love seein you flex mate!!!!
Another great test Jake . Informative. Thank you. I'd really like to see you do a flex test on the Gray AIX fitted with the damping bridge
I’m curious to see if the tft-g is actually stiffer than the nano tft, so that would be an interesting test, mostly for academic reasons.
The WNS motive fx is probably the most popular budget riser I’ve seen, so that would be good to get some data on as well for practical considerations.
Atf-x would be a good shout too, fairly popular at the moment. I've also just moved to it from the TFT so would be interested to see the difference also! Great vid again.
I'd suggest Spigarelli Revolution (currently REV2) riser because it's both budget one and of unique construction.
I would like also to see the spigarelli revo flex tested. As I have one at home.
A Kinetic Vygo would be a good one to test, as its pretty much the cheapest riser built with barebow in mind.
Thanks for the great channel & the series on flex testing risers. Have you tested the Spigarelli Revolution BB riser or the SF Archers Forged + riser? I'd be interested in those results. Best, PK
I would be interested in seeing your test conducted on the Galaxy Tourch, that's one of the budget risers, that is a (staff pick) from Lancaster Archery.
Nice! Can try flex test Hoyt Alero and Xceed?
Hi Jake . Another great vid buddy ..I have a question do you that there would be much difference between two risers of the same type ie two Win & win TFT or two Samick Max pro etc or do you think that the engineering tolerance would be negligible.. Once again thanks ..Stay safe bud ..
It would be awesome to see any kind of Samick, WNS,Kinetic, Cartel, Shocq,Decut, Sanlida, Topoint(in different price categories )Thank you for your work.
What very interesting aspect You report. Next work should be to compare the different risers with the database and then... to compare with the the best performance on the target. Probably it will be the conclusion that a certain flex is necessary for a good shooting result, or no flex ist better. In MotoGP par example is a certain flexibility better for best tracking on roads...
I´m waiting for new results, not for me, I'm a terrible archer, but the idea is great! Thanks!
Topoint Unison seems to be a good budget minded option.
I agree. I was actually looking to buy this riser.
For budget risers, the Galaxy Solstice 25” has been really popular. Would love to see that.
Very interesting Jake. Fivics Argon EX 25” riser or Hoyt Matrix 25” Great vid 👍
Okay, so if the bottom flexes a bit to the right. What would happen if you now move the bottom limb alignment to the left? And then measure again? Could it be that the left and right deviations you measure are caused by imperfect limb alignment?
Given ILF lacks micro adjustment, it's likely impossible to get them 100% straight. I recall in one of his Q&A / recurve setup vids, Jake mentions lack of micro adjustment as the reason he doesn't align his limbs with laser.
I must admit, it is really hard to get get the limbs exactly straight. A minor shift to the grub screws and you get a big shift at the pocket. Im a ford trained mechanic so i have a steady hand & good eye when it comes to mechanical adjustment/alignment. I bet most users don't even notice their limbs are marginally out, but they definitely are even if by a tiny amount.
We are talking amounts so minor, that the human eye struggles to pick it up using 4 beiter blocks on each limb. But yea, it would effect the test to some degree. Whether its enough to account for the flexing is anyones guess.
I had my bow on a vice for over a week trying to get it exact once, it just wasn't possible. Id bet most people think it is perfectly straight by their eye, but i know it isnt.
Manufacturers could offer micro adjustment if the market demanded it, the technology is basic. People just don't realise its an issue.
The Gillo G2 is very popular budget minded riser now, I can recommend that for flex test.
the G2 limit is 40#. Jake draws more though. probably it won't damage it just from a static draw/pull...but who knows
@@Katzekaze Really, I forgot it.
The Gray Archery AIX (2019 model) would be an interested one to test because of its asymmetric design
I'd love to see the hpx, purly cause of the unique geometry that seems to be a bit of a argument with a lot of people. Love it or hate it situation. Obviously gmx and axt
You should try with a fivics titan ex or with an aragon if you can find it
I'd like to see the topoint unison tested too. Actually it would be good to test more than one of them because the aluminum used to make them might not be consistent. My riser looks like topoint pushed the milling machine hard to spit them out ASAP and then tossed them into a tumbler for the "hand finishing". I'll send you mine if you're willing to test a group of 5 or 10 risers. The thick black anodize does a good job at masking the horrible machined surface finish...cudos for at least trying to hide the chattered and mismatched surfaces.
Hey coach can you review the cartel fantom limbs? It is budget minded limbs. Thanks in advance!
would love to see either the WNS Vantage CX or the fc-100 (originally SF-100) tested as they're pretty much the staples for beginner carbon risers!
Here in europe, some of the Kinetic brand risers are very popular beginner choices, also some of the sanlida Athletics risers
Can you ask Merlin Archery UK or Lancaster Archery supplies US for a Mybo Elite 25" riser to test please Jake.
Yay he chose the one I suggested next, the TFT ^_^
I'm surprised by the results, even if the tests show zero flex at 47# :)
Ppl should remember that the flex is exaggerated from the actual amount of movement the riser does :)
Jack very useful info but way outside my budget. Interested in cast risers which are more affordable.
Thanks for the efforts; quite interesting. If you could get a W&W CX7 would be great; Intermediate Carbon riser.
That's the one I'm shooting. I like it a lot.
@@henrik_worst_of_sinners Same.
hi Jake! you cool barebow man! you information wery good!
please say, kaya k7 good riser for barebow?
could you please test wiawis atfx so bad to see 。hard work jake thanks
can you add this test when review new bows as well?
hi, would these results change from left to right handed bows. i'm a new archer. thanks
I'd like to see some more European risers under test: Border Tempest, Spigarelli Zen and DMS, Best Zenit, etc.
Try if grey paper reduces the glare. But yeah otherwise a polarisation filter should work.
The budget win&win riser is tge winex...please do a review on that
Inno CXT
I have a thought that this riser if compared to the legendary Hoyt GMX will give the same performance.
Also maybe a high powered laser that could burn a spot on the paper would be a great way to get accurate results if you can find one that would smolder instead of catching flame.
Was expecting much less flex from carbon riser especially that bottom pocket x axis. Given you can buy superb condition 2nd hand wiawis nano max for £350 these days and it's still hugely popular even with top level archers I'd love to know how much it flexes
And a Win and Win AXT if you can find it
CX and CX7 would be interesting.
One more TEST suggestion >> X-Spot 25" barebow riser. *** Will send $ ***
Wouldn't you want the riser to flex unequally between pockets to make up for tiller? The bottom limb usually gets a higher load, so it should bend less at to bottom pocket to compensate, right? That way the riser flexes equally at the right tiller setting.
I just bought tft-g riser for my son... as a parents, we are zero knowledge about the achery and also about the equipments. We just google it and review your video. Tq🙂
How about Hoyt satori riser
Can you please test a Hoyt Alero.
I second the Alero (use one for barebow)
It occurs to me that manual levels aren’t the most precise tools. Accurately leveling the grid to the bow is pretty critical for this test. If it’s off, the top limb will appear to twist one way and the bottom will appear to twist the other way.
I’m not sure that it’s necessary, but if you feel the need to improve your tolerances, it might be worth using a digital or laser level to reduce the chances of any error.
With AL machined risers I wonder if different grades of AL such 6061 vs 7075 would flex differently. 7075 should flex less as it's got less zinc in it and is supposed to be higher strength & more stress resistant. 6061 is popular because you can weld it better but that's not a consideration for a machined riser. 7075 is supposed to be more difficult to machine and also more expensive to buy so there's not too many risers using 7075 because of that.
Samick Sage?
Gillo G2 please
Budget minded risers: Samick Avante, most WNS risers, Core Refine, Core Astral, Krossen Xenia, Cartel Phantom, Samick Ideal.
careful though, some risers are limit below 40lbs.
DNAKOL, yep specially the cast risers.
JAKE >> BUDGET riser test suggestion >> EXE Blizzard 25" riser. If you can get ahold of one and test it, I'll send some $ your way.
as for risers...uhm, I'm a barebow guy, any italian brand riser will do, Spigarelli, Best (the Zenit BB especially)
Wiawis Meta DX
Gillo g1
The SF/WNS forged+/elite alpha or whatever W&W is calling it now (Motive FX???) would probably be good data as it has been/is/will be so common. I don't shoot it so this is not a self serving post, just that the riser is ubiquitous.
Maybe also have a different tier poundage for this budget/mid level risers as some have 40# limit (tough the mentioned riser has no such limitation).
Agree. Might be the most popular mid tier riser ever.
That's a very popular forged riser and it would be good to see that one tested vs some of the machined risers and even the cheaper still cast risers like the Cartel Fantom which is really popular with newbies.
W&W Winex. The original not the new one.
lol Samick Sage riser lol
Nah, seriously, flex test something from the Galaxy range, as sold by Lancaster. ( but choose from models which have BOTH LEFT HAND and right hand options. )
Who’s the one hater? An old rival trolling the webz?
