Mousse is my holy grail product. I have fine yet high density curly waves and I use the Not Your Mother’s Curl Talk Mousse. It works wonders and doesn’t make your hair dry at all. People say mousses and gels dry out hair, but you just have to look for something without silicones, sulfates or any drying alcohols. The only acceptable gel that I know of that contains a verrrrrry tiny amount of alcohol in it is the Jessicurl Spiralicious Styling Gel. Mousse has changed since the 80’s y’all😂

@@Ang36914 Thank you for the suggestion! My hair is pretty long and very fine. I’ve actually tried the silk rod, I always love the way they turn out, but my straight hair doesn’t hold a curl for more than an hour usually, and I try to avoid products with alcohol that ultimately dry it out as much as possible. I’ve found a scarf from dollar tree makes tighter waves, but they last longer. Still, the idea of being able to plop my hair overnight, or have nice braided waves instead of my own crimped and frizzy ends seems so much nicer to me.

I want to try mousse but every mousse ive ever tried is either crunchy or sticky and weighs my hair down until its almost straight. Any recommendations for a mousse that will dry soft and flexible?

I have wavy hair and I apply curl cream and mousse already BUT I let it dry naturally in a braid rather than using a diffuser. Does a diffuser give better results? Am I missing something by not doing it that way?

I finally realize that I can never achieve this no matter what I do. This girls hair type is not the frizzy wavy dry weird looking locks. It appears her base is slightly thin wavy hair but not super dry and not super frizzy type.

That's what I noticed. She has no frizz at all. It almost seems straight at the top and then it forms into ringlets. It's Really beautiful but not the texture that most of us with wavy/curly hair have.

I have a question: when you do upside down method and when flip up the hair, how do you make it nor looking "undone" or "uncombed"?
Whenever I flip, my hair looks untidy and messy and as if I haven't brushed that for a week or so.
Yours looks sooooo silky and elegant🥲

Your hair is GORGEOUS. I either just realized i have curly hair (2c/3a) a few years ago or it grew back curly after losing it to chemo lol and I finally tried your bowl method the other day and it was a total GAME CHANGER. The only thing is even after breaking the cast with an oil, it wasn't super soft, it felt a little rough and textured. The only thing I did differently was air drying as opposed to diffusing only bc I didn't have time. Could the texture be due to that?
My other issue is that I'm a muslim woman who wears hijab and when I put my hair in a bun (not tight) and wear my hijab whenever I leave the house (almost every single day) it ruins my curls. I did notice with the bowl method they stayed a bit more in tact as I never used mousse or any other hold agent before but still definitely not as pretty after wearing a hijab 😕 any tips you can think of that might help?
Thank you so so much for your amazing videos. Educating myself on curly hair care has been so overwhelming but your channel has been amazing and I will be sticking to the bowl method!

Hi!! I’m so happy my videos have been helpful!!
For the rough texture it sounds like you may have used a little bit too much mousse-try cutting back a bit to see if that helps!
So at night I use a silk or satin scarf to wrap my hair up to keep my waves tangle free and defined. I wonder if you could do something similar to wear under your hijab! I have a shorts video showing how I wrap my scarf, but a silk or satin bonnet could also be a good easy option :) there are also soo many ways to wrap curls so you could also try searching on here for some other techniques if my way doesn’t work for you!

I think im using my mousse wrong because i get some more definition but its kinda frizzy destroying somen of that definition. And its not very good the next day because it feels... i dont want to say sticky because thatd not quite right. Its like between sticky and rough and i wake up with it messy so i have to brush my hair and then it totally destoys any definition and the hairs clump and stick together a bit and i lose quite a bit nore hair. Or perhaps it's my mousse idk
