheels 5 x 120 commodore stud pattern? Or hq 5 x 120.65?
The fuel pump noise gives it such beautiful character in my opinion
What exhaust does it run from extractors back? Mild or stainless and diameter?
I hope the owner keeps the venetians. They suit it. Great review! If you guys are ever in Sydney, you can do the same with my Trophy R.
Thanks Yuri. Love the Trophy Rs. What year is yours?

Zero To 60 ...and mines been modified a bit. Which some think is sacrilege as there were 250 worldwide with 50 brought to Oz.

Australian icon or opel icon?
Tuff 💪
Hey guys what cam is it running hydraulic or solid ?
Solid cam. Can’t believe I left that out of the vid. Sorry man. I can’t remember the exact specs. It’s not overly lumpy, but a very crisp throttle response.
Cheers mate
Richard Kuklinski they’re a flat tappet not a roller
I use to own Vh intercptor. Same colour. i regret selling it
Put it on methanol and it will really sing, the owner is already halfway there with the fuel system 👍
You mean E98 pump fuel?
There are much better, much quieter inexpensive super reliable fuel pumps you can use !
Yeah but do they sound like a jet is taking off in your boot? Haha
