Mr. Kent, I'm still misty-eyed about Beags. You're such a good man and gave Beags the best life ever. Thank you sir and I can't wait to try my steaks with this recipe!
My wife and i bought 4 of the beag shirts in honor of the great taste tester. We are keeping you in our prayers. May God bless you down ( THE GREAT BEAG TRAIL).
@@debrahaynes6372 Yes he did say that. A truly horrific statement that he made in passing, in Beag's honor video the other day. This man and his beautiful wife and doggos have been through hell the last couple of weeks. And you can hear it in his voice in this video. There is a hole in his heart the size of Texas. God bless them. 😞
Great grilling tips. Since i retired about 8 years ago, been grilling in the back yard, tomahawk steaks are fantastic, being a retired navy Chief Petty Officer on the busy decks of The George HW Bush aircraft carrier, I ended volunteering my time during the Steel Beach BBQ where I got to BBQ hamburgers and hot dogs and most cuts of meats that was delivered to the air craft carrier, it was with great pride and enjoyment to cook for my fellow sailors and their families during Memorial Day and Independence day celebrations.
Isn’t it wonderful to be able to do things like that? You get to pass down a little history with the food too! Thank you for your service. Dad and Uncle were both Navy men in WWII. “Don’t join the army!” Their great grandpa told them. “At least in the Navy you won’t be knee-deep in mud.” 🤣
Good looking steaks. Thanks to our farmers and ranchers for helping to feed us. Thanks to our troops and our veterans for their services. Cheers, Kent and Shannon! 👍🏻👍🏻✌️
I appreciate your kindness and sincerity about dealing with the loss of a "best friend", the Beag. Have had dogs all 76 years of my life, but certain ones have hurt deeper at the end. They were all good companions, but a couple knew how to be a soul mate instead of a companion. A nuzzle here and there, a couch pillow pushing against you, or just a wagging tail and leg brush glad to see you walk in a room. This is very regional. Dad pretty much did the same cooking technique. The flavors that Mom would use are very different. These flavors are very cowboy. I would describe how Mom did it as Italian flavors. Dad always used hard wood, no smoke wood. Oak and Maple I think. He did get a hold of an apple tree that he used for a couple years for other stuff besides steak. It is interesting to see it done the same, as dad, but different.

That ribeye steak looks absolutely delicious and perfect as always kent. The beags is looking down upon you guys and saying "have a delicious bite of that tasty looking steak on me dad". We salute you guys and of course the beags.
My dad when he would cook out on the grill would soak the wood mostly Hickory, mesquite, or pecan in water over night and get the coals good and hot then through a chunk of what ever wood he was using for the smoke on to the coals and the water in to wood slowed it down from burning added a little steam in to the smoker and took less of the smoke wood to get the flavor from the wood. Some of the best smoked sunfish was when he used some hickory in this manner and basted the fish with garlic butter. He cooked it in an old cast iron potbelly stove converted to a smoker. I remember he had the stove propped up on one corner with a brick cause the stove was missing one of it's legs. He also used some bricked up on end to hold a grate on the inside of the stove that he put what ever he was cooking on.

I haven't been able to afford ribeye steak for awhile now. Miss those steak dinners, but when one steak runs almost $20 and up, chicken and pork are my options these days. Ty Kent for all your content.
Try a chuck steak or a chuck roast. I like mine thick-cut so, most likely a roast. It’s what my Mom would make us as a treat every now and then! Cheaper than fancy steaks and more flavor too! (Just a little bit more chewy). And that’s probably a GOOD thing because it most likely has more collagen in it to help with bones and joints.
