Damn, this brought back some old memories. My first car was a white VH straight 6, lowered, mags, sports exhaust, extractors, stereo, 10 inch subwoofer in parcel shelf and totally blue veloured interior, I probably would have spent over 10k on in it with plans on dropping a 308 in it but ended up rear ending a Patrol nearly writing the car off. Did some shonky backyard repairs and chucked a VC grill on it but it looked crap and never drove the same so took it to the wreckers (I did take out all the good stuff) and walked away with only $500! 😂
Some old school V8 falcons would be nice.👌😃 Nice car and you really tell the owner has spent a lot of time and money on this VH. Great video Clay👍😃 Keep up the good work.
My first V8 back when i was on my Ps lol was a 1992 VH commodore. Ive Always loved the shape😁👍. Mine ran a mildly worked 308, lumpy cam etc, 3 speed trimatic with stage 2 shift kit, decent exhaust system, sat on kings springs low and 15inch pursuit rims. I no longer have the VH but want another. I now have a 1977 holden HX GTS 4 door monaro 😁. 383 chev, big 4 into one headers into twin 2 and half inch exhaust with no mufflers, sounds awesome!😁 😏😈. turbo 400, 9inch with detroit locker etc etc😁👍
Gotta love the old V8 Commodores. Nice car brother 👍. Man I miss my Ex Chaser VK 5.0 4 speed. That car was quick, handled great and was reliable to boot.
Re RPM gauge @9:26 the VH came in 3 variants - SL, SL/X and SL/E (executive). Only the SL/E had a tacho, the other variants had an ‘economy’ gauge in that place which measured manifold vacuum. At idle the needle would sit at 2 o’clock position and move anticlockwise with more acceleration.
Definitely old school especially no powersteering like family HJ Kingswood, brother XE but my VH had powersteering with automatic 202 six, awesome vid with nice 308 sound.
I was born in 1st May 1987. What a great fantastic video you have put out today, Clay. I do also have a UA-cam channel myself. Bill's Channel - sta Keep up the good work mate Regards William.
Only berlina and Calais had rev guage and almost all extra buttons on middle dash, i had a vk 5.0 wagon Berlina for 25o bucks in 2010 and paddock bashed it for a weekend, sad how much they going for today, but i got my vt 5.0 Berlina sedan still
Still the same 308 cast block in a VL. Still has 308 cast on the side. They reduced the stroke to make it a 304. I have a VL block (now stroked) sitting in an engine cradle in my garage, 10 meters from me right now! Copied from the internet- In August 1984 Holden reduced the stroke of the 308 engine by 40thou (1mm), giving a capacity of 4997cc (304ci). This change involved a new crankshaft, rods, pistons and cam. Several versions of the 304ci engine were produced.
I really hate it when young guys, who weren’t even born when the cars they’re drooling over, are trying to tell us older blokes how good they are. I actually had a VH Group 3 back in the day, I purchased it 2nd hand from a co-worker who needed the $$$, only reason I don’t still have it is some maggot stole it whilst it was at a Holden dealership being serviced. No cctv back in the late 80’s. I had to sue the dealership to get compensation as the keys were left in the car after it had been washed. Strangely enough no one lost their job and apparently it wasn’t the first such incident, as I found out when we went to court.
Raw footage, no fancy editing and a genuine love for all different types of cars with a friendly host, thumbs up!
Love the way the channel has gone in the last few months😊
Appreciate the support so much man! Love that you can see the changes in the videos😁🙏

Fark yess! Love the early girls clay, would love to see some more of these vb vc vh so cool being the first ones made
Thanks so much Troy! Lots of early chromies to drop again soon and even faster👀🔥

so how is it a stroker? if the cubes is still 308? as he said it's only got a cam ?
Good video CW more of this content. Loved the VH😉🇦🇺👊
So much love for the chrome bumpers! Thank you mate🔥
respect the grind clay, you've been smashing out good content.
Appreciate you Lachlan! Thank you for the support🙏🙏
Awesome car. Wanted something like this for a long time now but in manual. I never had a nice car as a teen, if I get one it's a keeper and never sell

Nicely put together, that raw sound :)

This is a ripper of a car. Perfect for a daily driver
Fantastic restoration. Keep up with the passion.
If everything goes as planned the we might be able to do something towards the end of the year if you want to play with a V6 VN Commodore.
Love it, just building one myself 👍
Loving the channel bro 👌
Can’t wait to see it done! Thank you Kelvin✌️🔥

Very cool VH 👌
I had a VK V8 and a VN SS ...
Awesome review Clay. Need a review on that VK 😮💨🙌
IF IT CAME OUT OF A VL IT'S A 304 V8 308 Black motors came out in the VK
Yes all VL was 304, though 304 came out during VK.
Earliest VK groupA SL was 308, counter intuitive considering the point of making the change
amazing video with a phat car brother!
Thank you mate!!🔥
Nice, it needs the rear headrests
Love these engines in top end they just scream
The classic 5l can't be beaten
Love the big workshop with just cars only. Bro must be cashed
Never late with a 308
Aussie pride🇦🇺❤️
Haha old school legend lots of love to your channel from Queensland
Appreciate you Steven! Thanks for the love mate🤝
@@ClayWong mate I used to own an eh sky blue pearl roof if you can find one
VB/C/H commodores with Holden V8’s have a unique exhaust note, think it’s muffler placement, they sound so good
Lovely car
Iron lion 💥💢💯
Awesome! 💪
Definitely old school especially no powersteering like family HJ Kingswood, brother XE but my VH had powersteering with automatic 202 six, awesome vid with nice 308 sound.
awesome luv the vh even better it's still holden powered
No other V8 beats the sound of a tough Aussie 5L
The 5l is the worst sounding motor lol
@@sammy-ko6bsWhy?
That sound…. 😍
308 stroker? WTF? I can't count how many things are WONG with this video. Holden stroked the 308 to create a 355.
fkn awesome !!!!!!!!!!!!
Cool lookin VH

I saw you at motorex but I didn't go up to you because I didn't think it was you😭
Nice car , I had a VB with a little 253 best car I have owned
Top car very clean 🔥
Nice but ss stickers.. not cool
What radiator are you running to keep it cool?
Very nice
That was recently sold on carsales. Nice car
VLs did not come with 308s, they were all 304s.

The 4987cc 304.3 has a 3" stroke = 62 thou difference the bore was 4" still same as 308
Host looks like Bolo Yeung.
Very similar to my VC… 👌
Horr mr wong😂
Nice car, that motor definitely counts as V8 therapy! Pity about the traumatic gearbox though!
Yooo anymore wrx learning to drive manual videos?
If you like that, you should come see my 355 VC.

Did someone hurt you?
Nice car but it seems a little bit heavy on the petrol
Looks like an Opel Commodore C from Germany 😅
Type in a crash test 😂😂😂 omg death trap.
put vk power steering in it
Is it a stroker or not bloke said 308 with a cam thumb nail says stroker 🤷♂️
That's what I'm confused about too
Mustang lol
Love the vh but the interior is just wrong
Same with the VL. Looks fantastic on the outside but the dash & center console area is just blah
@@dcptivVL has the best 80s interior what are u on about look at the Calais interior an icon u can’t beat it
Wheres the TEMU Wuhan War Whistle at???
Nice car, doesn't sound like a stroker at all!
Puts foot flat, fuck all happens....
