- In this video I take a look at the all new Unifi U6 Enterprise in-wall wifi 6e access point. I install the access point , create a 6ghz wifi network and then do some test

Great video, loved the real world speed tests. I think if I was building a home, or owned one I could remodel, I'd install these at key points - maybe overkill, but I also like having good WiFi (I finally got a UDR recently)
It'll come apart. You just need a heat gun, some spludgers and some flathead screwdrivers! 🤦♂️🤣
Nice, I just installed a Engenius wifi6e ap, and i get 990-1gig both directions!!
First. I have the U6-IW, always interesting to see the new Ubiquiti products. Don't need any enterprise stuff just yet, as only have a 500Mb connection.
I just got some sensors this week been waiting on those to be back in stock for like 4 or 5 months now, this in wall will be perfect for my family room with 600 of my closest friends… most businesses don’t need that density, for that matter can you do a test on range?
Cody, thanks for the video. How does the U6-enterprise compare to the Meraki in handing off signal from one AP to the next? I've heard Meraki is far better at doing this.
So excited for the Wifi7 model.
I'd love to have this but with the output ports also on the back, so the cables can go back inside the other tubes in the wall.
what is the difference between U6 IW Enterprise and U6 enterprise, performance wise ? When you dont have a cable running thought the ceiling, but only in a wall/closet, you can use IW Enterprise and it will perform equally versus a U6 Enterprise mounted vertically?
Thanks for this review! I am curious if it is possible to use 2 such APs as wireless bridge on 6ghz band? To have second AP as accepting unit and providing then through RJ45 port connection to switch. I have a situation when I cannot phisically to have a wire between two locations and using now 2 Asus AX routers as mesh system. Looking for same solution from UniFi, if it is possible. Is 2,5 Gb RJ45 only for incoming traffic, or can be used as outcoming also?
Is there and international version like the other APs. What’s the difference in performance. Can the USA version be used outside USA with no compromise in performance?
What general settings do you have on the IW6E ? I’m barley get 200mbps
hey man, what transition are you using at 6:53 you look like AI lol
Can it be used with any network or does it have to be an enterprise ubiquitin switch?
my question is, what kind of walls and floor do you have. We have mainly, inside walls about 7 inches and outside walls 15 inches, while the floors are concrete with steel panels so if i could get half of your results i would be happy
I would think they would name this wallplate AP not in-wall as in-wall sounds to me like stealthing an AP behind a wall for aesthetic concerns.
Following their branding language. The In-Walls have been around for a good while. It's connected into the wall.
Going to deduce the install was on the middle/main floor based on your reference to the basement and upstairs tests?
Correct
Thank you for this review, it's unfortunately that it's out of stock when they just released it. I think I'm going to wait for WiFi 7.
Yup always happens with new devices
They come in stock regularly.
is it directional? always wondered if being behind the unit/installed wall you would see a speed loss.
did you ever get an answer to this?
Is it possible to mount the Access Point on a wall, but with cable input from the side?
No. The uplink port sticks out of the back and goes inside the wall.
Curious what your speed would have been if your computer was in the same room as the U6E-IW
Ill test with my netally device and let you know
Am I crazy or was their a video about securing your unifi network for 2022 that has been removed? Love your videos by the way.
You’re not crazy but I believ something changed on the backend of the firewall. So if you follow that video and are using the cameras you will be unable to view them
I’ll have to redo the video
Hey I know your in Canada Georgina area. But Ubiquiti doesn’t certify their 6e equipment for Canada and say Canada doesn’t support it. Obviously the gear is working. But any insights on when or how to get my hands on it at not an insane rate. I’m all Omada gear but I need 6e access points ( townhomes with no backyard so back to back ) and it’s heavily congested network wise
Hey,
So I used a freight forwarder to get this from the USA. Not sure when it will be available here most likely when Canada approved the 6ghz band
@@MactelecomNetworks 6ghz band has been released in Canada since May 2021 they released the entire 6ghz band 5925-7125 MHz. So we line up with the US and have more spectrum available.
But 6e availability is scarce, outside of isp provided modem/router combos. Would love if you had a contact at Ubiquiti to give further insight
@@MactelecomNetworks Also I live fairly close would love if you could give me an idea of cost for a u6 enterprise or in wall. Let me know if I should message you somewhere
@@MactelecomNetworksI also live near you… which freight forwarder do you use? I have never used a freight forwarder before. I have been waiting months to get my u6 enterprise in wall from the Canada Ubiquiti store but it’s never available.
Does the In-Wall version have more range than the non-in-wall version?
Probably not the ceiling mounted ones typically do
If you want 2.5 back haul and poe++ you will have to use an injector right?
Ya correct. I meant to mention that in the video the enterprise switches only have PoE+
@@dchick1206 i have tested the injectors from an Enterprise switch , to the Enterprise AP, and it works at 2.5
@@khaynn2112 was that testing poe+ or poe++? I'm not aware of any UI ap that requires poe ++
@@waltpage this one needs ++ if you're going to use poe passthrough. Having the ports is the reason to get this AP.
@@dchick1206 oh right, I was confused for a min there
you're a diablo player. Based
how many concurrent users would comfortably be connected to this?
I think the spec sheet says 600
@@MactelecomNetworks thank you for taking the time... Any real world numbers? I've seen Spec say 150 but only about 30-40 in reality would work concurrently
Does you cat offer mobile installation?, I have no idea what I'm doing...
Wondering why they call them in-wall instead of "on-wall" since it doesnt actually go in the wall...
Cody you need to get yourself at least a ratcheting screwdriver…… 😊
😂
It's obviously ON-wall instead of IN-wall haha
Just some constructive criticism (I hope), try talking in a more natural tone rather than like a robot voice tone. It is harder for the audience to remain engaged when the speech is not natural.
Thanks for the comment. Wish I could I’ll see what I can do
awesome a new item that they will run out of and never restock, they need to stop making new things and fix the old software and produce more of what there customers are demanding, not new things to try and bring in other customer types.
