Love your deep dive content! Is lower upload speed expected for wifi access points in general? I’ve been doing iperf3 testing on my UDR and a u6 lite lately (5g band). I get 500-600mbps download from both of them. I get 500-600mbps upload to my u6 lite but under 300mbps upload to UDR. Pulling my hair trying to understand why….

Lol I fixed it after reading a thread on the Ubiquiti forum. Deleting any bandwidth profile you have… wow that was a fun bug…

I used default bandwidth profile in my testing. Do you mean I need to delete the ones which are not used by my ap? If it’s true, I agree it’s fun and disappointing at the same time. Sounds like a great topic for another deep dive video, but I may have to do it in a month due to some other things.

Yeah the profile was for my guest network. I turned off guest network as part of debugging. Plus the default profile is unlimited. My case is slightly different to yours as it didn’t impact my u6 lite only my UDR (gateway + AP). But you could give this a go and see if works for you. 😂

you should be able to create two SSID of the same name - one for the U6E only and then only select 6GHz for that SSID. the other SSID (same name again) for the rest of your APs and select 5GHz, and 2.4GHz if you want.

Let me try it out when I get confidence and decide to adopt it to my home network, maybe in a month.

I just put one of these in my network at home. I replaced a Cisco 9120 Wifi 6 (non 6E) AP because I was sick of the controller crashing. I am curious have you setup captive portal for guest network with the unifi platform? I am trying to get CA signed SSL certificate installed and there ZERO documentation. Great videos!

      Hi Eric,
In my lab environment I do not have captive portal configured. In my “production” env I use pfSense. Even though I don’t have problems on certificate setup but I do not use captive portal there either.

WiFi Man for me shows around 500-800 Mbps (depends on how far I'm) using U6-IW with 80 MHz channel width and an iPhone 12 Pro (1200 PHY). Intel AX210 (2400 PHY) goes above 1 Gbps when 160 MHz channel width is enabled but I keep my APs on 80 MHz because 160 MHz isn't stable enought because of interference from other networks.
So something is off with your Enterprise AP I think.

In fact before taking the video, my initial test showed 1+Gbps using WiFiman, but then I could never get the same result again…
Now I cannot exclude the possibility that it's the Google phone to blame. When I have time I need to do more extensive test.

I wonder...Does the pixel 7 pro only have 1x1, or 2x2 wifi radio? also does it actually support connecting at 160mhz or limited to 80mhz?

      2x2 MIMO, HE160

    Very bad speeds IMO

remember it is a phone and first gen wifi6e radio on said phone...not a laptop wifi 6e radio.
