this has to be my all time favorite pie
That's why you seen me make and post it lots of times
OLD SCHOOL BUTTER MILK PIE:
2 cups sugar
1/4 c ap flour
4oz real unsalted butter
3 eggs
1tsp vanilla
1c butter milk
1 uncooked deep pie crust
Mixed together flour and sugar
In separate bowl mix butter,eggs,vanilla,and butter milk
Slowly add the dry mixture with the wet
Pour in pie crust and cook in a 350 degree oven for 30-45 minutes or until it's firm to touch
this will be the best buttermilk pie you ever tasted!!!

My husband absolutely loves buttermilk pie and asked me to make one. I came across your recipe and used it. I got one slice. My husband ate all the rest. Lol! 😂 Thank you for sharing your recipe. You're right. It was very easy.

My Mom made buttermilk pie like no other and I can’t find her recipe. She cooked the filling with just the yolks of the egg. It had a caramel consistency. Has anyone ever heard of that! It was super delicious!

I first heard of this pie when I visited my husbands grandmother in Earle, Arkansas. As a baker I liked it so much I've been looking for a recipe that had that southern twang and I think I've found it! Thank you!!!

I'm making this in a couple of hours, but don't have deep dish pie crusts, so I'll probably have to toss some of the mix. Funny though. I searched for this because the other day, I happened onto some site that named the favorite pies for Thanksgiving for each state. I'm from Tennessee. It said both Tennessee and North Carolina's favorite Thanksgiving pie was Buttermilk pie. I absolutely never heard of it. When I was young, we had most of the usual pies, Pecan, Cherry, a variety of apple, pumpkin and also mincemeat and some cakes too. Never ever heard of buttermilk pie. But it's on the menu for tomorrow.
Well, we'll see how it went. They're baked and sitting out, cooling down. Didn't take them long to sink a bit. One confusion; you say in the video, 45-1:00, but in the written instructions 35-45 minutes. So at about 40 minutes I took the one from the bottom rack, and turned the top tray around and placed the second one next to it. Came back to watch the end of your video again to see if you added something at the end. Then they were just starting to show some color, so I pulled them out. Good video.
Also, I wound up having to make my own buttermilk because the only buttermilk sold up here in the Midwest state I live in is reduced fat buttermilk. I asked them what the point of that was, and it took them 3 days to respond and said that they realize that's old thinking and they're going to be looking into changing that. I'm glad some people are waking up. However, mixing whole fat and sugar certainly isn't a good combination, but if you're going to eat sugar, you may as well go all out.

Hi chef this janice grant, can I add a little coconut extract to your buttermilk pie to give it that coconut taste I love all pies my favorite is sweet potato egg and cream cheese also chess and veggies pies your pies good so good I could eat them though the tv lol you’re the best chef on UA-cam that’s my opinion it’s a lot of buttermilk pies on UA-cam but yours is simple and easy I enjoy watching all your food channels wish I was a cook of cook as you chef maybe one day I can come meet you at your house and you can cook my favorite dish corn bread dressing potato salad sweet potato pies Mac and cheese and chicken and dumplings my favorite also just like your mom we both love chicken and dumplings I love you and your cooking!

I use my blender to mix this and the vinegar pie I make up! It makes the custard really light and fluffy.

Made this pies today for early Thanksgiving get together. Last time I tried it came out good but I didn’t have enough filling this time I made a little bit too much feeling but that’s OK I was able to put my two pies together plus made one without the pie crust in a smaller pie plate for me to try hopefully will taste good. Little nervous when I taste the batter can taste the greediness of the sugar hopefully it won’t be like that. Mr. Jeffries since I don’t have my mom to teach me anymore I resorted to using your station.God blessed 🙏🏾😇

Chef Jeffery, I had never heard of buttermilk pie, so I tried it today I was amazed at how it tasted I really like it. Me personally I would have to cut back on the sugar for me because it was too sweet. I plan on cooking this one for Thanksgiving dinner. Thank you again for another amazing recipe.

I have been learning to cook for over a year now and I use all your recipes! I love your channel! My issue with pies seem to be that I never cook it long enough. I've tried different ovens but still the same issue. My question is, where should the rack be placed in the oven? Directly in the middle or 2 racks down from the top/bottom? I think my issue is maybe my pie is not evenly cooking or its too far from the top or bottom of the oven. I hope my question is clear. Thanks so much!

I’m trying your recipe and directions for this butter milk pie here in about 15 minutes! I’ve only made one buttermilk pie in the past, and it did not turn out!
And I'm making 2 if these also. 1 is not enough. Lols
I made this and did just what you did. And my pie didn't cook inside at all. I used all purpose flour guess that is what did it. Nobody ever says what kind of flour you use.

NO,I JUST USE REGULAR CRUST
