This is such a cool content. When I discovered that my wave hair doesn’t need a million steps was just a break it free moment. Please keep inspiring others wave girls hair and let them know there is a space for them to learn how to take care of her hair ❤
This is how I feel too! Back when I first started embracing my waves back in high school, all I used was mousse and maybe a wave spray and my hair looked AMAZING. Now of course I'm trying to work my way back to that after many years of heat styling 🥴 but that's OK haha.
Thanks. Not much content from 2a girls, so yours is appreciated. Mine may be a little 2b as well, but thinner than yours. I have fought my hair my whole life with heat styling and now learning to embrace what I have been given. We all seem to want what we don’t have. 😊
Thanks to you, I have realized my hair is much wavier than I thought it to be. And there aren't many videos on 2a hair, so thank you for making these 💕
Due to hormonal changes, my hair has suddenly decided she's wavy & I've been struggling to figure out a new routine. I was about to give up because it seemed like sooooo much work, but you've given me hope that I can stay a low maintenance girl while also having lovely waves!
Omg I think I found my exact hair type! 2A, and when I even make an effort to wave it more to make it 2B, it just goes back to 2A, no matter how much scrunching I do. That's what convinced me that I'm really 2A. And my lower back hair isn't 2A too, it won't create a wave no matter how much I try to scrunch it! Wow! I'm so happy to find you! ❤
Try a curl activator gel, they leave the hair feeling very soft. My hair thinned and lost most of the curl but this brought most of it back. The brand I have is Softee for extra dry hair.
My hair is 2b/2c and after 2-3 months in the process i realized i like the effortlessness of a simple routine, and i also encourage anyone with thin hair strands to try cgm friendly hair spray. Works better than gel
oh I love this! I have 2a-2c hair. with a lot of effort I can make it look more uniform, but what I love most about waves and curls is how care-free they appear and I want the effort to match lol. I enjoy seeing more ideas for routines that require less fuss.
Hey, I hope this is okay to share here! I am a transwoman and I was never allowed to grow my hair out when I was a child. I am really grateful for this video. I cannot put loads of product in my hair as the weight exposes my receding hairline, so this has been perfect for me. My hair is so soft and wavy, and my partner has been noticing a confidence boost too! Overnight my overly-brushed, frizzy mop is now what I dreamed of having when I was a child. I didn't use the exact products from this video, I ended up going with Cantu products instead. This video is so accessible and really helped me know what to research and how to apply these products. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
This is so real 😂I hate using product in my hair. For the longest time I was trying curly girl routines and it just wouldn't work with my hair sooo... I really needed this video, thanks a bunch!
I loved your 30 day wavy hair journey vid and i'm so happy that I came across this video! I'm struggling a lot about enhancing my waves bc I put a ton of effort on washday with gel and plop and diffusing but it feels bittersweet at the end especially when I pretty much have to refresh the next day. I've heard a lot of people do better with the wash now style later routine and i definitely should try that!
I really enjoy your wavy hair videos. I also have wavy hair, although my hair has 2c waves in the front and the rest is 2b&a . I notice if my waves aren’t doing good I’ll use Shea Moisturize Protein Power Mask and it really helps bring the waves back. I think it would be cool if you tired that and we could see if adding protein gives you more wave.
Thank you SO MUCH, this is a perfect launching point for me to start trying a hair routine. I'm a 1C/2A "shower at night, air dry, brush in the morning and go" person rn, but I've been wanting to try baby steps into the world of hair styling. Thanks a bunch!
THIS! This is what I've been looking for. Thank you for this video!! Most of the time I tried to wear my hair wavy the time would be longer or more annoying to get used to than just straightening it and it would fall out during the night or when I brushed it. I will try this out, thank you!
I love how this looks and I have discovered I have very slight waves like yours. I’m too lazy to even do this. I cannot be bothered to do any plopping, diffusing or using gel/mousse. I hate putting product in my hair other than leave in conditioner and I hate heat styling. I blowdry my hair without a brush for like 7 minutes and done. I wish there was some magic cream I could put in my hair that would give me perfect waves without me having to do anything else. I’m that lazy!!!
I like that this is a practical routine and I feel like not enough people acknowledge that not all waves are equal. Mine are similar to yours, so I guess 2a and I also get a few coily-girls, as you said lol. And my hair is low density and fine. Sometimes, if my hair is in the right mood (aka usually when there is enough humidity in the air), it is a bit wavier, but I feel like there are so many videos on the internet trying to show that if you go on this “journey” your hair will be even wavier/curlier than ever and I just haven’t found that to be the case for my hair. Its waviness kinda fluctuates, but it’s not as black and white as I feel like people make it out to be. Not many people acknowledge 2a waves. Anyway, I think I will try this routine soon! Thank you!
💯 agree with you! I think most, if not all people, have a mix of different hair types. I definitely have a mix of 1C/2A, but given 2A is my outer layer of hair, I like to style it wavy. Because our hair type is the least wavy of wavy hair, folks like to default to "it's not wavy at all." Some people tell me my hair isn't 2A - that it's not wavy enough, or that it looks better straight - but the whole point is my hair isn't actually straight without heat styling. Some seem to treat wavy hair as an exclusive club - but hair typing is really meant for folks to better understand how to care for their hair. Hair - like everything else that's part of your body - is personal. What matters is simply how you want to wear your own hair based on the result and the styling process. With a high effort routine (which is most wavy hair routines I've seen) my coily girls come out. But I prefer an easy heatless/low heat styling routine with a natural result, even if it means I lose some wave definition. I like my soft waves whether or not other people acknowledge them as waves or like how it looks. I hope others can feel the same way about their hair and not be swayed or bothered by other peoples' opinions. Hope this routine works for you! 💗
@@mejulialee Yess I agree, there is no right or wrong way to style any hair/hair type. It’s all personal! And I have implemented some of your routine with some success! Low effort (but still liking the outcome) is right up my alley 😄😄 Thanks for your response 🩵
Thank you so much! This was a perfectly thorough explanation of what you do to get your 2A hair looking good! Can't wait to try it out for myself. It will work better for me than my current method (of doing nothing).
I've noticed a big difference between Summer & Winter since our Summers are very dry & hot with wet Winters. In the Winter my hair shrinks up much more & I get thicker juicier clumps & more definition (it's 2b/2c I guess & can verge on 3a) but in the Summer it doesn't clump as much or not as thick & the waves are looser & less defined (which is fine, I wanted beachy waves not tight curls). I could never get good resulrs from refreshing until I used Mop Top curl activating gel. That reactivates nicely with a little water/leave in conditioner mixture. I think the key with wavy hair is not using products that are too heavy for your hair texture or expecting it to be curly when it's not. Mousse & light weight gels work better than heavy curl creams & thick gels. I do sleep with it up in a pineapple just to prevent tangling since I do not brush it (frizz city if I do) I think what most of us want is fullness & body without frizz :)
Watching this after spending 45 minutes blowdrying my hair last night after a shower only to go to bed with slightly damp hair and waking up to stringy madness in the morning. And I've been set free.
Sometimes I just wet and scrunch again and that's enough to re-activate the product that's already in my hair. If I know I'm going to shower anyway and I'm on day 3/4, I might add some more mousse to give it a bit of a lift!
I'm absolutely gonna try this out sometime! I have this hair type, although mine is thicker than yours, but there's hardly any basic tutorials on how to achieve nice waves. Thanks for the tips!
Your hair is so pretty! I love the soft waves you have. I'm not sure whether my hair is 2A or 2B since I've only just started this journey, but I'd also love a routine that requires less work, especially since I also shower in the night. I still struggle a lot with wet frizz, stringy hair, and not really being able to scrunch out the crunch😅 I ordered a water filter for my shower since we have extremely hard water where I live, so I hope that will help. Hair stylists used to compliment how healthy my hair is so I'm not sure where the issues are coming from. Maybe it's also just the transition phase that my hair might still be in. Thank you for your helpful videos. There aren't that many videos for our hair type out there, so I appreciate you sharing your routine!! :)
Thank you SO SO MUCH for this video!! I've had my hair very short for a while, so I haven't had to worry about my waves in a few years, so... Now that I'm growing it out again, I've been feeling kinda lost! I'm really hoping that my hair gets less frizzy as my pattern re-develops. It's so funny because - at least right now - my hair is 2A/2B on the front third & the other 67% is 1C. 😅
You have pretty much the exact same hair texture as me, so this is SO helpful. I have been struggling with my 2a hair and just shifting through different routes so I need to try this! Thanks ❤
Thank you for posting! I’m half Asian and loved seeing a video with hair similar to mine! I also shower at night and was wondering what hair care you do before bed. Do you air dry (which could take me hours) or do you blow dry? I think I can do the same morning routine as you but I’m just not sure what to do after showering and before bed. Thank you!
Thank you very much for this video! My hair was stuck straight all of my life, but just recently it changed to 2A and it does the same thing as yours …. Also, being new to this type of hair, I am too lazy for it too! 😂
I have watched all your videos of your journey and am hopeful I can give my wavy hair a try. Now that you have developed this lower maintenance method, what is your shampoo schedule? After how many days do you shampoo? What type of shampoo do you use? Do you use a clarifying shampoo periodically?
I never knew my hair was that wavy!! i tried today the scrunchy with leave in conditioner and my hair came out wavier like yours!! i always thought my hair was 100% straight, because i always see videos of hair too wavy or hair too straight, now i know it's not like that. what product do you recommend me to dont get my hair frizzy while it dries when i do scrunch? gel, mousse?
I have 2a/2b hair type and I do nothing with it. I don’t put anything in my hair, nor do I enhance my waves. I leave it natural. I like how my hair looks when I don't put anything on it. I just let my hair do w.e it wants lol.
I SPENT SO LONG FINDS=ING OUT MY HAIR TYPE , GOOGLED AND UA-cam SO MUCH ABOUT 1C+2A , NOTHING i was like , does this combo even exist?? BUT FINALLY I FOUND YOU! but there's a draw back............my hair are frizzy , they come till my lower waist , they are pretty thick (but having hairfall now) , if i wet my hair it won't help me like literally , i don't even know what conditioner to use , im a student and south asian (north indian) my mom and school (in im 12th grade) want me to braid my hair which is actually actually protective hairstyle , but then it means my routine is hairwash then oiing and braiding , i can't do this.........
Hi! Did you ever try air drying cream? My favorite is from pacifica or from SunBum… one product and done, it works wonders for my waves (2a-2b) I spent years looking for products and routines and got tired putting more than one or two products in and putting the time or effort in was way too much
If I scrunch I lose texture. I just finger comb some gel into my wet hair going in thick chunks and let it go. I get 2a-2b waves this way. 1c if i scrunch.
I think your hair type is 1C mine is 2 A it's more wavy than yours but unfortunately I couldn't make it work. The products always weigh down my hair. It looks so beautiful like 2B hair when it's scrunched but it gets frizzy once it dries. I am going to try out your routine maybe less product will make it work. Great video!
Yeah i also think it is 1C since the wave is not as defined as 2a hair, it looks more like straight hair but with a soft wave. I'm not discriminating or anything, just saying that 2a hair should "curl" up or form a bigger wave especially with mousse or products like that. Your hair looks beautiful anyway!
When you mentioned you only need to style the top of your hair .. I instantly knew the video will be relevant 😅 .. I have 2b-c front hair (bangs part only) .. 1b -c with a little frizz on the top layers … inner layer is straight 🤷🏻♀️ super weird
I have no idea what type of hair i have. It's definitely not straight because when it air dries, there is an extremely slight wave to it. My actual hair strands and super thin and my hair can not hold a curl. It gets so tangled so easily too. Im gonna try this routine and see what happens
I know mouse or gel is neccesary and I´ve been trying to use them for so long but it always ends up feeling so crusty on my hair, you can feel it and it won´t be soft AT ALL anymore - any advice for that? I´d appreciate any ideas T-T
Just fyi to get the most waves I would try to not brush it not with a brush or with your fingers. Brush it one time gently while it’s wet and then that’s it 👍 also I like to wear a tshirt if I’m going to use products so it doesn’t get on your skin - you can use a button up but that’s me being extra -looks great though! Also I like your technique of not wetting your scalp! Sometimes I put a makeup head band on before I get in the shower so it only gets the back of my hair wet.
I wash my hair with ricewater-shampoo and a coconut conditioner. And after i wrinsed the water out spray a leave in in and thats it 😅 i have some waves but after i brush it they are straight
I’m a lazy woman with wavy hair who also showers at night. This is still too much for me 😂 I just let it air dry till damp and then put it in a double braid at each shoulder and sleep. Give it a light spray and comb through with your fingers in the morning and that’s all I need.
My hair is mostly straight but in pictures I can see I have like sections of my hair that looks super zig zaggy and wavy but if you look at me from the front it looks like super straight hair but the back is like a party lmao
Hope this helps! Let me know if you want to see a before and after review of Prose 💗
Very beautiful hair.
Yes please! this video is so helpful, really appreciate the simplicity and effeciency of this routine!
I'm curious if you've tried prepping your hair after wash and leaving the cast on overnight and scrunching out the crunch on morning refresh...
So leave in, mousse, gel, Moroccan oil.

Thank you for making this video!! 😀
Hi! Did you ever try air drying cream? My favorite is from pacifica or from SunBum… one product and done, it works wonders for my waves (2a-2b) I spent years looking for products and routines and got tired putting more than one or two products in and putting the time or effort in was way too much
I haven't, never heard of it! Appreciate the tip, I'll definitely check it out 🙏💗
Do u not brush ur hair afterwards? Does it works as a curl cream / leave in and a mousse all???
kristen ess air dry creme is also great! and available at walgreens lol.
Thank you so much! It was very helpful video for me!
I just found out I have the exact same type of hair! No wonder the outer layer of my hair is always frizzy lol This was so helpful ❤
Thanks so much! Finally a routine I can follow for my ridiculously confused hair. 😂❤
If I scrunch I lose texture. I just finger comb some gel into my wet hair going in thick chunks and let it go. I get 2a-2b waves this way. 1c if i scrunch.
Would love to see the Prose video!
What type of haircut do you ask for? We have a very similar wave pattern.
Your hair looks beautiful anyway!
is it okay if i skip the gel? i live in australia and i white literally cannot find any ANYWHERE. 😭😭
Yes, sometimes i only get 2 or 4 coiling girls. The rest are wavys like urs or flat
My hair is slightly wavier than your hair. Maybe i'm 2b? (I thought i was 2a til now 🤷♂️)
My grandma and my cousin are rare east-asian 3a.
Hii can u recommend me some good leave in conditioner and hair mask for high porosity wavy hair pls?
What kind of shampoo and conditioner do you use?
I wash my hair with ricewater-shampoo and a coconut conditioner. And after i wrinsed the water out spray a leave in in and thats it 😅 i have some waves but after i brush it they are straight
I think I have 2a hair but my baby hairs get to 2b-2c. I also had super wavy hair when I cut it short. I dont really know how to take care of it
The algorithm knows me too well at this point 😂
I’m a lazy woman with wavy hair who also showers at night. This is still too much for me 😂 I just let it air dry till damp and then put it in a double braid at each shoulder and sleep. Give it a light spray and comb through with your fingers in the morning and that’s all I need.
Hey could someone let me know if I don’t have oil to make the hair soft after what else could you use?
any tips for good hair growth after head shaving

My hair is mostly straight but in pictures I can see I have like sections of my hair that looks super zig zaggy and wavy but if you look at me from the front it looks like super straight hair but the back is like a party lmao
Im a macho man with hot wavy hair but i get tired washing it and drying it
