- BMX has been around for a long time and in today's video we are challenging young new school BMX riders to try and ride a BMX bike that is older then they are! The bike is heavy and awkward and I am challenging them to try a couple tricks on it to see if it is possible!
I still can’t believe these guys own a bike shop, Matty a top tier bicycle mechanic, and they never have tubes or tires, nor tools to do a quick swap to keep the fun going. That said, love to see the mid school bikes.
That old mongoose looks like it weighs 350lbs.
Back in the days of old school BMX and people understanding thEn and thAn are not the same word. smh.
Anyone else missing BK and Puppy Arms?
First bike was a huffy '87. Then Diamondback '92, ELF '95, Schwinn Pro '98. All got stolen. Haven't ridden a bmx since 98, 25 years ago. 43 now 😢 😂
scotty is such a humble guy

"...older than..."
Great to see you guy are riding my era of bikes and knowing how hard we had it with weight, but still did all the tricks we did. Aka Hoffman and Dennis McCoy. Ride like a man.💪
I grew up riding in the 90s.... still have my Diamond Back from 92 and just recently picked up a 93 GT Dyno to restore. I'm 43 now and can't wait to get my Dyno built😊
Really big fan of the Channel Scotty, but I'm an even bigger fan of your journey back into the sport. Giving us old school riders some encouragement that we're never too old to enjoy bmx😮😎
That Mirra seat was something to die for when I was about 10. Took me forever to get one of those in the early 00's lol. Back when I use to cut my bars super short on my Standard 250, thing was a tank. Ahhh the good ole days.
Loved this one! I'm 44, I was into freestyle/BMX in the early 90's and still watch some of the new school guys. It's cool to see how street and park competition has evolved... Those Haro knee saver handlebars were a must have back in the day! Been watching you guys and Anthony Panza a bit, fun to watch! I'd be interested to try out some of the new-school bikes, no brakes and all that... Maybe in one of those parks with the foam bricks and stuff to try it out and get used to! Those handlebars and the gyro for the brake lines bring back lotsa memories 😆
I like that bike! I rode an early 80's Mongoose in the early 80's. I ended up putting Skyways with a coaster brake on that bike. It's the bike I started freestyling on. Back then it was frame stands and riding down the hill backwards turning a 540 on the bottom of the hill and rock walks.
Try an 82 Kuwahara,Hutch, Racing Inc.,Cooks Bros or Redline. With Redline three piece cranks, which you could put on any bike and we did because they were the best with bullseye hubs and Z rims, mushroom grips and bear claw pedals, lol. The good ole days!!
Haha, this was pretty cool. Would love to see it tried on 80s era bike... a GT Performer, or Hutch , or PK Ripper.
Gotta get the curb weight on that! The 44 tooth sprocket and weird frame geometry really brings back memories.
Haha, I'm glad you changed it to "mid school".
man what a session , it's like the old days . thanks again for another great video .
I was never interested in the new school bikes, so I didn’t know they were lighter. I’ll stick with my mid School heavy haro. Hoping one day to score an 80’s GT.
