- Matty Cranmer and Cory Berglar play a game of bike on an old school 1989 Haro BMX bike and it was hilarious! These new school riders did their best to set tricks on this bike but they had a very hard time doing it! This bike is double the weight of a modern day BMX bike and some would say it's double the fun!

I was a freshmen in high school when that bike came out. Man I would have loved to have a Haro back in the day. Now I am a little like Scotty, I have some balance/coordination problems it is inspiring to see you riding on occasion but unfortunately the small fixed income so I could not even afford that Kink that is apparently the best entry level with room to grow bike. Sometimes it is frustrating because learning new skills helps remap pathways in the brain and has a little positive effect on my coordination.

It's not truly oldschool unless you have to hand tighten the headset every 5 minutes.
Also to get the brakes nice and grabby, put a little apple juice or white soda on a rag and then wipe onto the brake surface of the rims, let them dry up a bit and the rims get sticky as hell.. feathering goes out the door but they wont slip..ahh the 80s
i was thinking the same thing, back in the day i could never keep the bars from moving, until i drilled a hole right through the headset and bars and put a bolt through both, never moved after that. also never had chain tensioners so casing a jump meant re adjusting your wheel every time or it would hit the frame.
Gotta do a couple of coats of that juice lol get nice an thick on them rims
@@thumasta666 we used to stick pennies between the bar an bottom of the neck an if that wore out theyd go between bar an top cap an try not to strip any heads
When I got to work at a real shop and learned how to do things correctly, most of these problems went away, but some of my fondest BMX memories are of the crappiest bikes I had before I got a job.
our local trick for bars moving was a layer or 2 of wrinkled tinfoil around the bars tighten the stem bolts by standing on the Allen wrench and bouncing a few times lol
The next thing you should buy for the Prius is a “For Sale” sign and then go buy a GTR!! 😂.

Thats one thing I kind of forgot about....bending that massive sprocket, then the chain would loosen and tighten as you pedal lol. those were the days.

Brooklyn, my heart goes out to you because my older brother died in 2015 of suicide and my mom died in 2018 of a heart failure. The next year after that , on July 14th of 2019 , I was hit by a car while riding on my mountain dirt jumper and was seriously injured like you were Scott but unfortunately not like your head/brain drama , mine was more less extreme. Being 52 , being handicap with a speech disability since I was 2 years old when I was in a car accident with my mom. So yeah I have my share of unfortunates in my life. I have very respects towards everyone that l know in my personal life and for the ones who I love to watch on social media like UA-cam and such...

Olde school is awesome. I still have my 1982 Schwinn Predator bmx bike. Has blue mag wheels. I could of gotten the z rims. Though I wanted the mags.

I sure do miss them days . I had a 1989 gt pro performer all chrome with white skyway mags and white tires I still miss that bike took me 2 yrs of saving to buy it

I love the old school bikes but the Psycho was definitely not a high end option for Haro. A bash guard Master from that era would take all the abuse you could throw at it and be near twice the weight of the Psycho. Seeing more old bikes in the videos would be cool.

Fyi they did make much better 3pc cranks and "chainrings" or sprockets back in those days for those bikes. They also came with the cheaper 1pc chromoly with paper thin sprocket like on this Haro.
