I'm a bit frustrated with mine because I had an idle problem, where after 30 mins of riding, it fluctuates, then cuts out. It start again straight away and I just have to hold the revs up to keep it running. It has been in the dealers workshop for two weeks now, no answer. I'm assuming it is a split in the inlet manifold, that is opening when it is warm, and messing up the vacuum.
Update on my earlier comment, turns out the idle and cut out problems was the alternator, some of the magnets came loose and were causing the motor to cut out. Fortunately, the dealer is replacing the alternator and side case to the upgraded 2024 version, under warrantee. Something to watch on the pre 2024 models.
no manufacturer can make you use their specific oil, unless they are paying for the oil changes (free lifetime oil changes), thats against the law and there has been many lawsuits over it. the only one that i know specifically that does this is bmw auto, but they change the oil free of charge to the customer. you dont have to use harley oil, you just have to use a suitable alternate that meets the oem spec. seen yall going up 129 saturday 8/10/24 and again at the "booger holler" gas station. ride safe!
Things things for tire wear: Adjust how you pack your bike and shrink that box so the pooch sits in the middle. Go see a chiropractor, if your leaning to one side that much and dont notice it, you may need adjustment.
I’d like to point out that I’ve never stop by a Harley Dealership that didn’t have Syn3 motor oil in all its flavors yet, I’ve visited dealership from coast to coast.
Harley is so full of it. They keep getting in trouble for telling people that. You DO NOT need to use their oil/parts. They cannot deny your warranty for aftermarket parts or doing your own servicing unless it can be attributed as directly what caused whatever failure. So says the government (magnuson moss act and the 2022 ftc ruling against harley). That being said they are so completely different dealership to dealership and even if they "aren't allowed" to deny warranty doesn't mean they can't anyway and make it a legal battle. Too bad they seem to insist on being that way. Nice ride and sweet dog.
@@knuckleheadedadventures You do not need the Syn blend oil. Read the owners manual and you will find that the full synthetic that’s common on all harleys and available via many different brands is considered as excellent to use. Again it’s in the book. Harley doesn’t deny the warranty service.
Your wire issue, what part of the exhaust was melted? I ride 2 up on mine, my wife weighs more than your pup. I would guess you have a alignment issue. Im on my third PA. Only my first had issues. I carry 2 quart bottles of fuel. Its bad to run a electric Fuel pump low on gas. In 24 the stator larger capacity.
Loose those tires. I run pirelli scorpion trail 2. These come on the multisttradas. They wear good and great in rain. My fuel pump went bad. It’s a pan America problem

I would love to buy a Pan American, but I can’t stand the reliability issues. Harley has a big problem. Right now I have a Yamaha Super Tenere. I’ve never had a problem with it. Oil changes are super easy. Maintenance is super easy. When I get ready for a new bike it will be a BMW GSA. Sorry Harley, your poor build quality lost you another sale.

I'm not sure about using their oil so much as finding an oil that is the same type.

This things been around long enough that all the bugs should have been worked out of it by now.

What are you doing to those tyres? I have have done 9,000 mile, 4,400 with the standard tyres and 4,600 with 50/50 tires, neither are that worn out.
We ride on the Dragon quite a bit
The dog is royal
Thanks, he has about 45k miles now.
My Harley Dealer sells AmsOil and they ask you if you want Harley oil or AmsOil. Sone days they have red line oil.
Sorry buddy, that tire wear is not normal. You have a serious, and potentially dangerous problem you need to address immediately.
