Yep, it should sound the business. If it sounds half as good as the Holden powered VN that Perkins Racing punted around Eastern Creek in the late 80's we will be very happy. The unique firing order of the Holden V8, 10.5:1 compression, high lift camshaft, 6200rpm and EFI should combine to make an amazing sound.
Nice one mate. We aren't going for all out power or torque with this build. Just a reliable circuit engine that Fred Junior can turn some laps in that sounds and goes good. Thanks for watching and commenting mate. 🙏
Hi Gary, the Walkinshaw throttle body manifolds are $20K+ if you can find them. From our research, the COME racing tunnel ram twin throttle body manifold is just as effective and more affordable!
Where are Gen Tech Performance based? That engine looks great. Can't wait for One raceway to open. I'll be taking my Hq there when the next Track Day Club event is on.
Hi Big Al, we read out the lift specs of the cam in the video but I will track down the print out and send you the full specs. Ditto on the Isky lifters - will chase down the part number.
Hi mate, over revving the engine and/or weak valve springs are usually the culprit for a bent push rod. Are you running the standard cam, internals etc..?
Hopefully the manifolds have improved since Sam and Izzy sold up. I don't know what they used for alloy but their heads and manifolds were utter garbage. The only thing they couldn't cope with was a heat cycle. And Sam was the rudest most arrogant bloke I've ever met. One set of heads I got off him were like a soaker hose. Water came out of them from everywhere when they warmed up. But he was in total denial. Fingers crossed they use a different foundry now mate. 👍
Great to see some real experienced engine building, and a Holden V8 at that👌
More to come!
Can’t wait to hear that engine start up.
Holden V8s sound great but nothing on a SB2.2 nascar engine at 8500rpm

That's going to be a solid build 💪 nice one!
@@com-mod9716 thanks mate!
Looking good, can’t wait to hear that monster run👍
You and me both!
I owned a VN with a 355 twin throttle body years ago the are torque monsters that engine looks like it will go pretty hard.

Nice one. Have a look at your cam bearing clocking though. Looked as though they were clocked at 6oclock. Should be 12 to 2 o’clock.
Thanks for the tip, will double check
Awesome, can't wait
Us too! Thanks for watching mate!
Nice thumbnail Fred. Any reason why you didn't go with the original walkinshaw style throttle body that Larry used to run?

G'day mate, they are based in Mitchell, ACT. Tell em Fred sent ya and Marcus will sort you out. Thanksmfor watching and see you at One Raceway!
Around 470 HP
If it makes 400hp+ I think that will be very handy in a 1300-1400kg stripped out race car.
What’s the specs of your cam please and what’s the part number of your hydraulic roller lifters?
Good video 👍

@@ClunieGarage thanks 👍
Any updates soon?
Hi fella what can cause bent push rods in a hsv ve ls2 (vxr8 uk)

@@ClunieGarage yeh standard everything, I've checked valve springs none are broken I'm thinking the timing chain might of jumped a tooth
What has happened to the snotbox? It is green again?
G'day Angry, yes the snot box is about to be transformed. Stay tuned for future episodes! 😎
It shall remain nameless…. What like Maxpeeing?
No comment. No mando's, yodas, darth vaders or batmans were mentioned in this video either. #happylad

Mate tell me that’s not a south Sydney bunnies jersey underneath
It is!! Tough year to be a supporter!
what is going on with your tony kart
@@LMRacing88 it's currently at the go kart mechanic shop getting a major service and freshen up.
So nothing actually gets built……awesome 🙄
Heads assembled and ported, block machined, rotating assembly balanced, custom oil pump built. Yeah, you are right....muppet.
